  1. We got our men's shirts at Costco for $19.99. They look exactly like Tommy Bahama and they are the same material (I think 100% silk). I love them. But my luck was not so great with the boys shirt. I went to the department stores and all of the surf shops in town...nothing in ivory or off white!! Originally I had seen the perfect shirt on Tommy Bahama webste but it was so pricey I decided "how hard could it be" to find a similar one. I had no idea!!! When i decided to give up, I went back to Tommy and they did not carry that style for boy's anymore. I almost ordered a white hawaiian shirt out of desperation but I decided to check the TB website again and sure enough they had the shirt again! They didn't have the right size but I emailed customer service and they gave me a list of stores with the right size. So I just ordered it over the phone today! I'm so happy. It is more than I wanted to pay but it will look nice in pictures. Here's the link if you are interested. It looks a little white in the photo but we saw this color - continental - in the store and it is an off white. The person over the phone confirmed that also. Boys' Fiji Coast Camp Shirt

They will send you their playlist if you ask them to. Thanks! I will email them. Can you post the play list in the event that I do not get a hold of them? Is anyone meeting with the DJ prior to the wedding? I heard that Doremixx meets with you ahead of time and was wondering if DJ Mania does too.

We had a spiritual ceremony and apparently there were 3 different scripts to choose from - one of which included the sand ceremony. We also incorporated some personal readings and like I said, my friend arranged it all about 30 minutes before the ceremony. If you want to meet with her beforehand, Ana will put in the request for you, but of course it depends on her schedule. 4) No menu cards. We had a buffett. Hope this helps! This helps a lot! I wasn't sure if the resort had one or not. I just read another thread where they mentioned. I have an email into Ana about this. I'm hoping she will share it with me ahead of time. Were you able to understand your minister? That's what I am afraid of. I really want someone who speaks good English. I also am glad that you don't think it is necessary for menu cards. I really didn't feel like dealing with them. Did you think the vase and sand that they provided looked pretty? Do you have a photo of it? Maybe I will look through your photos to see if I can see it.

  5. Laura and Carina, I'm sure you are getting tired of all the questions! I have a few questions: 1. Did you have a sand ceremony? If so, did you bring your own vase or rent one from the resort? 2. Did you meet with your officiant prior to the wedding? 3. Did you use the resort's ceremony script or did you have your own? 4. Did you create menu cards? I'm sure I have a lot more questions, but those are the most recent one's that I have been thinking of. Thanks!
  6. I think we are doing lyrics for the ceremony too. I kept going back and forth about this but I really love Enya - Only Time and Iz - Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I do think that I may want an instrumental for the sand ceremony, but I can't think of what song would be appropriate? Any ideas? (I have started a thread on this topic already) What type of intstrumentals is everyone doing for dinner? I had planned on Jack Johnson and that type of music but wonder if it would be more appropriate to have an instrumental for dinner.
  7. Is anyone using a song for the sand ceremony? If so, what song and how long does this part normally last?

I have the hardest time making decisions lately. I also think Rome Beige or Dark Beige would go with ivory if you want a darker color. My FI and Father will wear suits in English Beige and the GMs will pear just the pants in English Beige. I can't wait to see them!
  9. I was also thinking how much easier it would be to start sending Thank You cards as I get gifts instead of 100 at one time. So, just wondering what kind of thank you cards I should get. I mean, don't people usually send wedding photo cards or cards that have the name of the newly married couple (with Mr. and Mrs.....)? Obviously I wouldn't do either of these things. Should I just go buy some really good quality thank you cards from a paper specialty store? I feel like it should be a little nicer than the cards that I am using for my bridal shower (purchased at a drug store). Thoughts on that?
  10. For those of you nervous about faxing info over, have you thought about scanning your documents and then emailing them? Just a thought. Of course, email isn't always the safest thing these days either but at least you don't have to worry about your paperwork getting lost in the middle of a stack of other paper.
  11. I'm not getting married until May but have already received a few actual Wedding gifts. Should I send out the Thank You cards now or wait until after the wedding. I had originally thought I would make photo thank you cards from the wedding photos but it seems like such a long time to wait to get the cards out. I don't want anyone thinking I'm rude. So now I am just thinking of going and buying really nice thank you cards so that I can send them out when I get the gifts. What does everyone else think?
  12. Ok, I think I am almost there! This is has been very difficult for me. I think I will have the following: BM's will walk to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Iz (I love, love, love this song!!!) My Father and I will walk to Only Time by Enya (This is very pretty and sort of dramatic!) Walking back up the Aisle - either I'm Yours by Jason Mraz or Better Together (Hawaiian Version) by Jack Johnson Is anyone using a song for the sand ceremony? I think I would like to so there isn't complete silence for 1 minute (or however long that lasts) but I don't know what would be appropriate. Any suggestions?
  13. I'm trying to put together my play list for the ceremony and am looking for ideas for the prelude (while guests are getting seated)
  14. Are you guys making menu cards? I wasn't planning on it but then started looking at photos of real weddings and saw one that took place in Cabo. They had menu cards on each place setting. Are you even supposed to do menu cards for buffets?
  15. Am I supposed to spend more on my MOH's gift than I do the other bridesmaid gifts?
  16. Costco has some great shirts for $20. They are Jamaican Jaxx. They are great quality and look like Tommy Bahama. They are the same material too!

