  1. D*mn what a bad situation... for them AND their guests.......................... i'm at a loss for words....... that really sucks.........
  2. Haha aww that sucks. I know you appreciate your friends and all that, but it's true - it's a big day for us brides and of course it's something that we think about constantly and want to talk about. Most of my gfs aren't even in town so I don't get to talk about it much either. Thank god for this forum!!! Maybe you can start a planning thread and keep us BDW members updated on your progress and thoughts... You can even put up polls to get our opinions or just to bounce your ideas off of. We're here for you!!!

    Welcome & happy planning!
  4. Hey girls, I love this thread!!! Many of you have recommended A Thousand Splendid Suns, so i'm going to read that next. Especially since i loved Kite Runner. Just read Crime and Punishment. It was sooooo hard to get through, but I had to b/c it's just one of those books that i've always wanted to read, and I knew if I didn't finish it, in the future my curiosity would be aroused again and.. i would have to re-read everything. A Fine Balance is one of my favorite books... it draws you in completely and when it's finished, I felt like I wanted to go back into that world...

  6. Hey, I'm from Canada too, but I don't have any answers to your questions. >< Do a search on here and hopefully something will come up. With a $2000pp there are lots of resorts open to you, so have fun resort+rabbi hunting!
  7. Wow it's really thoughtful of you to help them out like this! I just graduated and don't have a job yet, but even with my free schedule, it still feels like there's so much to do, so I'm sure they really appreciate it. I hope you find all the info you need! Happy planning!
  8. Hey, fellow Canadian bride!!! Hope you find all the info you need, and congrats!
  9. Congrats! It's coming up soon! I'm really excited for you!
  10. Hi! Welcome to the forum. What sort of designer are you looking for? Like, a wedding planner/coordinator sort of thing? Or dress designer, decor designer... Let us know and i'm sure someone on here will have info.
  11. Hey! You're from Canada too! hehe. Hope you find all the information you need on here. I know i've found toooons.
  12. Haha sounds like you've done a lot of thinking already. I'm sure the information on this forum will help you. I've joined over half a year now and i'm still finding lots of things i need to learn + do! Welcome and congrats.
  13. Oops just read the new forum rules. Sorry! Don't email them to me. I will reach Junior status to dl myself. Thanks a bunch for posting the template!
  14. Geralyn, I absolutely love these! Would you mind emailing me the template too please? I don't have enough points to dl it yet. Thanks so much!
  15. FI and I are already bringing a lot of stuff, so we're going to give them out before we leave. I've re-named them "pre-travel bags" (a bride from this forum gave me this idea). This way guests will not bring stuff that may already be in there (eg. first aid kit). Working on the brochure now! so excited.
  16. Wow it's beautiful! I was just looking for one toooo! How heavy is it? Do you think it'll be a pain to bring down south? Ugh, i wanna get it too, but i'm Canada and i'm worried about the shipping & customs fees. I ordered these little tin suitcases that say "Thank you for coming" . With the personalization, shipping and customs, it went from $40 total to $140!!! >< Anyway, enough of my rant. Love your sand ceremony kit + thx for sharing with us!!!
  17. I was in the Gran Bahia Principe in Puerto Plata last year with my FI. One day before we were going to travel out of the resort, I sat on the bed counting money to bring with us. Once on the bus, I realized that I had left it on the bed! >< I was worried that the cleaning staff would take it, either to steal, or thinking that it was a very big tip. When we got back, the money had been placed neatly on our night table and not a cent was missing. I was very happy with the service there. Not sure if it helped, but each day we would leave them some tip and we also brought them upopened perfumes+colognes we had gotten as gifts but weren't going to use.
  18. Uh oh... after reading all these reviews, I'm getting really paranoid. I didn't book with either Orbitz or Expedia, but . I found their site online, then called to speak to a TA. All the guests were planning to book through them too... Is this safe??
  19. Phew. I'm so glad things are looking better for you. It *is* a really stressful time and I'm so thankful that we have each other to lean on for support and encouragement! Happy wedding planning!
  20. Wow these are adorable!!! I'd love to get them for my BMs toooooo but they're out of my budget.

  22. I like it. I think sometimes ppl can't *see* how pieces will work together until they actually see it. I was watching Say Yes to the Dress and the designer at the store said that brides often choose a dress that they originally said they didn't want. But once you put it on, it's a different story. I definitely think you should use it. It'll look amazing.
