Thanks for the suggestions! I am the maid of honor for my best friends wedding in Kona in January, so this will be a big help to the photographer. I am also a photographer and will be doing a couples session while there so it's SUPER helpful since I have never been here. On the beach, they bring the speakers out and the wedding coordinator will play and stop the music as you direct her to in the meeting a few days before your big day. Yes, after the ceremony, the hand out the champagne ASAP. There is no "dance floor" but there is tons of space for your guests to dance on the himitsu terrace. I think you do have to rent the speakers for $110 or something like that. There is a mic and the WC will pause the music for whoever wants to speak. Hope that helps. I just got back from my wedding last Monday. It was beautiful. And I agree with Nat... if possible book the bordeaux terrace, it's gorgeous and a little more private than himitsu, but they are all nice. El patio terrace is really small, and the people inside the restaurant can look out the window and see your reception. Any other questions, maybe I can help!

Maybe we should make a master list of all email responses that we have all received (since we might have asked different questions or the same)? If you girls want to, copy and paste your questions/answers into ONE email, and then send it over my way and I will make a master list. This will be beneficial in case while we are there they tell us the wedding canopy with no flowers is $175 when in the email they told us $150. My email is [email protected]. I'm binging my photographer down from Ontario. She's been to the Dominican at least 7 times in the last two years. Never to Dreams PC though, so she's so excited! I'm really excited to have her come down!

Pastor York has been fabulous with the few emails that we have exchanged as well. He gave us some different options for the ceremony wording, and said that we could add anything in at any time. He sounds so sweet, I can't wait to work with him!

My (now) husband was actually the one who picked out my dress! We had just moved to a new province, and I knew no one. I went dress shopping alone to 4 different stores but it just wasn't the same to have someone go along with me to be honest about how I looked in the dresses. He offered to go with me one day, so I said sure! We went to 5 different stores... and at the last store, it was the first dress that he saw! He pulled it off the rack and brought it to me. That was the one. We both almost started to cry when it was on me. PERFECTION... found by my hubby. I thought that was worth him seeing the dress.

What is everyone doing for music? Are you going the iPod route or the DJ route? Or no music at all?

lrdavis23 - I would be SO PEEVED!!!! I would seriously call and be like WTF. Although there is not much to do about it anymore. That really sucks, I am sorry you found out like that. Cause like what if someone was just under their credit limit, and then they charged your credit card and it was approved. That would take you over limit and then you would get a fee. It's so inconsiderate, not to mention unprofessional to charge you 8 months later. =(

WOW, I missed SO MUCH!!! That was a lot of reading to catch up on. It was nice though because work is so slow today! WELCOME to all of the new brides!!! Nothing new on the front line here, just working a lot and going to school. Same as usual. I am so glad you posted that picture of the paper lanterns ( elifrigo ), I bought some a few months ago with the intention of trying them out on the terrace when we got there to see what they would look like. So adorable! Glad I bought them!
