miss di , Thanks so much! I spoke to the FI yesterday, I think he decided to wait until we get out rsvp backs on Oct 1st see is and isn't coming then he'll ask. I guess it wont make a difference since he doesn't really have close guy friends. Funny I putting the BM in aqua color dress same the the GM and aqua color. so I would so use the ties. I'll also be bring a couple of vases for the center piece for dinner recption, so if any of you want to borrow this, no problem I'll be filling it with sand and shells. Then scatter tea lite candles around the table.

Thanks so much for sharing!! I feel a little less stress eveytime i take alook on this site. I love the travel mugs, as I know how useful they are. I am even willing to go through a USA website to buy them (they charge a ton to go through the duty fee) Can I ask how much you paid for each bag? rough price to get an idea.

It never fails to say I over pack every trip, ending up using maybe 30% of the things I packed. I've said to myself the next trip I go on I wouldn't do these, but who knew it was going to be for my wedding, so I'll probably over pack. That being said, with favour's all wedding related things. Aren't you worried the towels are going to weigh a ton and take to much room?! Because I wanted to give towels in my OOT bag but knew it wouldn't be manageable with my weight issues! I would really like to know what you guys think or have any suggestions

caribbeanLover replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
http://www.bestforbride.com/viewDres...Lee/Bridal.php I love all your dresses they are so beautiful. I thought I'd just add mine. I will wear this one for the ceremony and dinner ,then change into a lighter dress (don't have a picture yet, but once I do I'll post it) for dacing. sorry but I can't figure out to post pics yet. I've followed what the was told but still nada! -
I really like #1 on you, it's perfect sexy but not to sexy, i found the other 2 way to darn sexy for a wedding. I thought you picked the right dress. Usualy when us brides have these urges to go look at another dress, we always ending up falling back in love with the one we bought (I did the same thing lol)

My ceremony dress is a Mori Lee. I couldn't love it anymore then I already do (but because it's heavy, i decided to buy off the rack dress which is a bit lighter for the evening to dance in) By chance do you know the price of this dress?

How do I include FI's 3 sisters?? (long)
caribbeanLover replied to ashrose's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I too am having bridal party problems. My MOH says she'll be there for sure but she has such money issues (it's so bad she's ponds things like stero, cell phone) and that her and her bf (which is suppose to be one my my FI Groosmen) are only booking a month before we leave for our wedding (little worried) especially since I have to give 2 witness's passport 3 months before we leave for all the paper work. My FI also doesn't have allot of close friends. The one he thinks is the cloest, said he'd been the best man but he can't go to the wedding and he can't throw him a party because of money issues. So now the FI doesn't want to ask anyone else in respect. But he also wants to wait to see who will rsvp yes, then ask!! Mean while I really wanted to have 3 girls 3 guys.. or 2 girls 2 guys. But I can't even figure that out. Who ever said destination wedding was the easiest!! -
Thanks! nice to know I'm not going craZy! I'll speak with him tonight, see what he has to say, but I know my FI he'd like to wait to the last last minute.Maybe in his mind, he'd like to see who send their rsvp back with a yes, then maybe ask someone. But the way I see it is, if you ask someone maybe they will try extra hard to come.

it's nice to know I someone else is not having the same amount in the bridal party. I may just end up doing this. I really don't want to have to tell another bridesmaid she doesn't need to be one (and it's my FI sister, but I had another idea for her, she could do the sand ceremony) My FI ask his bf but he has money issues. Let me know if this makes since, maybe you guys can give me advice. So My FI BF said yes but he wouldn't be able to come to our wedding, and he wouldn't have the money to make him a bachalore party. Do you think he should have just said 'I appreciated your offer, I would love to do it, but due to money issues I think it'd be best you ask someone who can go and throw you a party'? Now my FI doesn't really feel like asking someone else, and he's not sure who'll be able to make it. How should we work around this? as I will need to know to send a copy their passport with our papers.

Thanks for the understanding! Hopefuly it'll come all together soon!

I love your incent idea with the match box and sticker! cheap!! Actually I think it'll be more friends then family. Due to money issues. so my parents will have a small cocktail reception back home in July. Nothing fancy no decor, more so for the members who want to see me in my dress. I sent my invites out in July, rsvp date for Oct 1. i only have 4 returned saying yes, 6 no's. so far. alittle disapointed but had to expect it. My FI can't even figure out a bestman. Which is hard to deal with since I like being planned. If he can't figure out how a bestman let along groosmen, how am I suppose to choose how many bridesmaid (not to say i had ask 4 of my gf to be bridesmaid) and so I had to let one go (for now, may need to let another go off her duties) just to try to make it equal girls vs guys. Are all of you having the same amount of people for bridemaids and groomens?

