I will be getting the flutes, My mother will not allow me to do other wise (I'm an only child, and a girl on top of that, I was lucky she got passed the fact I was doing destination wedding) I don't like the whole idea of the guest book, I can just see it getting dirty since there will probably be no stand like in a reception hall. What I do like, there is a stip of paper for everyone, they write down a wish for the bridal couple I.E wedding couple must get a massage, or couple must do a romantic dinner, sign with their names. I'm with you on that, I can't buy favours yet until I know how many people are coming. I would like to do beach bags filled with little things. But only if not allot of people are coming, as beach bags are $$. I like the silver tag idea. Great one! what exactly are OOT bags? (out of town bags?) if so this is what I was thinking. But no idea with what to fill them with, and what kind of bags, any help would be greatly appreciated! Do you think it's necessary to get place cards, or are you doing it just because you like them, and you have a specific idea of where you want people seated?

Welcome! there are tons of info here. I found the most popular resorts for wedding are: Grand Palladium (all 3 of them ,punta cana, Bavaro and Palac) Majestic Colonal and Elegance. And Both Dreams resort Punta Cana and Palm Beach, I haven't seen any info here yet, But also Royal Catolina. That should start you off! happy resort hunting.

We got engaged at 4 years, it'll be just shy of 6 years together when we get married. Some of you have allot of patience. I wouldn't wait 8 years lol My bestfriend which I made another friend meet have been together 8 and half years, and they are still NOT engaged!

I did the same thing, we went to the mall the same time as last year when we bought our engagement ring, I got 75% off!! It's hard not wanting to put it on and play around though hehe! Your rings are beautiful. Congrats!!

Really, I've had no problems contacting Carolina. She reply's my e-mail with in a day, usualy with in a hour. She gave me a time, but repeated herself in saying the time is subject to change.And it probably will. I spoke to her yesterday asking her if I could have the patio of La Uva. She siad she would do this for me. That they don't usualy allow dancing especialy if there is other people at the restaurant but she will allow me to have my first husband and wife dance. I guess I should consider myself lucky in getting reply's real quick. (I get ulcers from my crohn's, last thing I need is more stress about reply's! )

I'm really sorry for all the things you are going through it's so horrible so close to your date. I can relate. I put a couple 1,000$ deposit down for a home wedding when my FI realized how much the wedding was going to cost. But my dad was in the hospital and I didn't know if he was going to make it, coudn't make the decision to do destination if my dad couldn't be there (let along be alive) so finaly he made it, we decided to cut our lost with our deposit and book in Jamaica. wow I was relieved!! then a bride came back from having her wedding there, the whole wedding guest got ill before their wedding, they were on IV drips!!! I couldn't bring friends and family there. So I had to cancel. Now at Grand Palladium couldn't be happier! I bought a church dress first before knowing we were doing destination. So I bought another dress for the evening to be cooler. I got it for real cheap but it was a size 12 I am a bridal 6. The seamstress has no prolbems fixing it, only taking 3 weeks! so don't worry about the dress. Good luck with everything. No matter where your wedding happenes it'll be amazing, and you'll be married (really it's the only thing that matters!!) xxoox

soxgirl Congrats on the new engagment!!! Heck if your know right from the start your doing destination no need to wait long! Although the only reason I see giving it a year would be to notify your guest so they can safe, and or get time off of work. Congrats again!!!

sperger, $500 for the flowers? how come.. 3 BM would be 100$ at 35$ a bouquet. The max a buttonhole is 10$ so if you have 3 GM that's only 30$ so your at 130$ for flowers for the wedding party. I freaked out when I saw $500 I will not pay that for my wedding party flowers they will loss during the night from being drunk. It's also why I'm do destination, save,save,save! lol maybe your upgrading flowers?! Please explain I don't want to be spending this!

Hi! I'm so happy and proud to say I'm an april bride. April 13 2010. Grand Palladium Punta Cana. I've never been! Getting real excited!! I've already sent my invites out at the start of July.I've only got 4 rsvp back and 2 of those are our parents!!I doubt allot of people will go due to money issues (we all can relate) most of our family members wont be there. But I'll be happy if 10 show up. I'm assuming if I think like this more people will come! Have any of you set a web page for your guest to check in for all the resort info and what not? I did since I will not be working with a travel agent (they wouldn't give me a good quote, and I know the price my guest can get through the internet)

btw- The photographer on the resort you don't need to book, I e-mailed him ,he said just to call his cell when we arrive! I am not just to love this approach or to be terrified! There is no wedding pictures on his site. Does anyone know if his any good? Jose is his name.
