That's one part that makes table planning a little difficult. I would love to at least add them to the cake table. So maybe 6? Thanks much!! Oh yes, dogs... yup no sleep! lol poor you. I wanted a dog.. but not anymore LOL!!!! there you go,so for sure you'll be able to get 4 hours for the beach party. Hope it doesn't cost to much extra though... you'll have to keep us posted on that, pls!! I had 25 guest plus us 27. I wanted 3 guest tables and a head table for the party us and parents. However like i mention in my review (still not up yet!!) that Carolina only got my bags and direction 30 mins before the ceremony (and I forgot to mention at our meeting about how I wanted the tables) so instead we got 1 long table.I'll look for some pics and I'll post them! I'm sure you can do whatever you want for the tables and how many you want at them. JUST LET HER KNOW AT YOUR MEETING, don't pull a Tracy lol (I planned for over a year and forgot to mention half the stuff I wanted at the meeting..cause it goes so fast!!) It was amazing everyone had a great time (one of my guest's daughter is getting married..she wanted my entire play list lol) I brought both, cd's and an Ipod. He played the cd's. So i suggest mixing it the songs and put it on some cd's...I had 3 cd's. he actually started playing the first cd over again, I got someone to tell him there was more. He was all good after that!
  8. How are you feeling now?!?!!? Hope better. Yah the girls were so pretty love everything you did!!!!
  9. Sorry!! I'm a late sleeper lol!! I always wake up around 12! Until I start a new job (whenever that might be) lol You could always ask, maybe they will charge you a little more to have the bar open for an extra hour, but if your willing to pay, I wouldn't see the problem. How many holder's are you looking for?! I got them at weddingstar.com 3 for $8.

We initially thought the same thing about having the private restuarant, but I think we are leaning towards the beach if we can have a dance floor, which DJ Mannia does have. Thanks again! Aww, that's great because the beach party was the time of my life ( and I use to be a party girl lol) My fav part was when we all got to hot we'd dunk our feet and legs in the ocean to cool off. How better can it get! Yes our dj was $250, he was real good!! But If you want the dance floor you'll have to go with Mania, see if you can get a quoet for 3 hours instead of 4, since the beach party is good for 3 hours only. You can bring a few things and let her know what you want on that table! I also brought the cake cutting server and cake topper. Quote: Originally Posted by sap I'm July 17! But not stressed, just excited. THANK GOD for this site though. Without you girls, I have no idea what would have happened! Although FI says(in a kind/fun way), without you girls, we would have saved a bundle and I wouldn't have a tone of DIY projects. lol.!! Oh MY I was totally stressed!!!! But I also had last min guest coming, which then had to make up all of thier OOT bags, which is very time consuming. LOL!!!!!!!!! Yah DH said the same, who could have so gone with out me doing half of the DIY. I counted the labels I made (12 of them for everything) LOL!!!
  11. aww, thanks... but seriously it's my pleasure!!! I love doing this stuff. I just said the other day I want to be a bride again, DH loved me off lol!!!! maybe one day we can just re new our vows lol!!! I'm horrible.. maybe I should just become a WC!!!! I know omg the 3 weeks will fly by!!! I'm soooo excited for you!!!!!!

No the judge is not needed for a ROV!! I emailed her and ask her for april 10th, she let me know the days the judge was free (she gave me 3 days but I did a legal one, you have more options since no judge is needed) so I picked the 13th, since it was the closes date to the original one I picked one I had my wedding planned for Jamaica. Ohhh sounds like you had a great time for your reception Steph, any pics?!?!?! BTW I really liked the bouquet you chose, I sooo should have done something like this, but I don't remember even seeing it in the book, how'd did you get it?!?!

