Due to wind, they moved a wedding in the chapel the night of the rehearsal, set us off about 30-40 minutes...no worries... =) I was late and lost the English speaking judge...had to have it translated and they forgot to do the exchange of rings...no worries...we really let everything slide and had a blast. The DJ was GREAT, and Claudia (photog) was AMAZING. She held us together.... I will write my full review within the week, things are still a little hectic. Things fall into place and if it doesn't...you shouldn't worry...that was my theme and we had the best time of our lives!!!! Hi!!! Congrats for your wedding!!! Can I ask you how much you paid for Claudia Rodrigez photos? Did you have to pay 300$ to the resort as you haven't use the photographer of the resort? I can't wait to read your reveiw and see more pics! Also, is one of you knows if the photographers at the Del Mal does nice pictures Thanks!!! Mags -

I never rent a boat but I'm planning to do so....how exciting whout that be for the guest, right!!! I did a few reserch and I found this site : Cancun Catamaran Tours in Cancun It's a site where you can rend out a catamaran for as much as 80 people I think. It's not a party boat but it could do the trick....plus it's open bar too! I haven't have the chance to do any contacts for quote but I'm planning to do it soon Hope it will help you! Mags

We had a small group and it was perfect! Thank you very much for the info! -

If I go with one of the a la carte restaurant, are we gonna be able to do first dance and speaches?? Probably not, right? If not, maybe I should go with a private one. Thanks again -

I'm not sure about the beach as we have not gotten married yet. We are actually getting married at the Gazebo at the Del Mar which is very private. Hope that helps you out. Feel free to ask questions, we are all happy to help!! Leah =) Hi!!! I booked my wedding at the del mar for April 2011 and I was wondering if the private reception is included in the package (basic one that is 2450$) or it's just any of the a la carte restaurants (non private). I'm kind of confuse with the options for the reception. Do you think you could explain to me all the option? If you have time I would really appreciate!!! Thanks, Mags -
HI ladies, I thought that it would be easier to have a thread for the del mar brides since it's hard to find info in other Iberostar thread...there are too many pages!! I finally booked my wedding on April 14th 2011 at the Del mar!! I'm very excited!!! I took the basic legal wedding and I was wondering if we can choose our reception diner in any of the restaurants à la carte?? Thanks!!!

Hello Iberostar Brides!!! Ok, after switching places like 8 times I think I finally choose the perfect resort for my wedding!! (Iberostar paraiso del mar) I have a few questions and it'd be awsome if some of you would be able to answer We are looking to be at the resort on April 9 2011 (Sathurday) I heard that you have to be at the resort at least 3 working days prior to you wedding, is that true? If yes, would that mean that I'm just going to be able to have my wedding on the 14th (Thursday)? I also would like to contact the wedding coordinator to see if I can book my wedding date, does someone has her email adress? Is it true that the cost of the wedding is 2450.00$? Thank you sooooo much, can wait to hear from one of you!!!! Mags -

Mags replied to lanakbanana's topic in Cuba Weddings
Hi Ladies!! I have a question regarding the beach wedding (not in the gazebo), does anyone knows if they are providing chairs on the beech for guest? If yes, does anyone knows where I could see some pics of the beach wedding set up?? I've been looking everywhere but no luck I really want to have a nice beach wedding set up with white covered chairs and I'm just waiting to know if it's possible before I book. Thanks!!!! Mags -
Hi Blooroze! I saw that your are going to get married on the beach itself...are you going to have chairs for guest?? Do you have any pictures of the set up? I also want to get married on the beach but heard that the hotel is not providing chairs...have you heard about this too?? Thanks!!!!
-
Hi!! Do you know if it's possible to have a beach wedding with chairs?? I've heard that this resort doesn't allowed chairs on the beach for weddings If you think that's possible, do you know where I could see some pics of the set up on the beach?? I've been looking everywhere and I can't find some...I just saw some from the beach gazebo. Thanks!

