  1. I have to go with #2 as well. I like #1 but I would definitely have to see it on you first.
  2. Niki - that is very pretty! I bet the way the top is super flattering too!
  3. Wow bosi! There's no way my parents are going to be singing We do plan on having a steel drum or guitar
  4. Nrsgrrl, Any updates? Have you been able to keep the weight off?
  5. Haaaa! Very funny (coming from a Buckeye that is marrying a Wolverines' fan!)
  6. Wow very pretty! I love the neckline! PS - you're getting married on my FI's birthday too
  7. Those are hot Stacy! I love the third one - the color in it is gorgeous!
  8. Wow those are gorgeous! I personally love the diamond, and I'm also a fan of the sapphire (but I don't think that would go as well with your colors like the diamond or emerald would). It will be beautiful!
  9. Thanks vLynn! I am not very crafty so I need all the help I can get!
  10. Hmm good questions! I actually haven't made it that far yet I was thinking maybe a tie, but I see what you mean about wanting it to look more causual. I figured the best man would wear short sleeves (no reason he should have to suffer!)
  11. Amy haha your dad sounds EXACTLY like my dad. He would totally make some inappropriate death joke. I'm getting married in St. Thomas on April 27. We chose the end of April because it's the beginning of the off-season so the guests (and us) are getting much better rates. So I think maybe I should just ask my dad what he WANTS to wear right? haha instead of dictating everything? Thanks for the advice!
  12. I'm also looking at buying the Caprice. IMO, I'm going to be dressed up so I thought it was only appropriate for my fiance to wear a suit. We just got a great deal on a tan/khaki Ralph Lauren suit from Macys so I think he'll wear that. He may be a little warm, but can take it off after the ceremony and for most of the pics. Our best man is not wearing a suit though, just khakis and a white shirt. Goood luck!
  13. Wow you're so creative! I love the messges that came with the OOT bag goodies
  14. Hugrad - not all of my guests are staying there. We have rented a villa with our friends. My parents and their friends rented a villa nearby and the rest of the guests, I think, will stay at Secret Harbour Resort which isn't too far away. PM me if you nee more info!
  15. DEH - that's the dress I'm also thinking of getting! I found this post because I was searching the threads for someone talking about the dress (or better yet IN the dress). I tried it on this weekend and it was really big in my chest (which is normally NOT a problem). Are you ordering it from the bridal store or online?
  16. Wow I've been doing a lot of online browsing - not too much shopping yet. Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap) place for passport covers? I saw the post about Ebay. Also has anyone ordered their dress or bridesmaid dresses online? If so, any recommendations on sites?
  17. My dad keeps asking me what he should wear. It's a beach ceremony. I'm going to wear a gown (obviously), FI is wearing a tan suit, best man will wear khakis and a white shirt, and my mom is planning on a semi-formal/cocktail dress. My dad will walk me down the aisle so I want him to be a little formal, but not be sweating in a suit. What are your dad's wearing?
  18. That's funny because I'm pretty fair and I think I look better in white. I have blonde hair so I think with that combo ivory washes me out I think I am going with white mainly because of my coloring, but I think if you could wear either that white would look better against the sand. Either way though you want to get what looks best on you (not the beach)
  19. Welcome Lola! I've heard amazing reviews of the Marriott. I'm staying in a villa and haivng my reception there. We are staying at Sea Star (you can google Sea Star St. Thomas). The owners (Bonnie & Doug) have been very nice and accomodating. They had their daughter's wedding there for 150 people! So it should definitely be able to accomodate 70. They also have a wedding coordinator that they work with (but I cannot review her yet). Good luck! Justine - I think Trunk Bay is on St. John's, not St. Thomas, right?
  20. I did it last summer when I was studying for the bar exam. It was the best workout I've ever had! You will be REALLY sore though for about a week (and occassionally after that too). Good luck!
  21. Ugh I cannot stomach even to listen to her for 30 seconds -that would be one grueling workout
  22. I've also been looking for starfish. Thanks for the website recommendations!
