I have also spend a good many hours going through the posts and I am still confused so maybe someone can help. I was inquiring about "Grande Palladium" in Montego Bay and recieved a 2010 Wedding Magazine which quotes 3 packages 1. Sapphire: $1700 and $20pp after 8 people 2. Ruby: $2000 and $20pp after 8 people 3. Pearl: $2400 and $20pp after 8 peopl I asked about a private reception and was told this was $45pp. So if I wanted the RUBY package and the private reception for 40 people would I pay $2000 + $640 (32 x$20) and then + $1800 ($45 x40) so total $4440 I have also seen some people say it is an additional $300 for a 'private reception' fee? Help! Previously, the resort charged a $100 an hour with a 3 hour minimum for a private reception. Now they charge $45 per person fee. They also lowered the per person food charge to $20. So no more hourly charge.

Now, with the new packages this could be a little different. Check with the WC at the resort to make sure. They move the flowers from the ceremony to the reception. The arrangements are placed on the head table for centerpieces. I saw this set up in a previous brides pics. It look lovely. The only thing she added was rose petals to the table.

I'm sure this question has been asked but I forget, is there a big difference between the Lady Hamilton & the main resort? My TA couldn't find much of a difference. I had to use the new package prices for 2010, I am getting the Ruby package. Looking into options for extra pics, music, flowers, and photos...I hope I wont go too much over my budget!!!! I guess I am rambling now....just glad I have a place I can ask questions as they come up! You get the use of both resorts they are connected. Jerseykitten covered the no children part of the Lady Hamilton. The only other thing I found is The Lady Hamilton has honeymoon villas. Have fun planning!!!!

When I asked Phyllicia at GP, it turns out they offer a Cocktail hour at 15/pp which includes drinks and hot and cold appetizers and can be done at the ceremony site or infinity bar. Attached menu - FI was like "are you kidding...it's an all inclusive resort - can't people just go hang at a bar till the reception" but I kind of like having a cocktail hour on the beach.... Any thoughts? I love the idea of the cocktail hour. Past brides have said they really do it right. I noticed that the menu you posted said that cocktails only are $6 a person.I will keep that in mind as an option. We are having the steel drum for the ceremony. It would be nice to have a drink and enjoy the music and view.
  9. The cheapest everyday location to buy cricut stuff that I have found is at ohmycrafts.com. If you register on their site, almost everyday they send out a 20%off coupon. I love my cricut almost as much as I love this forum!!!

I am not tring to argue with you I just think it is odd that we are kinda doing the same thing and we are both quoted two different things. I already had a price breakdown for me, we agreed to it and I do not see how they could change it back if we have proof from the email... I just wanted to let you know. I do not feel like you are arguing. I think you got lucky. I am happy for you. In my earlier post I simply cut and pasted the email Nina had sent me explaining the package differences. I was just sharing info. I wish you the best.
  11. Those look AWESOME!!!!!!!! What cricut cartridge did you use for the envelope? Do you remember the size setting you used? How many per sheet?

Definitely good to bring any prices quoted printed out with you so there isn't a problem when you're there! I've already started my folder. I agree with you. My budget is around the old prices and any changes now would mean I might have to give something up. I will definitely be bringing my email, just in case.
  13. Congrats! I love the tensing pen. We are honeymooning there after our wedding at the Grand Palladium.

  15. I found this website that should help you make your decision. If you click on the actual month it will even break it down by time of day. http://jamaica-guide.info/weather/
  16. I believe in Jamaica the use gourd Type rattles called Shakras. They are very similar to maracas.
  17. I just bought a similar Frame at Hobby Lobby on sale $13. They were 50% off of $24

The per person charge is for anyone attending the wedding festivities. I believe it covers the Champagne toast, addition cake, chairs with covers for the ceremony, etc. Usually, the guest list for the ceremony and reception are the same.
  21. It took some googling but I found a pic of Bubba's for you! Quote: Originally Posted by luv2sun Hey ladies. I've seen a pic of Poseidon but none of Bubba's. So far we have 34 people so any insight would be really helpful. Thanks so much!!

I completely agree with your assessment. The WC did confirm that if your have a confirmed wedding date with an old package, the new pricing will not effect you. I do not plan to switch.