Any opinions on DJ Mannia? sorry I haven't heard of him, never did research for DJ's as I knew the resort had them (I also didn't need a dance floor) Is the quote for 3 hours? cause that's the time length for the beach party. I'm sure you can bring cake boxes and give it to Carolina to bring to the restaurant, she'll tell the server's. But it could get a little confusing, with ppl who ate it and ppl who didn't. What I did was I served the cake for dessert and suppose to getting a dessert from the menu. Everyone ate it. It was def a great cake (and it was big) Quote: Originally Posted by jerzshortstuff All of you girls are THE BEST! You are all so helpful! I greatly appreciate it! I just don't want to get there and them have no knowledge of my wedding taking place. Anyone experience any problems or suggest what to do to prevent these problems from occurring? Thanks again for alllll of your help! Are you looking for a legal ceremony, or a symbolic one (will you marry first in your home town?) If it's a legal ceremony, you ask for the date you want, and time. WC will then check in with the judge, she'll let you know the days and times when the judge is free around the date you ask for (hopefully the day u ask for) Once you confirmed by email you want that time and date, she'll re confirm. None of us has had any problems for not having to put a deposit. Bring your email of her confirming your time and date (you wont need it, but bring it anyway) Ask away!!! :)
  14. yes, I made sure to tell everyone not to forget to have 10p/p on the plan (this is when u fill it out) and 20$p/p to leave (you pay this at the airport)
  15. no, no dance floor.. pure sand. I get what your saying... was a little hard to dance on the sand... but lots of fun. It really does depend on what you want to do. So if you want a 'dance floor' then def go with the private reception.
  16. Glad you had a great wedding!! We also considered this resort... but I personally wasn't getting reply's back. So I chose this resort... best decision I've ever made besides marrying my husband!!! Most airline companies include the tourist card which is 10$US per person. Check with the airline company. I think it's ONLY sunwing who doesn't include it. We had 4 guest fly with them, they were the only ones who had to pay for the card and airport tax, which is $20US p/p.
  17. I got married at 6pm by the judge! so he does work until he finish's all the weddings of the day, regardless of the I time I think. The beach party isn't a BBQ, it's just a dance. You have your reception dinner. Then afterwards you and your guest go to the beach to dance and drink (open bar right there) If your on a budged, it'll be cheaper to do the beach party then the private reception.
  18. LOL, Yup bought a new BBQ, nothing fancy or special. Just one that wouldn't burn black smoke all over the food (the old one was a year old, but the heating plate got rusted) Enjoyed it today!! Def wasn't as hot as this week so it was enjoyable.. other then that pretty boring weekend if I might say and it just begun lol Quote: Originally Posted by jerzshortstuff So I have a few more questions that hopefully someone knows the answer too. Kenia (the WC assistant) sent me the 2010 ROV packages since 2011 isn't out yet. 1. Does the ROV ceremony prices increase drastically from year to year? I want to book NOW but if the price doubles I will have a heart attack lol. When I requested the wedding packages, I got the 2009 and it was the same price for the 2010 which we paid for. 2. How do you reserve your date and time? Since its a ROV can we just have it any time we want? I don't know if a judge does the ROV or if the WC does. Anyone know? I am thinking 5-6pm is best but I really don't know how it works. There is no need of a judge or priest (unles u want one, but more cost) so you can pick anytime or date you'd like. As long as Carolina (or her assistant) isn't busy at that time, you just need to pick a date and time, confirmed with them and it's all yours. 5pm you have more sun light time for pictures after the ceremony. 6pm we were rushed and didn't the get the group shots on the beach because we lost light to quickly. So knowing this may help you pick a time more easier! 3. And from experience, would it be better to get married on a Thursday or Friday? No difference, as long as it's not on a Sunday...they don't preform on this day.Whatever date you like better 4. Is a deposit required? None needed! 5. Are outside photographers permitted? Yes, and the day pass from 9am-6pm is $60US Sorry for all of the questions. Seeing that the WC is out I can only imagine how busy the assistant is, so I'd rather see if I can get answers here before e-mailing her. Thanks in advance! It's my (our pleasure) to help out, ask away!!! It can be difficult to sometimes to get reply's back from the WC cause they are so busy!! AND BTW congrats on the engagement!!!!!!!
  19. aww thanks!!! your to sweet and kind!! It was my pleasure!!! Hope it didn't take to long Oh me too I have sleep issues!!! so annoying!!!!! I feel your pain. Ohhh that's so exciting, hope you can post some pics, would love to see!!! I'm totally still in the wedding world, so much so DH says I should become a WC lol!!
