I booked the wedding myself. I have set up a website for our guest to check out with all the travel info so they can book for themselves, alot cheaper. I did go to a TA and they were giving me high quotes like 1400$ leaving from Montreal, but on the websites I can get the price for 1278$. I am suprised the dates aren't out yet for you. Just give it a few more weeks I'm sure by then they will be there! (Don't bother with expida they never have it, you'd have to call them)
  2. Well I live in Montreal, if you know anything about our shopping, I went on St-Hubert St. And I knew they would have the end of season sale. It's also where I got my wedding shoes for $49(not that much of a sale tho) It was funny when I went back to get my shoes all the sandals were off the all the racks.Ha I got lucky. They are nothing fancy ... Carolina will print your menu's once you have pick with her for your reception dinner.
  4. I'm sorry for some reason I thought you were in the STATES. Thanks!! I got them on sale $49.99 and their shoes for $4.99 they are the gladiator sandel type with no heel
  5. Oh wow! your newly engaged! well Congrats. I bought my dress over a year ago still haven't recieved it yet (Oct 1st). But we originally were going with an in town wedding so I bought a church dress style. I had to get a second one for dancing.I'm sure you'll find something soon. David's Bridal maybe? I heard it's good for off the rack dresses. Keep us post about your dress!

We had heard the airports may not let you take the sand out of the country...even though we brought it with us. Thanks! I only got as far for the sand not falling out. I'm getting the heart shape one with a bottle like cover, so once we are done with the sand ceremony we just put the cap on and we transfer it back to the room. I still haven't figured out how to bring it home without it breaking. And I didn't know sometimes they wont let you being the sand back. Even if it's colored sand?

Looks like I've got a busy couple months ahead of me! Congrats on getting your dresses in though! Can't wait to see them, but I'm no help in getting anything attached either sorry and here I thought I was behind on things. Most brides that are getting married around our date have their FI and GM outfits!! Hurry on the dress, especially if your ordering it, it could take up to 6 months! But after all we are doing a DW for a little less stressful, so don't stress lol! still trying to figure how to post pics
  8. I excited to say I've got my bridesmaid dress in!! I got my wedding shoes as well. My rings came in as well alittle while ago. Now I am waiting for all the RSVP so I can start my OOT bags. I would love to put pictures up of the dresses but I can never get it to work, anyone have good advice to putting pictures up? My second wedding dress will be in next week, and the first $$ one will be Oct 1. Things are starting to come into place. I would hope so 7 months goes by fast!

I can't wait till mine comes in!!! I ordered my dress over a year ago, and only getting it next month.I did go to a bridal store to try it on again, LOL I had to!! I too paid allot of money for my first dress so I will wear it as long as possible. But I did get an off the rack dress for cheap for the disco, and the TTD ,since we are doing AHR I wanted to keep the $$ dress in good condition for at home. The second dress I spend $95 so maybe jenmyl you could consider buying a cheap dress you wouldn't worry about getting dirty.
  10. miss di, I love the suit!!! and 50% off! that's amazing. I even told the FI that you guys got the suit and your getting married after us. Time for him to get his butt in gear. I think I'll have to drag him. If i can get one close to yours I'll be a lucky lady! echo2_62 I have the same problem, the FI works in a suit I would have like to see something different, but my dress is the church type. Not casual enough for him to go casual style!!
  11. would any of you have another idea for our first dance if it ends up we aren't allowed to do it at dinner? For those of us who are not having a private reception. I payed good money for my first dress, which I will wear for the ceremony and dinner (pictures too) then I have a lighter dress (I bought the train up so it's not dragging) and will wear this for drinks and disco (I am also doing trash the dress session with the second dress)so I'm not worried for it to get dirty. jenmyl I know it'll be hot but don't you want to stay in your dress all day for dinner then party? if you don't ,not to worry I've seen lots of brides at resort's get married then went and changed to just a white dress (this way you'll still feel like you got married)
  12. Do you guys have a moore's in the states? Or Clasy? I will be sending my FI there for his tan/beige suite I know they have really good deals. And if you want to save money you can rent them. They even have all the casual looks.

I think in total we ended up taking 9 suitcases down with us, so we had 5 of our family members check the extras. and that is exactly what I plan on doing, but I do have the worry the most of my guest may pack like I do (I always over pack, I know your allowed 2 luggage per person but it still has to be under the weigh limit which is between 42 to 50 lbs) I can pack that in one suit case for a 7 day stay lol. But I am sure no one else is crazy like me, so it'll be find. Glad I'm not the only one who will pond extra luggage off to guest!

But isn't anyone worried about the luggage weight with all the extra stuff they are bring? If so how are you guys dealing with it? any idea's?

The plan is then head over to a bar have drinks until the disco is open, then everyone can dance there. Does anyone think this is tacky?Maybe someone has a better idea

I guess it doesn't really matter (I guess!) I like your ticker, mine says the days! Also, I haven't seen any cake pictures except for the white one with roses...are there any other ones? Thanks! Hi! Congrats and welcome! I don't think it's possible to switch time unless it's due to the judge. I wanted a later ceremony but got stuck with 2:30pm (right when it's really hot) so count yourself lucky it's still early not to be to hot! I think there is another cake you can pick from (Carolina will give you 2 or 3 different pictures of cakes) you choose from there, if you want to upgrade your cake for an extra charge it can be done.If you have an idea try find a picture, bring it down with you. If your willing to pay the extra fee's I'm sure Carolina will get the chef to make you want you want!

I'll let you all know
  19. Love all the idea's I will be def. using one of them! I like the 'weddings happen because you drank to much' Did you guys give the mugs to each guest? Or per couple? And did you put them in an oot bag?
  20. I had the same problem in trying to find a resort. Something we could afford, somewhere they were offering good wedding packages. And of course how many guest was the resort allowing me included in the package (some resort say your allowed 6 guest and the 7th guest on ward is 30$) I finaly found a resort I felt people would enjoy. I sent my invites with the resort name. No one really wants to be at another resort without us. The whole point of your guest wanting to go to a DW is the whole week! If any of your guest don't want to spend the extra 100$ or so to stay at the same resort then I don't think they really want to be at your wedding as suppose to thinking it's a perfect excuse for a vacation!
