  1. The parents & bridesmaids are going to walk down the aisle to I'm Yours by Jason Mraz and I chose the traditional Canon in D for my dad and me. And then we are coming back up the aisle to the mariachi band! I'm excited about that. I want them to start playing as soon as we are officially married!
  2. I bought all of the supplies to make these lights because the ones I found online and at the store had batteries that just lasted 5-8 hours. So we put one light together to test it and it's been lit now for over a week! These are such a great idea. And thank you to everyone that posted on this thread. I felt like this would be alot of work and maybe not worth it, but it's really easy and now I have no worries about my lights staying lit all night.
  3. We are not planning an AHR. I didn't even think of that, but it's a great idea. Instead we invited everyone to Mexico! So we are expecting about 150 people. People are still booking. And planning is alot of work! I am planning to send my invites out in 2 weeks. Just to motivate the last minute people to book. Our coordinator asked for a headcount 2 months ahead of time. Anyone else have to know their guest count that early?

  6. Thanks for posting! I hope to be able to download this at some point before my wedding. Just have to get the points :-)

We are getting to Mexico on Wednesday before the wedding. But we decided to get married before going down. I don't want to deal with the bloodwork, paperwork, etc. I just want to be on vacation once I get there! What day are you going down?

I've heard horror stories on shipping stuff down there. I don't think I want to take that risk! I think custom's main concern is that you are bringing items down to Mexico to sell. Just make sure you have receipts for everything in case they ask you for them! I've heard this more than once! Good Luck! Ok thanks! We were debating shipping stuff, but our coordinator told us we needed to Fed Ex it and I looked up pricing...it was like $180 a box! So we are definitely bringing it down with us. We just have so much crap. Ugh.
  9. How is everyone getting their OOT bags down to Mexico? Carrying them down or shipping? I'm kind of worried about that and I've been trying to read about it on the forum, but I'm still not sure of the best way to do it.
  10. Hi Natasha, I'm getting married in Tulum in February. I love it there! I think no matter where you pick, it'll be great. Tulum is so beautiful. We are getting married at Ana y Jose. If you have any questions about my experience there so far, just let me know.

  12. Hi Girls, I haven't been on here in a while and I was just reading all of your posts and had a good laugh! Everyone is having fun planning! So great. I am not sending my invites out until November. I thought I was doing it early! But now I'm reading some of your posts and realize I might be a bit late! I guess I'll put a rush on it...
  13. I dunno. I really have no idea what I'm talking about...but that is what my coordinator said. I asked about shipping down items and she said to use FedEx and make sure that nothing had a "Made in China" label on it.

Has anyone done this and have some advice? THank you! I have the same question! My coordinator said that we should be fine, as long as we FedEx the stuff down. And nothing can be made in China. But I'm still a little worried. Any advice?

  17. Hi! Welcome to the forum! It's been so helpful to me in my planning. Everyone is so great! We're getting married in Tulum and are expecting about 130 people. We chose Ana y Jose Beach Club for our wedding because they said they can hold up to 150 under their palapa and they could rent a tent to add on to the palapa to accomodate up to 300. So I guess that could be an option for you. Though I would think anyone could rent a tent if you wanted them too, right?
  18. Hi! We're getting married in Tulum in February and there are many hotels in the area that are in your price range. We chose hotels that are in the $150-$250 range, so I'm not sure I have what you're looking for. We used Tulum Resorts as our travel agent and they are taking care of all of our guests' hotel bookings (Welcome to Tulum Resorts). Our travel agent's name is Laura and she has been extremely responsive and helpful.
  19. Welcome to the forum! We're getting married in Tulum in February also. The forum has been so helpful to me in the planning process. Good luck!

I know, 130 people is large but it would have been larger if we had it at home. I'm happy that we picked Mexico, which helped to make it a bit smaller. We are working on our rings and invites now!
  21. Your wedding looked amazing. Thank you for sharing. I loved how it was so intimate and personal.

There are a myriad of warnings for these: # Do not launch in wind conditions that make lighting the lantern difficult. In any case ensure that the wind is not stronger than 5 mph # Unpack the lanterns away from the source of ignition. Never light lanterns whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Never smoke whilst handling the lanterns. # Before the lantern is launched, the naked flame must be supervised at all times. # Launching a lantern in strong winds, that is torn or has burn holes in may cause premature landing and fire at the point of grounding. # Check the wind direction prior to releasing the lanterns – obstacles such as buildings and trees should not be in the direct flight path of the lantern and must be at least 30 metres away. # Do not release lanterns within a five mile radius of an operational airport or landing strip or within two miles of a major road or motorway. # Do not release the lanterns in an area where the glow could be confused as a distress signal. I'm not trying to be negative nancy.. if you're having these, hopefully all will go well and I'm sure they will be really beautiful.... they're just not for me. Thank you for this post. I think this idea is so cute and I was debating it, but this helped me make my decision not to have these lanterns. I just don't need the extra headache. There's too much other stuff to worry about!

I am having a big wedding...we are expecting about 130 people. So we've been super busy coordinating everyone! I don't think I am wearing shoes. I want to go barefoot. Maybe I'll get sandals or flats for the reception since you won't see them anyway. I just want to be comfortable.
  25. Thanks for all of the advice! It's hard to decide between all of the Honeymoon Registries! We decided to go with Traveler's Joy because they charge only a fee to us. I don't like how the other sites charge a fee to us and a fee to our guests, I'd rather just one or the other. As a guest at a friend's wedding, I purchased a gift from the honeymoon registry was charged a fee. I just assumed that the bride & groom were passing the fee onto their guests and not being charged themselves. Now I realize that they were probably charged also (they used Big Day). I think it should just be a fee to one or the other, not both.