Thansk ChristinaP! That's very helpful I actually got a quote from air transat for the Kantenah section leaving from Halifax on April 10 (Sunday) and leaving from Montreal April 8 (Friday) ...(I have a group that is leaving from Montreal and one from Halifax). As I have to get married on Thurday, my group from Montreal would have to leave the day after the wedding and I don't want that. So I asked my travel agent to see if there were other options and she said that she was going to check with other tour operator...the thing is that I think the Kantenah section only have air transat as tour operator...but I can be wrong. I can't wait to see if she's going to be able to fix things up. Do you know what are the chances that the tour operator changes their flights. That is very scary!!! I wouldn't mind so much if I would get married in RD or Jamaica as you don't have to be there 3 working days prior to your wedding, well I don't think so anyway. I don't want to get married the day before my guest leave! Thanks again for answering my questions, I really appreciate Mags

ChristinaP, Im sorry to hear that you are no longer getting married. I don't know if you would be able to help me with my questions. I know that we have to be in Mexico 3 working days prior to the wedding day. So I was wondering if I would arrived in Mexico on a Sunday...can I get married on Wednesday or do I have to get married on Thursday? Also, I'm looking to book with Kantenah side but my travel agent think I might have a better quote at the Grand palladium riviera resort. In my perspective, Kantenah seems to be pretier and seemed to have a nicer beach. DO you know the difference between both?? Thank!!!

They really are running a top-notch office there. I had been in contact with Rocio before visiting at the end of March and I was a little concerned with the slow responses. When I sat down with her during our site visit, I can honestly say all of my anxieties and worries lifted off my shoulders and I felt a breath of fresh air. She really is the most professional. helpful, kind, excited, organized, knowledgable wedding coordinator. They have everything in files, all of the upcoming wedding folders are labeled with the couples name and are filed on their desk. They honestly print everything you tell them via email and keep it in this file for when they meet with you 3 days before the wedding. Rocio is so excited to do the most elaborate weddings, which I thought she was going to cringe when she met me!... she actually jumped up and down when I told her to be prepared that I'd be the crazy bride with all the decor and flowers. I was concerned before I went that I would need an outside planner for the day-off, but after meeting with Rocio and her team, I have no doubt in my mind that they will be able to handle even the toughest request that I throw at them. They really DO want your wedding to be just as perfect as you imagined. You can tell right away they love what they do. If anyone has any questions you'd like to ask me, feel free to PM.. I actually stayed at the resort for 8 days during my visit, met with the wedding team, and really took down every detail imaginable pertaining to my wedding. I have photos galore, decided on the private reception location, ate TOO much food, picked a cocktail location, and spent a lot of time appreciating the Catholic Church (it's called a chapel but it is in NO way a chapel! it's huge and gorgeous!)... Good luck to everyone getting married here! You've made a perfect decision Wow what a nice reveiw! I'm actually supose to book my wedding next week at the GP Kantenah for April 2011. I'm a bit anxious since I don't know much about weddings that took place at this resort. The resort seems really beautiful though. We are going to be a group between 30 to 40. I want to have a nice private reception diner. Do you know the cost of the reception diner when it's private and do you know where it can take place? I also want to have a lot of decoration/flowers...do you know their options for decoration and how much it is? Sorry I have a lot of questions :S Thanks!!!!!!!!

Is this when you would decide on other details such as dinner and private space if needed? I'm not really sure...my TA told me that she made a submission to, I think it's called «vendors» in English...I just know the name in French....and we are suppose to receive a contract. I just spoke with my TA and she just received a respond but only from Montreal and we have to wait for the next one (we are tow groups...one from Montreal and one from Moncton NB). I guess that I need to sign both contract to save my week and the price...but I'm not sure...I found that it's hard to understant...I don't know if it's just me!!! Can I ask you was is you quote? Mine is 1545 from Montreal on April 1st and 1324$ on April 28th.
