  5. Congrats and welcome! I am getting married there too! Have you had trouble getting in touch with Carolina? Usually she is really good, but I've heard that from others. Feel free to PM and I can email you some of the stuff she has sent me.
  6. Congrats and welcome to another PC bride!
  7. I used to live in Pompano Beach a few ago, and there were two options I went to - one is the Red Door spa at the Broward mall (off Federal Hwy and maybe Sunrise?), and the other was a small place up in Pompano Beach on Atlantic, but I'm totally blanking on the name. Red Door was very relaxing though!
  8. My FI just got a poker set that had my future last name on it - the ___'s. We're not big poker players (or really, at all), but hey it was something. The other gift he got for a different wedding was a Vineyard Vines tie (they had tuxes, this was just an extra thing). All the GM wear suits to work / their offices. I think the board shorts are a really nice idea!
  9. When they say wear underwear, I think it's better if it's a nude color. This I forgot the first time I went, but, either bring a digital camera (if they will allow you to take pics in the salon with the dress on), or , a really good camera phone!
  10. I think one way to not make them feel like they have to, is including a sentence or two on your website (if you have one) that says , "we are more concerned with your presence than your presents", but if they want to still get a gift, then I say happy shopping!
  11. There's also a site I found called Wishpot, it seems very similar to foxytv's. And IMO, it's not rude at all. People asked us because they are throwing me a shower, but whenever I look at the "traditional" registry stuff, we already have it because we've been living together for two years.
  12. Congrats! Deciding on the resort is the hardest part! As far as photogs go, I have read lots of reviews for Photosouvenir, i couldn't get them for my day, or, I'm using HDC photo (also found on here), and they are based in PC.
  13. I am getting married at the Palladium chain (4 resorts, you can use the amenities, restaurants) of all - our TA got this for even cheaper than dreams. the Royal Suites is their extra level of service, similar to Dreams' preferred club. Dreams was my #2 choice, and I think I would have been happy at either Dreams too. They are all great picks!
  14. hi isa, my parents actually loved the Iberostar. I can't give you the bride experience, but my TA liked it too. I ended up choosing Palladium, but their price point is excellent. I know it's one wedding per day there, too, which is nice that you know you have their attention for your big day. The Dominicana allows kids, but it is not their newly rennovate one (I think that's the bavaro).
  15. Congrats and welcome! The Jamaica section on the forum will be really helpful!
