It's true tho... prices usually drop a lot a month to 2 weeks before your actual date. Find out if she even has a budged, and we all can keep an eye out everyday see if the prices chage. June being a low season, prices especially then drop so much! I always use itravel2000 Vacations - All Inclusive Vacation Packages - Last Minute Travel Deals - Mexico - Dominican Republic - Cuba - Europe and More I truly find this site to have the best prices. Where are you in Ontario?

Okay well I know it's practical to think about ahead of time but I just felt completely silly. Really, I truly believe I was the only crazy nut thinking about periods during the wedding. I actually tried to work the wedding dates/travel around it last year when picking a date. I thought maybe because i get them soo bad I really try to avoid doing anything around that time. So are you safe for your wedding/honeymoon? lol BTW Girls how is everyones work outs going? everyone still working out?

KittenHeart, lol yeah the working out hasn't been going all that well for me. Been sick a lot lately. But I def will be doing the drinking thing before going.. or even during lol I actually was going to use the photographer I used for me E-shoots and the one I booked for my orginally in town wedding. I just got an e-mail from her, telling me she can't do it anymore because she is moving during the holidays. Now I am in search for another one I found one, but his male.. I am not sure that matters. Does it ? Anyone else use a male photographer? I mean I am already nervous as it is!! lol

I think your FI and his dad is right.. it's ther loss. Family or not. They clearly don't believe your wedding is important enough to make sacrifies to come. They lose out, and miss the best day every in your family. After all there will be pictures to show them (I know not even close to them being there) Do you have a close friend that will be comming that you could ask to be MOH? I made the phone call, and now they are call the actually people we are flying with to see if we can add the extra week,I told him I would want to stay on the other side that is the cheapest lol. I will see what happens. Keep you posted. Thank you for asking

I will be worrying about the wedding stuff. Plus I will also be meeting our photographer before the day of thewedding. Plus I have a lot of people coming that has never been to the caribbean before. I know I'll feel like I have to hold their hands.. or at least make sure they are happy at all times. After all they are coming for us. I am happy to have the chance to relax after the wedding. The resort confirmed our date of June 28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited, and frantically trying to contact everyone to tell them deposits will need to be made!! I feel bad that it's RIGHT before Christmas!! Yahh congrates on getting your date confirmed.. I know how big of a deal it is. Must feel great. I am SO hurt and don't know what to do....I can't believe she would do this, she is a single mom but I looked for resorts where children had a special rate. She's known for over a year that we were doing this, and backed out before but then changed her mind after she thoguht about it. My dad also warned me that my brother is doing the same thing -- so to prepare that he may not come either. I was expecting that because he lives out west and cannot afford to get home, plus he is starting a new job. But my sister...she was my MOH...I am SOOO hurt and can't believe this is happening. Plus, I need to see her at my parents for Christmas, I do not even feel like going anymore. I can't stop crying Sorry, I had to vent because I do not know what to do. It's what we are all here for.. to listen to people who need to vent, we are all going through something similar. I am sooo sorry to hear about your brother and sister. I am imagine how disappointed it is (I am an only child) But if my parents couldn't make it, it'd also be heart broken. I don't think our resort does it. But it could be something you may want to look into. I know Jamaica had it. You can have your wedding on a live web cam, and you family can watch in LIVE. At least you and your siblings will feel like they were there in a way. And they don't get to miss out on the both of you tieing the knot. Or... you could have a very small ceremony at home (either before or after) and just have a few close family members. It'd just be lik renewal of vowels. again I am so sorry to see you so heart broken. my heart goes out to you

I had a job interview for a medical office (which would be amazing since I can relate) Must feel good to know these people are coming. And btw I love your ziggy pic. soo adorable you guys make a wonderful/cute couple. I agree with you Meghan a 50K$ wedding is just out of the norm for me. I'd never spend it for just 1 day. I prefer to go on 10 vacations to Cuba instead lol

I thougt they were kind of pricy so I went with fake flowers from the dollar store lol yeah it's just insane how much the traditional weddings cost now and days. It's just sooo much cheaper doing DW and it's so beautiful.Kind of hard to say no lol I know nothing fancy and they look fake. I figured/hoping no one will notice with the sunlight and all lol

awww... I wanted to do 2 week.. but the FI thought it'd be to long. But I told him we will be worrying about wedding stuff first week, and attending to our guest we wont even feel like we were on vacation in the caribbean like we usually do. I am not a happy camper right now. I will call our operator and see if we can add an extra week and see how our finances are. Wish me luck girls.. I need it.. more then that I need an extra week in Punta Cana!!! lol
-
LOL I just realize the FI had his jean zipper down. Thankful it's not noticeable and he is wear underwear!! lol (reason he isn't wearing the pants is because they were delayed in giving it us and so I just took the pic of the jacket to get an idea of the color)

