wow that's *really* weird babe.. i'm like you - even if it's something bad, i'd rather know. what a sh*tty situation to be in before your wedding!!! and you've been best friends for so long! i'd be devastated. as the other BDW have suggested, be very cautious if you're gonna use her as your MOH, otherwise just make up some lame-o excuse and get a friend you can trust to be your MOH. you don't want anything to sabotage that day! do update on what you decide to do! *lotsofhugs*

Hey BDW brides! FI and I have been shopping around for invitations b/c we're on a budget. His parents are going to india in november and they were telling us how nice the invitations are there and for a fraction of the price! i googled "india wedding invitations" and came across a site that has scroll invitations for a pretty decent price. and they come in a pretty box too! they range from $1.50 to $5 each. i saw an aqua one that would be beautiful for a DW. the only thing is, they're actually located in India, so i'm not sure how much shipping is. Just wanted to share this invitation idea in case anyone was interested. Scroll Invitations, Scroll Wedding invitations, Wedding Scrolls, Scroll Cards, Scroll Wedding Cards.

I was in the same boat as Jenamie. I said i didn't like round diamonds. FI ended up going to store every day for a month to stare at 2 rings - one i said i liked from a magazine ad, and the other that was not so nice in pictures but beautiful in person. He ended up going with his gut feeling and chose the one with the round diamond. I love it! I love it even more for the fact that he put so much heart and thought into it. I'm sure your FI will love it. i think it's beautiful.

Hey girls, I have my BD shoot with a fellow BDW bride in less than a week. I went to H&M and picked up this adorable set, but i have no idea what color stockings to wear with it cuz there's no white OR black anywhere on it. could i just wear black ones and use a black boa as a prop, or... i dunno. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! ARGH. i don't know how to paste the picture here without adding it as an attachment.

wow that sucks babe... it sounds like such a stressful situation!!! i guess i'm sort of a "people-pleaser" and it upsets me when people get mad or are unhappy with things, esp. after i made a special effort to accomodate them. could you explain the situation about your sister a little? as with the other BDW brides, i'm not understanding why she wants to be on the return address. as KLC77 wrote, no one really cares who's on the return address. it's not gonna make them see her at the party and be like, "WOW. it was your name on the return address." i dunno. people worry about so much that doesn't even matter, and then in turn they put those demands onto you. i'm so sorry for that babe. There's an aesop's fable that might help you feel better... it's long, but worth the read. A Man and his son were once going with their Donkey to market. i *just* booked with Paradisus Punta Cana yesterday. it's funny, i would send in an email asking questions and it would take a couple of days for them to respond. but right when i sent in the payment info, she emailed me back that night. i've been happy with the service so far though. i'm pleased that they took the payment seriously and put in the extra effort to respond quickly. i imagine they get a ton of inquiries, so i've been patient. i feel your pain though. our wedding isn't until August and i was getting all worried about getting the date. I hope they get back to you soon!!! keep us updated! (oh, i've been dealing with Inoska Rosario, not Teresa. maybe you can try shooting her an email?)

Thanks so much for that advice mark! I originally wanted a 4pm wedding, but FI suggested 6. We were in the Dominican just in April and i forgot that the sun stays out a lot later than it does here in Toronto. hehe. so 6 will be fine, right? Will we have to worry about sandflies? sandfleas? whatever they're called....

wow that's tough babe. trying to please everyone (esp. those closest to us) is a sure recipe for stress, but we try anyway. everyone's given really good advice, so i just wanted to voice my support for anything you decide. i *really* hope you don't end up paying for the shower though... tell your mom that it doesn't have to be anything extravagant.. just something thoughtful and sweet that EVERYONE ELSE can afford to chip in to - not you - would be wonderful!

I agree with bobbysgirl. this forum IS uberhelpful. i don't think i'd have even chosen a resort by now if it weren't for all the info here. i love that everything is through the bride/bride-to-be's viewpoint so we know we can rely on it. and all the ideas!!! from parasols to boudoir photographs.. i've learned everything from BDW brides! and i love how supportive everyone here is. there's always a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. Thanks everyone!

wow that's BAD. my parents recently divorced and my dad is with (and has been with) another person for awhile. but that's nothing compared to your dad's new gf!!! who does she think she is?! it doesn't seem like she's concerned at all about anyone other than herself and possibly your dad. i agree with the other brides.. she can go to the resort, but definitely not the ceremony and other wedding events. that's HORRIBLE. i'd be SOOOOOO pissed off.

Royal_lady10 keep us posted on what you end up doing re: walking down the aisle. i'm a lot closer to my mom too. they recently divorced and my relationship with my dad basically consists of 2-line emails (hi anything new? no? take care). lol. but he's also uber-sensitive so i don't want to hurt his feelings if he doesn't walk me down the aisle. i love the idea of your mom walking you down! if your dad hasn't called you in 2 months, do you think maybe you can suggest that you'd rather your mom walk you down the aisle? surely he'll understand that... if you don't call your daughter in 2 months, maybe you've lost the privilege of walking her down the aisle?

hahaha this is hilarious b/c i was just reading all the posts about the FI or DH saying "oh well" and whatnot, when the FI calls. i tell him that i was just talking to one of his best friends, and possibly the BM, and the friend asked me if we would get mad if him and his fiancee didn't come. i was kind of annoyed b/c they go on an AI trip every year, and spend around $1500 on each trip. they're thinking of going on one this year too. so i told my FI and he's like, "eh, what can you do." lol.. just cuz you can't DO anything doesn't mean it makes it any better. that's like when someone's crying and someone says, "what are you crying about? it doesn't help anything." well it's not SUPPOSED to help anything. at least not in the pragmatic way. it helps in the sense that it gets your emotions out and lets you feel better! geez.