  20. Ohh I have a friend who got married at the Palm Beach on the day after me, and she's been to the Palladium as well. She couldn't compare since they were both real great!! She said the Dreams Punta Cana one is bigger though Soo how are you sleep?!?!?! I could hardly sleep a little less then a month away!! Sheila I promise my review will be up soon lol (i'm so horrible!!!!!!!!!) But......... As promised with much delay (sorry about that) I put together some pics to give you a sort of idea how the beach party looks. pls minus us (I looked like crap by then, sweated off my make-up, danced my hair back down) The Enterance (behind that is La Uva Restaurant) behind us, the yellow gazebo, is where the DJ is DJ! the chairs and tables are on the left hand side (the camera is hinding it) also where the bar is sorry this is the only pic i found of the bar lol!! it's a hut kinda thing. As you can see behind us there is more chairs. I have pics of just the tables I still have to scan those tho! Hope this helps a bit, sorta of get an idea. As you can see in the sand or on us there is a spot light (which is high on a tree)
  21. Nat, Love your bouquet!!! really turned out amazing. I love the BM's dresses, they really turned out great, match everything!!!1 You looked soooooo beautiful (so different) in your dress. Your Husband is such a lucky guy!!! I loved your hair, jewellery, the way you had you make up done. Aww your sooo pretty and beautiful!!!!!!!! (so are the BM's!!!!!!!!!) I can't get over your beautiful dress (sorry I'm looking at them now and writing everything I think LOL!!!!!!!!!) ooooooohhh , my favs are the one with you at the window (all of them!!!) Ok well you get my point, I just love them all... your photographer did a fantastic job!!!
  22. Oh yes we can relate to the 'problems' in the relationship pre wedding. It's so stressful and you turn around and there they are so of course you'll take it out on them. I think I called the wedding off a couple of times (Husband never believed tho me lol) I can also relate after getting married and knowing you made the right decision. Feels amazing!!! I'll go through your pics during the day today Nat, so excited to see them.. I also plan on finishing my review today. You even got your review done!!! I look bad now that I've been back for more then a month and it's still not up! Good for you!!! :) Aww thanks for asking Nat, and for remembering, I just had my pre opt appt yesterday, and was suppose to find out the date of the actual surgery, but it's still unknow. I got all the instructions, and it looks like after the surgery I'll be on bed rest for a min of 7 days (I'm not good just lying in bed!!!) Keep you all posted though!! I've got all my thank you card's sent out. I was saying my mom convince me to have an AHR (but I'm not planning this one... only making the cup cake tower lol) My mom and rest of the family is taking care of this one. We decided, we're buying a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Next July. So I've decided to take a job (part time) to pay a few of my own bills to free up the cash. Still have to do interviews though (but found a few only english jobs!!!) Big changes going on over here. But all very exciting. Sounds like a lot, but really isn't, feel so bored!!! but yet so lazy in a way still. I guess still a little lost lol. Wendy, excited to hear all about the AHR and how it goes!!!!
  23. stunning!!!! So happy for you, happy endings are the best...so glad you got one!!
  24. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy for you that it worked out in the end and you get to spend the rest of your life with that right person!!!! Any pics?!?!?!?! lol Totally jealous, I've always wanted to go to bora bora, so you'll have to come back on and let us know how it is and if it's worth every penny to get there!!! Have fun with the rest of the planning!!
  25. So funny, cause I was going to come on and say the same thing after dinner!!! I'm so glad you guys had a blast and got some great compliments, always feel good when you hear a few, makes it all seem worth while. Any pics?!?!?! So did you wear your dress?! My mom finally finally convince me to have AHR, but we'll have it in Cornwall (where all My family is) then we'll have to go to Halifax and have an unofficial AHR for his family where I wont wear my dress, it'll be like a family get together more so (no one is willing to travel, and we can't say no to 1 party and not another) So, planning here I come again. But it'll be real simple with a midnight snack. Want to hear about everyone else AHR, give me some ideas!!!!