LOL I see now. Well that sucks. I am on 'sick' I am sick once a month at least so I guess it's ok lol (I have cronh's for those who wonders why is someone sick all the time) I glad this thread was posted, I'd still be wondering. Thanks a lot for sharing this post to me AnnR -

I can't change mine anymore. I use to able to as you can see it's stuck in 'sick' but the option isn't on the top anymore. Anyone can help me? -
don't worry your not alone. I orginally planned an in town wedding, the church style wedding. So of couse my dress is the big princess dress. Then my FI realized just how much this in town wedding was going to cost, so he finally agreed to do a DW. But now I am stuck with this big dress. So my mom and I went out and bought a light fitted dress.. I got it off the rack so I payed only $95 for it. It'll be for dancing and TTD. You could also consider getting a more destination dress as a second dress for dancing/partying. I will use my 'princess' dress for the ceremony/pictures/dinner (since we spent enough on it, and after all it is the dress!)
-
lol!! sorry I really didn't like her. I totally agree with you Meghan. I would never walk into a place like that. When my mom and I were deciding on a budge for my dress I said I felt like 500$ was a lot. We ended up spending $1000 for 2 dresses. Which is more then my rent and I feel bad. But my mom wanted to( and I am an only child)so I let her lol It's insane how much people want to spend on a dress.I've seen people go into that store saying ther budged was 10,000$ Like you said a lot of these girls spend so much on their dress, I am not even spending that much on my entire wedding like you lol. I could see how the show could get annoying. I just ike the dresses lol Sooo I finally got my tote bag in. And Mike's suite. Everything is really starting to fall into place

How come I can't change my mood anymore. It's stuck on 'sick' an I don't like that very much lol especially since right now I am not sick. Can someone tell me how to do it? It us to be on the top right hand corner. But it's not there anymore Thanks!! -
she wanted a dress that was 6000$ and her mom wanted to spend only 3000$ and she through a hissy fit. In the store. An adult!!! said ' I pay so much for my clothes how could I not for my own wedding dress' or 'I payed 1000$ for so and so's wedding, I am going to spend this muh on my dress' Snobbie little bi*ch lol

OMG- did you see Friday's show.. it was an hour. Holy moly picky rich girl. I hated her lol

So yes, I do miss the leaves in the fall! I think in the past four years that I've been home two or three times. There are aspects that I miss (like the leaves) but mostly I'm happier here. Haha, I can't tolerate the humidity anymore!! I grew up down in Burlington and some in St Catharines. I really liked living down near Niagara because of all the hiking and wineries!!!!! I took FI back there a couple summers ago and he really liked it there too. So maybe one day.. maybe but not likely haha! The rest of my family is scattered pretty much around the same area extending up towards Barrie. I'm sad that I won't get to see them all for Chrismtas because we're all old enough now that we get along really well! Oh and as for Suzy - I saw her yesterday!! We went to do some Christmas shopping actually. She only got back from vacation a short while ago and has been so busy trying to get unpacked and back into the swing of things, nevermind all the busy time for the holidays! She's working on getting herself back into the BDW world after the new year when things calm down a bit. I do have to say though that her little guy Tez is the cutest monkey ever! He was such a trooper to be out with us and barely put up a fuss. Don't worry though, she's doing well and will get caught up soon enough. I'll let her know you were asking about her though! I grew up in St-Catherines. I have family there,so we use to do family vacation there every summer. I just love the falls and the strip of different things you can do. It does sound a lot better weather wise in Calgary. I suffer from arthritis (from the crohn's) and I can tell a difference with the humidity. I know it's not like there in Calgary. ok so plus 1 point for Calgary lol... Mike is really consider moving there next year. I guess I'll miss the leaves.. It's what visit's are for! Oh I am so happy you guys are able to get together. Made new friends from this site it's amazing!! That must have been fun doing xmas shopping together. I am glad she had a good vacation with her family. Aww her son sounds so adorable and well behaved. I only hope to have a child like that lol. Yes please let her know I said Hi and Marry Christmas (Hopefully I will be able to wish her a Happy New Year myself)

