I think this will be about $15 (Canadian) in shipping. YAY!! This is my first DIY project and I'm so excited about it Emme which holder did you order to use for the luggage tags? I only see the hard plastic ones.
  2. Try checking in the "travel-sized" toiletries section of drugstores, I know London Drugs has a huuuge section of random things like that. I'll take a look next time I'm there and see if I can find anything.
  3. Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know how helpful this thread has been. I've been wondering what I should do and now I think I'll check out a TA from this site.
  4. Oh my gosh you are so fricken creative!!! Everything looks gorgeous. My favorite is your mini tequilla bottles with personalized labels. I'd like to make some for my wedding too. Is your logo printed onto stickers? How do I do it?? Please help the creatively-challenged!!

Jaclyn & Marc Hi Jaclyn! Congratulations and welcome to the site! I've been watching this thread and thinking about booking Dreams for Oct 2010. How has your experience been with communicating with the hotel? Was it hard to book so many guests? One more question: With that many guests did you get your wedding package for free? I see right now they have a special for if you book ten rooms you get the basic package for free but that doesn't include much. Thanks for your advice! ~April
  6. I read through a lot of the posts and kept coming back to one in particular that met all my needs/wants. Just browse through the comments until you find something that suits what you want. I started with a budget, then searched some online travel sites to get an idea of what my guests would have to pay, then went from there. I used the tripadvisor comments a lot too. Good luck! There are sooo many choices!!

Choose a white bouquet: I had an all-white wedding, but I love bright exotic flowers. I wish I had chosen my bouquet as the only splash of colour. And the bouquet is never truly "white"....white flowers are actually more creamy coloured. Hope this helps... Wow, LOVE LOVE LOVE these two ideas!!! A white wedding with your flowers as a splash of color.......... hopefully FI feels the same!!!!
  8. So you guys all make these up and use them in different parts of your wedding, but how do you actually get them ON to things? Like how would you have them on your OOT bags? I don't have enough points to see the actual instructions on creating them but might be able to figure something out with photoshop...? I'm so jealous of all you computer whizzes!!!

  10. That's awesome Jen! If I were going to someone's DW I would LOVE to get an email like that, and I'll definitely have to keep that in mind for when I need to be sending info out about booking. Not too pushy AT ALL.

  12. I've been reading about Riu Vallarta and think it's great but want something a little closer to PV. Is there a similar AI but closer to the city without being right "in" PV
  13. Wow, this thread has been AWESOME! I'm in BC and have never even HEARD of a "long" birth certificate! But I have noticed different hotels requiring different copies of things so I'll definitely make sure the one I choose (if I ever do) is the easy route! One more thing: Does anyone else think notary publics are kind of a joke!? (And a huge ripoff?!) Seriously. $75 to put your "stamp" on ONE document!? Gimme a break!
  14. Thanks! Great summary website! Tons of info, hopefully it can help me decide! (Doubt it though.......)
  15. Thanks guys! I've been to the Mayan and absolutely loved it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it's too far of a drive from the airport. I'd like to be somewhere 30 minutes away tops, so I think I'll be looking at either Cancun or PV. I was checking out Dreams Cancun and it seems to be a little over my families budget (the best air/hotel deal I can find is $1700 for one week). I'd like to find something in the $1000 range. The search continues! I appreciate all your advice!
  16. Hi everyone, we've just recently gotten enagaged and are planning a DW for October 2010 but haven't decided where yet. I was originally thinking Mexico since it's cheap and relatively close, but have yet to find everything I'm looking for in one resort. It needs to be "family-friendly" as my fiance has 4 nieces (ages 4-12) but I'd also like it to have options for night-life as we are inviting quite a few "party-loving" friends. Being close to some sort of "town" would be nice too to give guests options for shopping etc. The more I look at the DR the more I like it. What I love the most is the more "tropical" look the resorts seem to have. Mexican beaches tend to look more like the desert whereas DR beaches have plenty of palm trees! My problem is I believe the flight might be a little on the long side for the little ones and I'd feel bad making guests take a 7 hour flight. (Which I think is how long it is from Vancouver). Grrr. What to do.............
