  1. Thats a great tip.... I will try to remember it on the day... maybe I'll just walk around with my hands always in the air.... How do you become a hand model anyway? LOL
  2. Congrats and welcome! There are so many family friendly places... I know Mexico is great for that -our hotel even has daycare and a teens disco! Maybe narrow down the general locale, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican etc, then go onto some thread for info about the kid friendly aspect! Good luck!
  3. sam33, it seems to be everyone's biggest problem! It wouldn't be so bad if they offered up good photogs, but most of the choices leave a lot to be desired.... it is the on going issue on this thread... hopefully AS will be able to get it sorted out!
  4. We got engaged on Oct 31st, 2008 and I started planning and house hunting at the same time! We closed on our house and moved in Feb 1st, 2009, and we are getting married Sept 9,2009. This year has been a hard one financially... but we have managed and I'm glad we did! We plan on having our AHR here at the house too. Go with what you feel you can handle,it will all work out!
  5. Welcome! My fiance and I were together 7 years before he proposed! It is great to finally be 'moving ahead'. You will find lots of great info on this site -look in the threads of the hotels that interest you, and good luck!

    Noob!

Welcome Andrea! I am from Coquitlam! We are getting married at the Azul Sensatori in a month!!! Photogs are the most difficult part I think. We were lucky, a family friend is our photog and we are paying his way in trade for the photos!

Welcome Ashley -I have heard El Dorado is great! They should have a thread, check it out!

    Newbie!!

Welcome and congrats! There are some great threads on Cancun and the Mayan Riviera you should check them out. We are getting married in the Mayan Riviera at the Azul Sensatori on Sept 9th.
  10. Hey Grace! France sounds like a lovely place to get married! We are still working out the little details, and I am super behind on my logo, the welcome brochure and I haven't started the programs, menus or table/seating tags yet. I probably should have sent something to our guests about the activities before now... but I was hoping they would have all visited the site. Even my MOH hasn't been to it! Oh well! I am waiting for my dress to arrive and that is my biggest stress. Everything else will ultimately work itself out I'm sure! We leave on the 5th of September... it's coming up! We have put our AHR on hold. This ended up being a tough year -as it has for a lot of people- financially, so I have had to re-think the AHR. I'll start planning it once we are home. Kind of prolongs this whole adventure!
  11. I always thought junior BMs were 10 and up, so yeah, ask her what she wants to be... I don't think it really matters, just what makes you and her happy!

    Help!

    Welcome to forum and congratulations!
  13. I have one bridesmaid. She is paying for her own dress, about $200, but I am paying for the alterations, I bought her jewelry and a gift and I am paying for her hair, her pedicure the day of and a massage her day of... We are providing our best mans shirt too.
  14. Its 10:54am Aug 7th. I am at home, have a bunch of appointments this afternoon, but I'm trying to get motivated to clean the house.... instead I'm surfing BDW... I think I just need a day off.
  15. Oh, such a tough choice! I agree that olives and cottage cheese sounds a little... icky. But really, when the chefs are finished with it, I bet it will taste yummy! I am not a fan of cottage cheese, but I never complain when its in a lasagne.... I am voting chicken!
  16. Wow! You looked beautiful! I loved your flowers and your table set up was really lovely. Thank you for sharing!
  17. I'm glad to hear you have come to a decision, and you seem really happy about it! What a relief after all that crazy chaos for you. And its great to hear all your vendors are being so helpful! Thats so nice. Don't worry about the dress, I'm a costume designer and the right seamstress can do wonders. A couple of years ago I altered my girlfriends dress from a sample size 8 (she got a smokin deal) to a four and I had a week! Don't worry!
  18. Thanks for the feedback on the dress ladies! The first dress shop I went to let me take photos, this store didn't until I put the deposit down. It hasn't come in yet though, and we are just over a month away! I'm starting to panic a little.... As for the food. One thing about having an in town wedding is the ability to taste before you chose, with these DW its a bit of a crap shoot and you have to hope that since they are a gourmet inclusive, it will all be fabulous. It's one of the reasons we chose not to go to Cuba for the DW. We opted to go with the $28 meals because the whole point of a DW wedding for me was to have lobster at dinner! And really, where in Nortj America can you get a surf and turf dinner w/lobster for $28/pp? I'm sure whatever yo chose will be just perfect!
  19. I love your dress, it looks just lovely on you!!! Congrats!
  20. Wow... I am so impressed with everything you did -absolutely amazing!
