My travel agent/wc up here is Luxe Destinations out of Toronto and Lisa is my WC. She didn't even want to tell me the price they quoted for the flowers, and she went back to AS and told them they have to do much much better, as the prices were outrageous and unacceptable.... I'll keep you all posted as to what happens. I have to say, I am a little upset that they are not more accommodating, even if my group is so small, and am fully prepared to fight for a different location when we get down there if I don't like what I see. I know they are still working out the kinks, but the changing stories are super frustrating! We had originally been planning on the Zalcolo Terrace -since January_ and I just found out they have a 40 person minimum two weeks ago!!!! 27dresses, I will PM you and see if I can get you that photo.

Congrats on your championship win!!!! I have the Wii Active -I think that is the same thing you are talking about Chanti, & I just started it too. Mine lets me incorporate the balance board though?! I love it, its a great workout, and is really fun too. I did that on thurs night, but its been soooooo hot here I haven't been able to get back at it since. I have gone for a swim every day though, and plan on swimming and hitting the Wii before the day is out. I have 7 lbs to lose and 6 weeks to do it in!

Hi Ladies, I have some price & pic info from my coordinator to share with you all... First, everyone ready for a laugh? The large hanging corsages on the Lomas website are $66USD each, and the small chair corsages are $33USD each. I requested pricing for all calla lily hanging corsages, all rose corsages and iris corsages -hold your breath -this is what I got back: Large Hanging Corsages for the Gazebo: · White and purple calla lilies = $410 USD each · White and lavender roses = $120 USD each · White and purple irises = $120 USD each Holy Crap!!!! excuse the expletive.... in reality what I said was much worse! Even my wc freaked out! I also got a $100 per sheet quote for the fabric for the gazebo. Also, the sound equipment for the ceremony comes with the silver package. Our ceremony is on the beach, and we were planning on having the cocktail reception in the yoga palapa. They want to charge an extra $250 to move the equipment, what 20 feet? Plus they are charging us another $250 to set up the sound system at our reception, which is another 50 feet away! I can't get over it! We also have been kiboshed (sp?) on all but two options for our reception dinner (not including the beach) because our group is so small -just 15 total. We can either go into the private Sienna room, which is nice, but is not particularly beachy and only has a view of the garden. Or the Zavas Cocktail terrace -pic attached. Firstly, that dress is absolutely gorgeous. Second, whats not DW about it? If you aren't going to be on the sand, then I think its perfect. Even if you do go out on the beach, who cares... it has a totally art deco/mermaid thing going on and that is totally beachy. With your height and build you will just look stunning in that dress... I love it, love it love it love it! Did I mention how lovely it is?? Really? Try and get a photo tonight, but if you love it and want it -go for it!

Hi ladies! I just discovered this thread and I deperately need to keep motivate with less than 6 weeks to go. So I'm joining in! I have 5-7lbs to go and toning that needs to get done and I've been having a hard time staying on top of it. Case in point, got up early to exercise this morning but its sooooo hot here (were having a heat wave), that I couldn't get motivated. I will before the day is out!

On a happier note... I picked up my wedding band today!!! It's my paternal grandmothers wedding ring, we had the center stone (an emerald) taken out and replaced with a pink sapphire to match my engagement ring! Its lovely! I will post photos when I do my planning thread!

Katie! I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's fear of flying keeping her from your wedding. It is so hard when mothers do things like that! If it is any consolation my mom won't be at our wedding either. She stopped talking to me 3 years ago when she and my dad split. A combo deal of not liking my FH and wanting me to stop all communication with my dad just because they weren't together anymore. I called her bluff... and, well, my dad will be walking me down the aisle! I'm the only child too... You have the support of your FH and you FI and that is fantastic, and we will all be with you in spirit! You never know, she may come around at the last minute. Maybe you should spring for some hypnotherapy for her?!LOL! Big Hug!

Meesh- congrats! I'm so super excited for you! Every time another one of us heads off it just makes me more and more excited for September to be here! It makes me feel so much better about the whole thing and it's great to be able to stop stressing about this important element! I ordered patio lanterns with the battery powered LED lights. I figured it would be easier for hanging without the cords. I ordered them off the Asian Ideas site at the same time as I ordered the lanterns. As for the guest booking issue... I totally understand! My Dad was right on it, he booked right away but everyone else took their sweet time. My bridesmaid, my FH's sister, still hasn't booked (final payment was due June 24th!), or ordered her dress -in fact I don't think she'll be showing up... It's funny how everyone is totally into a destination wedding when you ask around at the beginning, but when it comes to actually putting the money down and booking the trip, they all disappear. I'm expecting 11, 13 including my man & I. We invited 37. Oh well!

Hey Meghan! I got my patio lanterns from asianideas.com. There prices were good, and they had a lot of options in size and shapes for the colours I wanted. They also arrived super quick - I'm in Canada too. They also have parasols and fans too I think. I got my fans from weddingthings.ca. I have seen better since.

This planning thread is amazing, so many idea's, so many projects you did yourself! Moe, you must have some kind of energy!!!! It made your wedding so special and unique! That's the best part of the DIY! I am having my boudoir shoot next sunday, I am going to work at channeling some of what you've got goin' on there! Hey ladies... Question to you all... a friend has offed to take our wedding photos for us as a wedding present. Since the photographer dilemma seems to be one of the biggest, I think it would be a great route to go! Since she is offering the photos as a wedding pressy and we wouldn't be paying her, would she still need a permit? Anyone know the process of getting a permit? I hope you get your confirmation back really soon For you ladies who have already been married, I know some of you brought down your own center pieces and paper lanterns etc. Did the hotel charge you a set up fee for the items you brought? If so, was it reasonable? Did you have to babysit the set up, or did you just pass the stuff off and forget about it? I am bringing center piece items (tea lights, mirrored coasters and feathers) and some paper lanterns and my FH is convinced they are going to saddle us with a huge set up fee once there. Also, has anyone had a party or reception in the Sienna room? What are your thoughts/comments? That is one option for our reception, but I haven't seen any photos or heard much about it... Thanks Nikki in finding that post... I was 1/2 through the forum and skimmed the rest, sorry I missed it. We have 10 people confirmed, and a possible 4 more, plus the two of us! Nice and small, but it is making our choices for location really narrow. My FH doesn't want to have the reception on the new plaza because it is so close to the rooms... they are trying to come up with options. I'm feeling super organized in some things, and so not at all in others... Thanks to all of you on this site!
