  1. Where can I find good artwork/graphics for the STDs? I've been looking at the clip art that is included with WORD, and I have seen much cuter designs on the STDs that everyone else is posting. Any suggestions?
  2. I posted this on another thread but figured I would see who got back to me first. How did you create the jacket and what weight of cardstock did you use? I tried to use the template, but I got confused! I don't know what's wrong with me. According to that website, I was able to figure out the more complicated jacket. But I think I like the style of the jacket you created.

Wonder if that is better than booking them separately. Anyhoo..I should search through other threads to find my answer, i guess. I'm looking into Play del Carmen and would also be working with Jill. She sent me the initial information last week and it seems very thorough. Has she been able to provide some good quotes on hotel/airfare? Was she able to help you narrow down your search?
  4. I finally just figured out what TTD means! Ha! I have a question, as I am knew to this whole wedding planning thing. Do brides usually buy 2 dresses so that they can trash one of them? When do these photos take place? I love the one with the bride and groom in the water!
  5. I'm in the same boat and too was looking into destinationweddings.com I am a little cautious of it because I keep reading the mixed reviews. Darnit! It sounded like a great solution! Can anyone recommend one of the TAs on this site?
  6. Hi there, I am trying to get some opinions of the destination wedding planners called destinationweddings.com. Has anyone used them? I've read some good reviews but wanted to see if anyone on this forum had used them.

I didn't reserve a block of rooms, but my specialist is an independent travel agent who works with a bunch of tour operators (IE apple vacations, funjet vacations, etc) and she shops for the lowest quote for each specific guest (since a lot of them come from different airports). The guests fill out a quote form (see my website: request a quote) with their info, and she shops the price for them. Also, if they find cheap deals on travelocity or orbitz, she can price match MOST of the time. I also have an "estimated cost" page on my website that shows what she estimated from different airports. I hope this helps one more question...what is your website?

I was actually looking into destinationweddings.com and was thinking about posting a thread to see if anyone has used them. I am using a AAA Travel Agent and I like the fact that he is nearby and with a reputable company. However, it doesn't seem as though he is getting the best prices so I may need to look into other options.

I don't understand why the quotes I just got are so expensive.
  10. Thanks. These prices seem much better than the quotes I have received. I was under the impression that my travel agent would be able to get some good prices.
  11. Hi there - We are planning to get married in Riviera Maya in April or May 2010. Currently, we are still researching resort prices for our guests. Unfortunately, due to the Swine flu, our travel agent has not been able to get ahold of any of the resorts. Apparently they temporarily layed off staff. Supposedly June 1st, they were going to be back. Anyhow, I have not heard anything yet and it is getting frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there anyone who has gotten quotes on various hotels in the area for 2010? Let me know as I am trying to get an idea of what it would cost my guests to make a trip out for my wedding. Thanks,
  12. Does anyone have any cool ideas for Save The Dates? I like the idea of the passport or boarding pass. What else is there? I would love to hear your ideas.

I have been on it searching the different threads for about 3 hours. There is so much info!
  14. Michelle, Your wedding and reception sound really nice! I can't wait to see photos! It sounds like the type of wedding/reception that I would like. Who was your guitarist? Did you find an outside vendor? Were you able to hear the guitar well with the waves in the background. i had heard that sometimes string instruments are not good for beach weddings. I love the guitar and think it would be beautiful. Was the garden setting for your reception private? Is there a minimum number of guests that you must have in order to reserve this space? I think we should have at least 30 or 40 guests...but at this time it is so hard for me to know exact numbers.
  15. Hi All, I am new to this forum and have been reading through this thread for the Royal Playa del Carmen. One of the earlier posts mentioned a loungy reception on the sand. Does anyone know if that is still an option? If so, is there a minimum number of guests required? I'm having a small wedding (30-40 guests) but it sounds so nice? Any info you have on the different reception choices for a party that size would be helpful.
  16. Hi All, I recently got engaged to my boyfriend of 5 years. We are looking into a DW in the Riviera Maya and surrounding areas of Mexico sometime in April 2010. We haven't decided on a resort yet. It will probably end up being a fairly small wedding (under 50 people...possibly closer to 30). I would love to get recommendations on resorts and wedding ideas for a party this size. This thread looks very helpful and I am glad I found this site! I look forward to hearing from you. Jen