I am in the process of deciding between 2 dresses, one straight, long with beading around the top (simple), and the other is short with a beaded top. I am unsure, the short one is SO me, but it's my wedding and I'm not sure if I should skip it and go more wedding-like. We are waiting to hear back from the WC about confirming our date of June 28. I am disspointed to have to do it the day before everyone leaves - but the FI mom is not coming until the 26th (the rest of us arrive the 22nd). So that's the only day we could do it. Has anyone had the renewal of the vows? We want our guests to think it is the real deal, but I'm not sure if we'll be able to pull it off. ALSO - lol sorry...did anyone stay/or going to stay an extra week for their honeymoon? Our TA recommended moving over to the Royal Suites Turquesa? My FI mom will be at the punta cana part for the majority of our honeymoon, but the TA mentioned that she would not be able to come over to that part...but we could go over to her part. Any info on this? I say go for the dress that feels like you. If not you may regret it. It's your wedding and I think you should feel comfortable. Not feel like you had to buy a dress because it was 'wedding' what is 'wedding' anyway! After all we all clearly feel the same about traditional weddings since we're having a DW. So go for the one that is you! Can't wait to see the one you picked, better post pics lol I am sorry you didn't get the date you really wanted. At least your getting married and everyone will be there!! That's most important. We booked 1 week at the royal suites (Deluxe suite) But I am going back and forth (not even sure if it is possible) but I'd really like to do another week. Even if that meant to go on one of the other sides (since it's cheaper) I don't know yet, I will call the tour operator and see if even possible first. But like noonie said maybe you'll get the free upgrade for the second week. No other guest staying at any other palladium resort is allowed on the royal section. I am a member of the Palladium addicts and I am positive they are not allowed. I made sure my mother and MOH and BM's would be allowed to enter my room the wedding day to help me get ready, I was told it'd be ok but they would not be served at any of the royal bars or restaurants. I'll order room service for a snack before the wedding. I know I'll be hungry lol Quote: Originally Posted by beachbum Nonnie, thanks for the great review!!! I am like you I want different tables for the guest, not 1 big table. Carolina will ask you would you prefer in your meeting before the wedding, and just let her know what you like/want. I will do the same thing. Quote: Originally Posted by Nonnie ok, double post sorry But... I have some pictures up on Flickr now. You guys look so happy, and the ocean as the backround is just amazing. Good job for the photographer. Your dress is very nice. You looked very pretty on your wedding day!! Congrates again!!!

I had hoped that a destination wedding would make my life easier, but I realize now that I am way to detail oriented to have a stress free planning process. My fiancé and I are very excited, but we have had many hurdles to jump through this year. The air line didn’t hold our seats and we lost our original wedding date in May 2010. The invites had already been sent out so they are pretty much garbage (at $4.00 each). So now that we have secured our new booking we have lost a few guests due to the date change and our photographer, but things are getting better. I hope we have seen the worst of the planning problems, or I may regret doing a destination wedding. Sorry for the negativity ladies! I am really excited. Hi, Congrates and welcome to the site. I am terrible sorry to hear about some of the bad luck you've been having. Most of us have gone through some hurdle or what not in our planning for a destination wedding, a lot of us also feel it isn't as easy as we all thought it would be to plan a DW. But in the end it'll be so worth it. We all have a coordinator to deal with the crap when we finally get there. We will be laying on the beach, drink our fav drink. After all the ocean will be our back round for our wedding day. Can't get more amazing then that. I try to remember this every time I feel disappointed or loss. Or plain just feel like giving up. Now that you found us, it'll be a lot easier, there are so many ideas on here and us girls for support. When We choose to do a DW, we originally picked Jamaica. After we sent our invites out with all that info.. we got a how bunch of bad reviews. Then decided to check the resort out on the google map and realize the resort was in a cruise ship port bay. So we changed our location, everyone has the jamaica invites. We had to send everyone a letter letting them know of the change (it was embarrassing) Your not alone, atleast it wasn't your fault lol

I did these pictures downtown on top of it. I'd really miss it if we moved there. minus 1 point for Calgary lol!!! We should add each other on FB I'd love to stay in contact even after the wedding, I love chatting with ya. I will be Def putting some of them on our wall!! thank you for the info!! Whoa!! thats a lot. I saw a price list for the spa, can't remember where. But the price was like it'd cost me 150$ for style and make-up. Nothing else. no wash no cut. I really hope it's the same. But from what your saying I think the prices went up!!! I may re-consider bring/ doing my own make-up but I will not be able to do my hair.. not that talented lol
