I received the new Gazebo photos from my TA and I agree...totally beautiful and now I may switch from the beach to that gazebo. CarribeanLover, I was also going to have the beach reception but was a little concerned about how the aunts and uncles could dance in the sand so I asked my TA and she arranged for me to have the reception part (after the meal) at the Bohuvia (?) which is directly on the beach and they can set it up for dancing, dj, etc. It would be the same price $9 per person and I will get the dj. Also, wanted to remind all the turquoise/aqua brides that I am getting chair sashes and will gladly share. My wedding is the 12th and I leave there on the 21st. Still working on decor. I also want to get paper lanterns and dont feel like carrying any glass or anything too heavy because I have OOT bags and contents, plus the favors and the usual stuff! Have been dress shopping every weekend but haven't found the perfect one yet. Discovered 2 stores in Moose Creek which is not too far from Casselman. Going there tonight or tomorrow. Anyone been there? I went to Moose Creek!!!! The one that has the mori lee dresses, anyways. I found one of them very pushy, so I went and bought my dress somewhere else. She only had the dress in ivory, but I wanted white, so instead of telling me she can order it, she said 'white is ugly anyways, this color is much nicer" But that was only 1 woman, a big woman tall, don't get her lol I thought about dancing on the sand, and as long as people are willing to take their shoes off it shouldn't be a problem. So where your going to set up for the beach party, there is a floor or something?! I will not be hiring a DJ, just bought an Ipod and will buy maybe a bose (whatever they are call, docking system) I will have to ask someone to MC the whole thing now lol What will the paper lanterns be for? I was going to do the same when i was just going to have a free reception/dance under a gazebo, but I was told if your having it the way we are, it gets all decorated with light and stuff, maybe you wont need them anymore?

How about Dominican Republic? It's why I choice it, I and the Fi can deal with the food in cuba, but wasn't sure how many other people could, heard the beach is close to the same as Varadero, but the food is better. We were also in the same boat, wanting to go to Turcks, but knowing none of our guest could afford it. I am happy with my pick. Good luck and happy planning!!

If no one buys them...no big deal. Also for all those wanting "cash" there is something called a Wishing Well shower/wedding, look it up there are websites with clever wording for invites etc...it's simply saying that the happy couple has everything they need but could use donations towards a honeymoon type thing. I had never heard of this before and my Fiance's grandma told us about it. So just a thought. Good luck to you all. Oh and registering...is a fun way to spend the afternoon too. Thanks for sharing!!

Grrr. The only way to contact him is through a fomr on their website, and I think it is broken. I've asked Carolina for his phone # and email Congrates!!! must feel such a relieft. I have the photographer on the resort's # 1809-881-2156 This is the one he gave me to contact him when I got on the resort. Good luck with contacting him, let us know how it goes!

This thread has been pretty quiet. How is everyone doing with their work out?! does anyone find life is just taking over and it seems harder and harder to find time and motivation to work out? Personally it's been 5 weeks since I started working out and I see no results, which is very disappointing, but I'll keep at it though I didn't work out tonight lol

I guess I should clarify now too lol, I don't think there is anything wrong with a registry. It is part of a wedding regardless DW or not. We aren't doing it just because we know family and friends are all tight on cash, and for those who can come, they are saving hard core, so I thought if i did have one, people would think they still had to bring a gift. I know what you mean, when you'd like people to say 'cash would be great'... my SIL did so with us, which is perfect, she knew we wanted to help anyway, cash or gift. She ask for cash. (probably to save for our wedding lol j/k)

leahstafford Love the pictures, they turned out amazing!!!!!
-
LOL!!!! I couldn't have said it any better about asking for money as a gift!! I love it, thank you!!!! I personally give cash, I know it's what people want!!! I think people still stick with registry for the older crowd. Wow, your guest are lucky, your lucky, your parents are very nice!!!! I'd say your guest should give you guys nice gifts since they are going on vacation for free. They should realize it cost more then having an in town wedding. I'll do the linen for the bridal shower registry, thanks girls for the advice/suggestions. It's all we really need, bed sheets, even bedroom curtains, and of course new pots and pans. I still don't expect anything though.

