    Jacilynda - Your pictures are beautiful! You are an absolutely gorgeous bride! Besides the WC, it sounds like you guys had an awesome time and everything went really well. I'm getting married in Akumal next June and can't wait to check everything out this coming January, 2010. Sounds like there are a few brides that had their weddings there and everybody raves about how cool the area is. Thanks for such a thorough review, I will definitely take into consideration your thoughts when planning out some of our events during the week. Congrats!!

    First of all, I think that you are totally in the right to not invite the girl who posted that message on fb. I feel terrible for your FI, because no matter how many times you tell him it was a joke and that girl isn't even your friend, it still hurts. As for your "friend", I think you are right on. I wouldn't say anything at all, just sit back and watch. I would try to keep your distance from her for your own sanity, and I surely wouldn't share anymore details of your wedding with her unless you really wanted to. You shouldn't even have to be dealing with this crap!!

    I can't believe I JUST stumbled onto this thread for the first time. Thank you so much for posting such an honest and open review. That's what these forums are for - brides to talk to each other and share experiences. I can't tell you how important I think it is that brides post both their pleasurable and unpleasurable experiences with us. If I could edit all your pictures I would!! Thanks again for sharing, and I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience.

    hmm... our DJ gave us a better deal on it than if we had to tack on an extra hour of his services, so I'll probably have them included in our package since our guests will be in a more traditional setting in rows of chairs. Thanks for all the help!

    I'm getting married on the beach and my wedding coordinator suggested that we have our DJ provide a speaker and microphone for the wedding ceremony because our guests won't be able to hear over the wind and waves. We are having about 50 guests, so it may be helpful but I don't know!! But it costs a bit more than we had in our budget Is anyone else thinking about doing this, or already have it as part of their package? Do you think this is an absolute must-have??

    We are thinking about booking Sascha Gluck as our photographer, has anyone used him before? There are a few scattered reviews on different threads, but nothing recently. He seems like he does great work, and very affordable prices. Please post if you have used him or booked him for your wedding!!

    Hi DW Brides out there! I haven't posted anything here before, but I thought I'd reach out for some advice and insight from all of you! I got engaged January, 2009 and my fiance and I are planning a DW for June, 2010. I am hoping to have our wedding at Las Villas Akumal in Akumal, Mexico. Happy wedding planning!! Chelsea
