What I've noticed is that many resorts almost seem to penalize you for having so many people at your wedding which I think is ridiculous. I know you have to pay extra for your private event, but you'd think you should be rewarded some how for bringing them so much business. In any case, that's one thing I don't like about the Melia, which is the other resort I am considering, is that while it is so beautiful and perfect for us in many respects, it seems like for a group our size the wedding will be quite pricey, especially compared to Dreams. Hi Princess, Can you please email me the wedding package with extra's for Dreams? The wedding planner did not get back me and I cant open the attachment in your post. My email is [email protected] Thanks so much!

Hi, I am hoping you can help me. I am also from Toronto and was supposed to be getting married June 3rd at Grand Palladium in Mexico, as Im sure you know all flights are cencelled due to this Swine flu so I am thinking about moving the wedding to Ocean Sand. I cant seem to find any wedding packages or contact info online. Can you message me info? the resort looks nice but I have not seen much of the wedding sites. I dont know too much but I have to re-plan my wedding in a matter of days and dont know where to go!! Can you please help?? Thanks!
  4. Hi Ladies, I was supposed to get married at Grand Palladium in Mayan Riviera, due to the swine flu all flights from Canada to Mexico have been cancelled. I now have a couple of weeks (wedding date June 3rd) to plan a new wedding in Punta Cana. I am trying to decide between Grand Palladium & Ocean Sand. Any advise? tips? I dont know which to pick. I cant seem to find any wedding paclages for Ocean Sand. can any one send it to me? I am so stressed out, I have been planning my Mexico wedding for a year and now 4 weeks before we go I have to start over in a new country!!!!

We also did a room block through Olga (but have to pay entire balance for all 25 rooms on our credit card and collect checks from guests) but helped secure a lower room rate. We are getting married June 5, and flying down there May 30. We are hopeful that the swine flu scare will calm down and continue to be controlled. We have inquired about availabilty at the GP Punta Cana for our same wedding date, and just waiting to hear back. In 2 weeks we have to decided because that is the cut off for our room block, so if worst case scenario travel is restricted and we have to cancel Mexico, hopefully we can switch to Punta Cana. Let me know if you make contact with the wedding planner at the Punta Cana location. We are travelling from Canada and they have already cancelled all flights until June 1st (we were flying on May 31st). My wedding is June 3rd so I will see you there if we can get the dates!! Good Luck!

Thanks Lisa, I am just at a loss.....I know and I agree I just would feel terrible putting our unborn baby at risk and my FI and DR think that canceling is the only option at this time because its too soon to know what will happen. I just hope our families will not lose their money that is just another one of the million things on my mind.....We haven't done anything yet we will talk about it again tonight but I doubt anything will change Hi There, Since they have issued a travel advisory you can move the wedding (or get a full refund) with your travel agent and not go to Mexico. I am getting married in June 3rd and planning a back up in another country to be safe. As long as there is a travel advisory you are protected and can change your location. Hope this helps!
  7. Hey Ladies, I am getting married at the Grand Palladium Riviera June 3rd, 2009...anyone there that week? Are any of you worried about this whole Swine Flu and all the travel advisories being issues for Canada and the US? I have been worried about if we will not be able to go or if the flu will still be an issue then. I have been thinking about moving the wedding so somewhere else like the Dominican. Any suggestions? Help!