Meghan, I think that's an amazing idea, us too we have lived together for 5 years, and we don't live in a house,we don't have room for anything lol Funny, I am too saving for a King-size bed!!!! I love how your a part of a rescue program for dogs, when I have some extra cash, I'd love to help out. You just let me know how! Maybe you guys can help, i did decided to do a registry for the bridal shower, I am not even sure I am having, I rather just be prepared in case, My mom loves doing things like that and I'm the only child. What kind of things do you put on a registry for a bridal shower?!?!?! The only things I want are bed sheets lol, I mean is this ok to put on it? Or should it be strickly wedding related?
-
I decided not to do a registry, I figured people spending so much on their vacation package to be with us, it was a gift in it's self. Should I have one incase people still want to get us something?

Erin, I also forgot to mention how much I love your dress, and how great you look in it!! Someone said they liked my shoes. Thank you!!! they are very comfy, to the point I don't feel the need to break them in, always a bonus!!!
-
OMG!! I love all of your shoes and BM dress Love the invites as well, and the e-shoots came out amazing!!!!! if mine come out looking anything like yours I'll be so happy!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I wouldn't worry to much, like everyone said your gust are there for you, and for a vaca they will run with you. To make you feel better: We had chosen Jamaica to get married, picked a resort put a deposit. We sent out our invites (formal ones) with the Jamaica resort name and the date, which was April 10. Then we got a whole lot of bad reviews, so we decided to change resorts and country lol. so I had to call 50 people to let them know we changed (that was embarrassing) Sooo at least your still at the same resort and it's roughly the same dates.

I would love to see pics of everyones shows.. get posting ladies!! (I'll be wearing either for the ceremony if it's in the gazebo, if not it'll be for dinner and party) (beach ceremony, incase my feet hurt lol)

The only problem I have about the label maker's and labels, I can't find waterproof. Only in the states, so for you guys it's great, but us canadian's I am having no luck. You will need to have waterproof labels if you want it to last even 1 day.

Shortnsweet I forgot to mention I am so sorry!!! I loooooooooooove you BM dress!!!! I especially love it in the red color. Were they $$? they look to be.

Ohh nice Negril, sooo jealous lol!! Hurry with your dress, you may not have time to order one, it can take 6 months-1 year to get a dress you ordered, you may have to look from the rack, but I've seen millons of beautiful dress's right off the rack. Have fun shopping.. do let us know how it goes!!

For the wedding itself we have our date and time and I'm trying not to worry too much about all the other details. There's only 15 of us going down so we won't be having a private reception. I went to the wedding show in Ottawa a few weeks ago and spoke with a destination wedding planner and she told me that GP in Punta Cana is her #1 choice for DW! It was reassuring to hear that as we all know Carolina can sometimes take time to answer emails! Congrates again on your degree!!! I've always wanted to be a social worker, but my body wouldn't be able to handle the stress. Good for you!!! Are you having a big fancy in town reception? That's good to hear, we all picked a great resort to get married in. Orginally I picked Jamaica, Sunset Jamaica Grand. I was so ill with stress after. So I cancelled. After I picked Palladium, i never felt better about a decision that invloved the wedding , knowing I finaly picked something right lol.. I assume she takes forever to reply because she is the only coordinator there so she reply's e-mails and sets up wedding's. I admire her lol. I was wondering how many wedding's they put on in a day.. somewhere someone said 3.. so maybe you'll find brides when you get there, they had no idea about this site. I hope for you too it's more in the afternoon. But I will be staying in my dress once it's on for the rest of the day I don't care what time I get married at lol. We spent so much on it, might as well use it as much as possible. Quote: Originally Posted by MilitaryMrs.s-to be She wouldn't give me a time at all.
