I would confirm with Rebeca. I recently sent her our time line and final guest count and she indicated how long and how many waiters/servers/bartenders we were going to have at various times throughout the night. Just curious what location did you pick and what time are you going to start the ceremony?

I am not positive, but I think there is a full bar set up with a bartender. I think they use the same bar set up for the cocktail hour and for the reception. The tricky part, at least for me is the timing... you are only allowed 4 hours of drink service and if you need extra time than the per head charge is really expensive.

Before I give you the pricing you should know a little background-we purchased the Ultimate package along with paying a fee to rent out Oceana for the reception. (Not sure if that makes a difference, but might be helpful to note) So our pricing for just the meal (Steak/lobster tail).. is and extra ~$9 for the guests included in the package and ~$50 extra for other guests.

The surf and turf is not on the menu and I think there might be an extra charge for it, but I am not sure. Â

 We are getting married in a couple of weeks so I will let you know how everything turns out, but below is our menu which might give you some ideas:  Appetizers for cocktail hour: ( We picked our 6 all from the Mexican themed appetizers) Tostadas of beef, Panela cheese in chipotle sauce, Acapulco shrimp ceviche on on tartlets, mini tamales, mini tacos dorados, and sopes with Mexican Sausage Main Course: (Surf & Turf) Fillet Mignon on a red wine sauce & garlic butter lobster tail served with risotto and vegetables. Not sure what the first course will be yet. Cake: Thinking about the 3 milk cake and Ice cream is FI's favorite foods- so we will also have a ice cream bar as well.

I just got the following response from Rebeca ....which makes me feel a little bit better: "The spa building is being closed for renovations, but they are still offering the services at one of our presidential suites, so you do not have to worry about that, actually if it makes you feel better, we just had 4 weddings last weekend and all brides and bridesmaids were able to get their hair, manicure, pedicure, massages, etc."

Not sure if this will impact anyone else....but I just got an email from my travel agent: Â "Effective immediately the spa will be closed for renovations." Â She mentioned that the spa will be providing limited services in the presidential suite. Â Â Â

Totally sucks about the wine cellar!  Rebeca emailed me the following nightly activities a few weeks ago :  MONDAY – CASINO NIGHT TUESDAY – PIRATES NIGHT WITH DINNER WEDNESDAY – MANAGERS COCKTAIL & SHOW THURSDAY – PARIS AT NIGHT – SHOW FRIDAY – MEXICAN FIESTA & DINNER SATURDAY – ROCK ‘N ROLL NIGHT SUNDAY – COMEDY SHOW Â

I found one on ITunes....there were a ton! Most of them are really cheap like $0.99

(Another one of my random questions) For the oot bags...did anyone pay to have them delivered to the room? Were all the bags the same or did you include a name tag on each one? Also what if someone upgrades or changes rooms... how will they get their bag? I'm trying to decide if this is something I want to hand deliver or just let the resort take care of. Thanks so much!

I am currently working with Mishka....I looked into 4 different planners who were available for my date about a year ago (including dazzling details) and I never second guessed my decision and I couldn't be happier... she is great to work with and very responsive, not to mention super creative!

Had a bridezilla moment today...got an email with the following article sent to me this afternoon.. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/08/bankrupt-mexicana-airline-to-halt-all-operations-at-midnight/1 Mexicana is shutting down all operations at Midnight! Holly cow we have a logistical nightmare....The re-booking of flights are limited and so expensive. Is anyone also having this problem?

 I only got one small thing switched/transferred.... I am also not using dreams for my make-up (and hair). Rebeca allowed me to "transfer" those service to someone else. So my FI's sister will get her hair and make up done.

 I am using Mishka as my planner and she included the DJ in her total fee. (I don't think the DJ was very expensive). You might want to just email directly for pricing..he is very responsive from the few emails we exchanged. We lucked out with regards to the vendor fee and did not have to pay it. We signed our contract last year under the old contract. Yea totally agree with you about the videographer I think we will just use the one with the package and not pay extra. Good luck with the photos...sure they will turn out great.

Yea Jan. is more expensive....Also keep in mind we booked through our TA almost a year ago (9 months to be exact).... so prices could of changed. When I was researching for the best price I basically looked for a TA that matched online companies like orbitz and expedia

Your rates seem pretty high, but I know rates change base on the time of year. To give you an idea below are the rates for our October wedding at Dreams PV... rates are per person which includes taxes and airport transfers. -Deluxe Oceanview 3 nights: $267 Per Person 4 nights: $352 Per Person 5 nights: $435 Per Person 7 nights: $609 Per Person -Preferred Tower Jr. Suite Club Room 3 nights: $369 Per Person 4 nights: $488 Per Person 5 nights: $605 Per Person 7 nights: $847 Per Person (* Children are free for both Deluxe Rooms & Preferred Tower*)

We are also total music snobs. We decided to prepare a detailed play list and hire a DJ (which includes the sound system for both ceremony and reception). I was a little bit worried after reading reviews from past brides about the DJ the resort provides so I decided to go out on my own and hired: DJ Ricardo from DJ Systems. I actually found out about him in the Cabo forum and saw all the rave reviews. He is originally from PV and currently lives in Cabo, but is still willing to DJ events in PV area. So far (knock on wood) he has been awesome to work with. You might want to check with your credit card company because the conversion fees differ from card to card and let them know you will be making a large purchase out of the country to see if the conversion fee (%) can be waived or capped. (We did this with American Express)  Random question time.... So we are completely on the fence when it comes to having a videographer for our wedding...is it worth paying extra for the reception? Past and Future Brides....are you or did you video tape the ceremony and the reception or just the ceremony? Did you use the videographer provided by Dreams (through the wedding package) or outside vendor? How did your video turn out?  Thanks so much as always!

I am not sure exactly, but I know it was pretty close to $999 because with a discount and taxes the total came to around $1100ish. I am in love with my dress and looks great on....I am sure you will love it too! I have to warn you though-it's pretty heavy. (not light and flowy)

Oh sorry about that...so here is the most important part of the attachment (at least I think is the most important part) From 0 to 50 people: the charge will be 500 usd American dollars From 51 to 100 people: the charge will be 1,000 usd American dollars From 101 to 150 people: the charge will be 1,500 usd American dollars From 151 to 200 people: the charge will be 2,000 usd American dollars Also, as per for the external providers contractor, must leave a 500 usd American dollars guarantee deposit in case of property and/or installations damage. If there is no damage, such deposit will be returned once the event is over and has been reviewed by our personnel, making sure the installations were presented clean and in perfect condition without any damage whatsoever.