We were originally thinking about oot bags and I actually started a list of things that I could start to buy but the number and the price were getting a little too much. I don't want to be cheap but still need to keep the costs down as we are also having a wedding reception in Canada in May 2010. While I was looking around during lunch hour, I happened to see a candle set at Bowrings that has three candles - Sun, Sand and Surf. It seemed appropriate. They were 75% off for a sale price of $4.99. I was thinking of giving these to each couple and then buy something different for the single guys and gals. Hoping that this will be more economical. What do you think?? I understand about the OOT bags, as filling them can add up. I am doing them ,but getting the stuff at the dollar store, or wal-mart (the travel size things)and oot bags will be per couple (except for the single people) I think the candle things as a favour is a great idea. I like the sun, earth, fire thing! I think it would go great with a beach theme wedding. I've finaly decided on my favour (lanterns that I can set up on the dinner table, have them all lite up then ppl can take it home with them) Wow your getting allot of people to come! congrats. I truly don't expect more then 20 but probably around 10-15 people.

sperger, If I can get my hands on a picture of the center piece, I'll def hand it over to you.But I'll probably stick to my ideas of the vase. I have no problems at all lending them to you. Actually We are doing 10 days as it stands, so you wont have to waste money on shipping anything I'll still be there after your wedding. We can def arrange a meeting when we get there have a drink (I'll buy) lol

Are these bags your taking about big? well have fun in Montreal. And enjoy Fairview! We are doing the same, having a cocktail reception when we come back in July for the family and friends who couldn't come. They all still want to see me in my dress. But it wont be anything fancy hardly any decro. Just simple and fun. Will you be going all out for your at home reception?

I couldn't agree more, once we are ready to buy a house, we'll be going to Hudson,St-Lizard. But still close enough to the city for a visit!

I am doing turquoise and white (or perhaps oasis (more tiffany color), but we do not have the BM dresses yet so who knows what we will discover! I noticed on another section of this site that the Grand Palladium wedding coordinator prints a menu if you eat at La Uva. That would be fabulous. I am not going to go crazy carrying all kinds of decor, but I think I will bring something turquoise, black and white for the tables. Pretty white fabric flowers maybe.. (I am all about the packaging and the decor... thats my thing!) Anyhow, I am definately doing OOT bags with a mix of aloe, sunblock, tums (you never know) etc. I was also thinking of the Old Navy flip flops but it might be kinda hard to get all the sizes. I will probably have about 20 guests (hopefully more.. I am off to the mailbox now to see if I have any more replies!) Talk to you later ladies!!! Dawn Really!! That's neat. I live in the west island (Pierrefond to be exact) really is a small world. I have a few friends it Chatz so I know the area well. Do you like Ottowa? must be a little different size wise. Thaks so some of your ideas of the OOT bag. I got first aid kit, lipchap with spf,fan (all of which I can get at the dollar store) I'm not the decro type. I suck at things like that. So I'm truly hoping Carolina will come threw for me with Decro. I will bring a couple of vases for the center of the dinner tables filled with sand and shells. Then across the table put tea lite candles. I see on the package I can get a center piece flower for $65 US not to sure it's it worth it. I'll see the pic when I get there and decide then. That would be for the head table. Someone on here showed pics. You get a head table for you the husband, Bridesmaid and parents. then the rest of the guest sit at another long table. I was thinking of the flip flops too but the size can be an issues. I was thinking of waiting to see how many ppl are coming and maybe call for sizes. I gave everyone until Oct 1st to reply my RSVP so I still have a little more then a month to get the exact #.

sperger, Can you send the link of the menu..I can't seem to find it! Good question! i would bring cds since I don't have an ipod and no need for it other then the wedding, so I think cds will work. I spoke to Carolina about the dancing at the restaurant. She said it's not allowed only if your getting a private dinner. Thats when you can get a dj. But she was really nice and said she allow me to do the wife and husband's first dance. I'm sure you'll be able to do this too if you decide on not doing private dinner.
-
Perfect, since I've ask Carolina for the patio at La Uva. I'm a streeful bride. So when I decided to go destination style, allowing someone else to plan my wedding. I said to myself I would stand back. Wait until I got there and then plan everything (restaruant, menu, decro, cake) then and not worry about it until then (having hard time, not asking for a thousand pictures and questions) Did anyone do the sand ceremony? did the judge put this in with this words? Or would it be someone i would have to do afterwards on my own? with a friend or family member.
-
AH nice, good school! well we've had no summer this year again, and horrible winters. This is why we need to destination!! Dry cold?! I'm not sure all I know it's soo cold I don't bother going out! lol would you come back to mtl?
-
This is so fun!! so you'll be married the day before me!! so excited!! I'll also be there for your wedding!! I'm not sending anything over a head of time (I think the would end up losing it) I am doing OOT bags but have no idea what I am going to put in them yet. I haven't thought of a decro. I really thought they'd have everything I could possibly need. I am bring flutes, favours (which ones can't decided yet) like you I'm only getting my full guest list in Oct. So if anyone has ideas for me for OOT bags and what to put in them. If your bring decro, let me know what your bring, maybe I'll want to do the same!!
