I sent info for paypal for the fans, but never heard back. Do you still want to proceed? Thanks!

BB- I had messages from Ana for a while, but now it's mainly Lisbeth. The photos I have of cakes and what not aren't even from the planners at Punta Cana, and are instead from Riveria Maya. I don't think Lisbeth understands my questions 100% and I'm worried she'll be my planner and I'll get down there and everything will be you know whatted up! You and Benny make a BEAUTIFUL couple. I am sure everyone has said this, but you can really see the love you have for one another in your photos. 8phoneix- polar opposite? Did everything go okay? Did something bad happen?

I am also sorry for your loss. I responded to your PM before reading this message. We all jumped to the conclusion that you were never coming back because it has happened a few times now in other threads. Personally, I can understand loosing a grandparent suddenly as I lost my own grandmother years ago much the same way. Hopefully things will get better for you. Nikki

Thank you for the info! Did your friends mention if the restaurant takes traveler's checks? Also, does anyone know the price range for 2 people? Like said, I really don't want to have that kind of cash on hand.... -
THANK YOU for the review! It does put my mind to ease about certain things- but one burning question I have is this- can you choose your coordinator or are you stuck with whomever you've been communicating with? I was communicating with Ana Luisa, but now I have her 'assistant' Lisbeth and she's answering things very different from answers Ana Luisa had given me. For instance, when I asked about bouquets (specifically if I sent a picture ahead of time, would they make it) she told me, our pictures (as in what she'd sent me) are our examples. She STILL has not sent pics of examples of the boutonniere's or BM bouquet's even though I've now asked twice for them. I'm beginning to get worried about this because the cake, the flowers, etc, that is important to me.

I'm sorry to hear that....

Because of the sale, I was able to get it for about 1/3 of the price of what I would have paid in a shop here. I'm very happy with it!! Have you found a gown that fits your shape? I did! I bought it earlier this year in the spring. mine was the same thing- sample dress, cost me 1/3 of the normal cost. At the time, it didn't fit all the way- like I could only zip it half way- but I wanted it modified to a corset back anyway so it didn't matter. I've lost weight since then, so I'm thinking by the wedding- it'll be a GOOD thing that the dress laces up. LMAO My dress is up above a few posts. I don't have any pics of me in it because it's in my parents closet at the moment. Nikki -

I love your gown. I wanted that style for my own but for some reason, my shape and the ruffle type gown bottom just don't go together well. Have you already bought it?? -
I was the bride who was getting the fans but I haven't been able to get Lee to respond to my messages. I'm just going to go the OTC route.

Karla, I don't know if it helps for planning but if you want to include the time we are in the DR, our trip will look like this: June 7-June 21, 2010 Punta Cana DR (June 10 2010). Thanks! Nikki Good Luck on the upcoming (soon!) wedding!! -
I know I haven't, but I never got to the stage of sending money. It's funny too, she sent this long message about how she was from x place and wanted to give me more info about herself so I wouldn't feel nervous making the deal, etc. I sent her my addy for shipping estimate and for paypal, and never heard from her again....

I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. I hate to hear people say 'oh it's so expensive' about my wedding. Sorry, we couldn't afford a domestic wedding ourselves but people are like 'oh, if only you could have had your wedding here in the US'. And it's not like we didn't give them one year plus warning. It's frustrating, to think, okay, my wedding my life is not important to family members when you know if it were YOU going to THEIR wedding, you'd have been there with bells on. *sigh* Quote: Originally Posted by nbulldog19 hey girls- I completely hear ya. He has known for years that we were going to do a destination wedding and I got engaged a year ago. I planned my wedding a year ago to give him and others time to save. I am just so sick of being upset about it. He has always been selfish and I should expect this from him but it still hurts cuz we are really close. Austin, like Benny, has been great and keeps telling me that we cant control others decisions. I just dont get people sometimes! sorry to vent girls but its ridiculous. On another note, Bostonbride I am even more pumped about my wedding now that you had such an amazing wedding at excellence. Cant wait to hear your full review!

I must be the only one here with a good agent from DW.com..... I haven't had a bad experience with her or the whole process yet. I guess I'm blessed. She's available when I need her. Quotes don't come back slow, and they don't come back high. She hasn't been snippy with me, or my guests, and she's been in contact with most of them quite frequently. I'm really sorry that most of you haven't had the experience I had, but I will say that it seems like the good TA's are shying away from DW.com and reducing their wedding load and I think that's leaving less experience and good TA's for us to choose from.

I love this thread! So many gorgeous gowns! It's like, you see all these gowns that each bride may not have picked for herself (when looking at another gown) and you get to see really how the bride makes the gown- not the other way around. -

It's weird, I remember a friend asking me for a sample of my material and told me to take it from the inside seams. Her mom is making my veil and she is making my garter, hence wanting material to match color. Well, when you look inside my gown- you can't get at the seams. I know when you look at shots of the train, you can *see* the shadow of the seams when the sun is hitting it, but it's like the material has no seams exposed. I don't know HOW they made this gown. I looked for an exposed seam because that was another place I was told you'll sometimes find the maker's info- but nada. You'd think since this was a sample, it'd be there somewhere. But the only tag is for Schaffer's (a dress shop in Des Moines, IA) and the hang straps are blank. There's a style tag hanging inside the dress, but no maker's name. It's funny, all this time I didn't post a pic because I was worried people would be like 'omg, what an ugly dress'. silly me. Thank you for the compliment! -Nikki Quote: Originally Posted by KJT1985 Nikki - WOW! THAT is a dress! I don't know who makes it.
