Thank to all of you for the welcome. Now I have some question to anyone who think they can answer them. I am getting married in the Riu Negril in Jamaica and I would like to know how does the ceremony work do we sign the papers before or after the ceremony? 2.) Do you think it's worth it to pay the extra money to have a private reception where you also have to pay $150.00 an hour for the Dj. or do you think I should just use the Semi private reception dinner that comes with the Caprice wedding package I chose and just have my guest and us chill out at the bar and then go to the disco that night and use the money for the photgrapher and videographer to take pics throughout the day? 3.) I would also like to hear from anyone who got married at this resort so I could know what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I am new on this site but read your post and I am truly sorry you have to think about this when your getting ready for your special day. I agree with many of the others. You should be up front with your father. You should tell him dad I love you and mom and I respect both of you but this is my special day and I want everyone I love to be happy as long as that does not mess up my happiness on this day. Your new girlfriend does not respect my mother and therefore, I do not want her at my wedding. You are a grown man dad and I can't tell you what to do but I am asking you as your daughter to respect my wishes. Your girl friend is more than welcome to come with you out here but she cannot come to my wedding festivities. Sorry I get a little carried away when I talk. I'm not telling what to say I just was giving you a little dialouge that might help. I hope all goes well

Hello Everyone, I am a newbie, I came across this site yesterday when I was googling comments on weddings at The Clubhotel Riu Negril. My name is Janice and my Fiance's name is Henry we are getting married at The Clubhotel Riu Negril in Jamaica on August 15th,2009 we have three months to go. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have a couple of questions that i'm sure I will get answers to on this site. I browsed through some things and a lot of people got married at ROR in Jamaica I've been to that Riu and the Riu palace in Cancun and I absolutely love the Riu resorts. I Never been to the one i'm about to get married in though. Good Luck to all the brides to be out there.
