  1. Malisa, I give you huge props for all of the information you shared with this forum. When we visited Milamores we saw a picture from your wedding included in the brochure. I think the new owners will keep the property pristine over the next 5 years of their lease. Pamela told us the actor Benicio del Toro stayed there and I wasn't surprised. I think a lot of brides go to Riviera Maya and have a wedding at a large full-service resort. My fiance and I stayed at Dreams Tulum and were unimpressed. Ana y Jose's place is also popular spot to have the ceremony and reception but the site did not compare to Milamores. Marie
  2. Hello All, My fiance and I just returned from Mexico and Milamores. Milamores is Paradise Found. We stopped by on Sunday and were given a proper tour of the property by Pamela. She basically dropped what she was doing to show us both villas. The property is so unique and stunning. After our tour we were given the most delicious margaritas and tried not to show how excited and giddy we were. We also visited Al Cielo and Ana y Jose and Milamores is more our style. Pamela invited us to sample the chef's tasting menu. Daniel (chef) is personable and his food was spectacular. I can see why other brides felt like princesses during their stay at Milamores. The owners are very flexible with our vision and put us in contact with several wedding planners. Thanks to everyone for the advice thus far. My fiance and I will return in November 2009 for another visit and will stay on the property. Marie
  3. I am a big fan of David Beahm and his design team. I still have not decided on a wedding location, but I would like to find out if there are lighting experts who work with Riviera Maya hotels. I am envisioning white flowers set aglow by the right lighting in either pink, purple or blue. David Beahm DesignOur Story
  4. Thanks Malisa the pictures look great! We are trying to set up a meeting with them but they have not responded in quite sometime after initially being very good about responding. I am going to go by the hotel when we are down there. Thanks again for the response. TOGirl that is the price I was quoted but I couldn't tell what that included...
  5. Hi I have a few questions that I am going to bounce off the forum. First has anyone seen or heard anything about Hotel Milamores which used to be Casa Magna I think. It looks like a cool place in a fairly underdeveloped bit of beach but I don't know about the weddings there. Also, we are looking for cakes and I have seen Turtle Bay and Pastelateria mentioned here but is there anything else? I haven't been able to get in touch with either of this places and we are heading down Friday. Thanks Marie
  6. Hello Best Destination Wedding Forum, I am planning a destination wedding in the caribbean for May/June 2010. I am traveling around the caribbean this summer in hopes of finding the best venue and vendors. I have found this forum EXTREMELY useful so far and hope to add my comments as soon as I return from the caribbean. I am looking forward to my scouting trip which begins this Friday (May 8th). I look forward to contributing to this forum in the coming months. Marie Caribbean Dest Wedding (Destination to be determined) May/June 2010