Yeah, I thought it would be easy, now that Easter is coming up. It's so weird! Maybe I just need to keep looking over the next few weeks. I haven't checked ebay. I'll do that! Any idea how much it would cost to get a shirt made? I've never done that. Who would you go to? A local tailor?

I didn't even think I cared about a video, but they did such an amazing job and I cherish it. One more important thing I must mention. Ana was the best! She works very hard and she went above and beyond to make it the most special day. More on that later. But remember, with a destination wedding, you may not be able to finalize a lot of details until you get there. But once you are there, she will sit with you and take care of it. Ana was terrific! Enjoy the slideshow... Ari & Carina Love it!! Beautiful wedding. I think I am wearing the same dress! Is it Demetrios? I would be very interested in seeing what your reception and cocktail hour look like. Where did you have your cocktail hour? I have yet to see photos of these locations and am having a hard time deciding where to have it. Did you bring your decorations from home? I was going to use the resorts turquoise for the chair decorations but my colors are turquoise and chocolate. I wonder if I should use both colors like you did. This part is hard for me
  19. I need help finding the right outfit for my ring bearer. My colors are turquoise (blue topaz is the actual color) and chocolate. The bridesmaids are wearing the turquoise. I haven't decided what to do with the chocolate yet. I'm wearing ivory so I wanted my FI and GM to wear ivory/cream colored tommy bahama styled shirts (vs white). My FI is wearing a tan linen suit and the GM are wearing the same pants without the jacket. I had planned on having the ring bearer wear the same outfit as the GM but am having a hard time finding a similar shirt for boys in ivory/cream/off white colors. I found white, but no off white. It is pretty frustrating! Any suggestions on what else the ring bearer could wear? We thought about turquoise but it would be difficult to match the color exactly. Would white look completely out of place since no one else is wearing it?

Most people who said they would come have booked. Some/Most of the "maybes" have decided they couldn't swing it. There are about 35 people (include my FI and me). This is what I figured from the very beginning.

I spoke with Ana, and she said you can use your own vendor but you must pay for a day pass (which is standard) I asked to email me this in writing and I did just get the email from her. So we are good to go!!! FINALLY!" Just an FYI, I am using my own photographers (husband and wife team) and Ana said that since I am not using their photographer, yet I am paying for it in the Ultimate Package, that I can waive the guest pass fee for both of them. Not sure what package you are going with, but I decided to do this instead of adding extra videography. I figured I didn't really need that.
  22. I have another question. Has anyone purchased the pants without the satin lining? My FI runs hot and is already not too thrilled that he will be wearing a suit. I figure it would be lighter without the lining but I don't want it to be see through. I think it said for the lighter colors they recommend a lining. What do you think the lightest color is that you can get away with not wearing a lining? Sorry lots of questions, but online purchases are sometimes so scary! I hate not being able to see it before we purchase.
  23. I have a question. My FI was going to wear an Ivory/cream colored shirt. I have an Ivory dress. From the online swatches, I think I like the English Beige. I also read a couple posts from others who thought this would be the best color to go with to match an Ivory dress. My question is, will an Ivory/cream colored shirt look good with this suit or should we go with a different color? Anyone else trying to match a cream shirt? I don't want it to look too blah (like all the same color). I wish I could see the colors but it is so expensive to order a swatch! Ughh, decisions!

For the rest of us - I'm sorry eveyone is frustrated but I agree, lets take a deep breath and remember that the pictures of the weddings at Dreams look amazing and I'm sure Ana is overwhelmed but will give us the attention we need when it's closer to our date. Our weddings are going to be amazing! If you're working with a TA, just cc her on every email you send Ana, sometimes it helps get faster responses and then your TA can be the "bad guy" and lean a little more on Ana instead of you having to do it. I booked a site visit - I wasn't planning on it but I decided I'd feel better if I could just speak to her in person. I know it's not exactly easy and we're already spending a lot on our weddings, but maybe if you're 6+ months out from your wedding you can start looking for deals to fly to mexico for a quick weekend, just to ease your mind? And of course, for anyone getting married after May 10th (when we get back from our site visit) I'm happy to take pictures and ask questions for you! Ohhh and Happy Friday! When is your site visit? We are getting married on May 7th
