I would like to see what the location of the ceremony and reception look like. I'm also looking to hire an outside vendor for photography. I see that you have done may weddings there. Can you provide some information and samples of your work at this resort. If you would like to contact me my email is [email protected]. Thanks!

Dreams Palm Beach?
SoontobeMrsDorsey replied to taratoons's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Hi all. I'm getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in May of 2010. I'm really stressed because I can't do a site visit but I have so many questions. First, I see that I, along with many DPB brides want to see pics of the loction. Chelymo, you said that the WC sent you pics. Would you mind sending them to me @ [email protected]? That would help a-lot. Second, does anyone know who the photographer at DPB is? And has anyone seen their work? I'm debating as to whether I should hire my own photographer, I want awsome pictures and haven't been getting a-lot of answers from the resort. Last, can anyone tell me about the flower choices? I want to make sure they have options that match my decor. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks! -

We need to get our date secured and I'm getting worried. Do you think that would be a good move? Mariana responds well to your emails? Any advice or help with WC would be great! Thanks so much! I'm also having problems with Yesica and her response time. I've been trying to confirm my date for over a week and have sent several emails with no response. I know its not her wedding but seeing that she deals with many brides and should somehow understand the frustration of waiting for something as simple as a confirmation of your WEDDING date, I can't see continuing to be patient with her throughout the planning of my wedding. I'm considering either switching to Mariana or hiring my own WC. -

Katey I haven't been to Rose Hall Suites but my cousin had her wedding in Montego Bay at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall and I have to say Jamacia was beautiful!! We had a wonderful time. I'm having my wedding in Mexico though- probably bc I don't want to be a copy cat and I've always had my sites set on Cabo. Both locations are nice but I would have to say that you have to do what's in your heart. Also, if your having a large group look at the economic side as well. I think Mexico is a-litte more economical for your guest. Make sure you consider Hotel polices, service, and accomodations as well. Some resorts have riduculus polices for weddings. That really helped me to make a final decision on the resort that I fianlly chose. Hope this helps!!

RCI - the largest timeshare vacation exchange network in the world Thanks so much! I think the fee per day has increased. The fee varies. It depends on the time of year you visit. I'm glad I invested in RCI last year. Hooray!!

Dreams brides, this helps reduce the $80 day of fee for guests who don't stay on property! Beach Golf Hi JPMO- I know that you left this message a-long time ago but I was wondering what you meant about reducing the $80/day when using the time share. Does the use of the time-share take you out of the responsibilty of the day pass. I'm wondering b/c I have a time share that i'de like to use during my wedding. Thanks

I'm worried about the quality of the wedding if I have it at this resort. Please feel free to give me any feedback. Does anybody know how much it cost to have a private reception dinner there? I think the terrace is like $500 to rent, does that include food and drinks? What about other areas in the resort? Did anyone opt for the semi private dinner? How did that work out? Thanks! Julie Hi Julie, Congrats on your upcoming wedding!! Im also getting married in Cabo next in April of next year. I know how frustrating it can be to try to figure all of this out and you can't find any answers! I was going to have my wedding at Riu but I went with Dreams instead. Although I havn't been to either, I have heard that Riu is a beautiful resort. I'm sure you will have an excellent time. What I have gathered is that Riu charges an additional $500 for a private reception (I don't think its an option for the ceremony). The $500 only covers drinks if your reception is at one of the resturants so if you have it on the Terrace, you should be fine. Howver, if you choose a place that is not connected to a resturant, you will be charged pp for food and/or drinks (I think it $10 pp per hour for drinks). I'm not sure how muschit is for food per person (somewhere around $20 to $30 pp). I hope this helps.

As I said, the following day it was 85 and not a breeze in palm trees. WOW!!! It seems like there's no way to really tell. I guess I really have to go with my heart on this one. I just looked at the forecast for the next ten days and its reporting high 80's with little chance of rain a not very windy. It took me FOREVER to choose a date. I think I'll just stick with and hope for the best, I'm so grateful for your honest response. I've been asking about weather conditions and no one seems to respnd to the question. Thanks again!!

Hi Kerry- I'm getting married in Cabo mid April of next year and the issue of weather has definately been on my mind. Although your wedding seemed to be awesome, I'm from Chicago and if I want wind, I can have that here! Was this the kind of weather that you experienced the whole time you were there? Would you recommend an April wedding in Cabo? It's still early enough for me to change my date. Whats your advice?

Cabo Dreams Site Visit March 20th-24th

My wedding is booked for October 26th, 2009 so we decided to do our site visit and stay at Dreams March 22nd through the 24th. It was my first time seeing and actually staying at Dreams and let me tell you, it was wonderful! Dreams: Overall a great hotel. All-inclusive is the best way to go when you want to gather a variety of people like we are for our wedding. The rooms were HUGE, and I only had a Jr Suite, I cant imagine how big the honeymoon or onebr suites are. The room was very clean. Maid and turn down service twice a day. The food at the resort was way better than I expected. All the resturants had good quality, fresh food with alot of variety between all the resturants. We literally ate every 2 hours , it was ridiculous! I ate more in 1 day than I do a whole week back home. Drinks were also very good. A little on the weak side, but then again all I kept ordering were pina coladas and blended mixed drinks. Once we started ordering mojitos and rum and cokes those were a different story. We did our tasting for the reception and honestly we had such a hard time deciding on what we wanted to serve at the reception because everything was good. We ended up going for the ahi tuna for our salad, and the surf and turf and salmon/scallop for our entrees and the tiramisu for our dessert. I've craved that tiramisu everyday since we've left cabo. WC Yarai: We met with Yarai to go over our wedding plans. To all the ladies that are working with Yarai: you are in very good hands. She is awesome! She gave us a variety of options and always kept our budget in mind. She is very organized, professional, and very easy to work. DJs: We met with both DJ Ricardo and DJ Mijares during our site visit. We were torn because both were very nice and professional. We ended up going with DJ Ricardo. His experience was impressive, over 20 years as a DJ. We also felt that his style of DJ'ing was what we were going for. Rev. Marco.: Rev. Marco has such a wonderful calming presence about him. We talked about incorporating our filipino wedding traditions into our wedding. He was very accommodating and was actually very familiar with all our filipino wedding traditions. Theres no doubt in our minds that he will be able to deliver a very memorable ceremony for us, as well as our guest. And lastly, I know that with the crazyness going on in the news about Mexico right now safety is in the back of all our minds. Let me tell you, we felt totally safe the whole time we were in Cabo. Being an all inclusive, the Dreams resort had more security then other resorts we have stayed in. They really know who is coming and going at the resort at all times. I have found all the vendors and people that i'am working with on this site, so thank you to all the brides that have taken the time to write their reviews and answer questions. Planning my wedding would be a million times harder and more time consuming without this site. Thanks for your review! It was awesome. I'm getting married at Dreams in April 2010 and I was wondering how the weather was in March, windy? rainy?. Is is warm enough to have an outdoor reception? I'm concerned because we have quite a few guest traveling with us and I want everyone to be comfortable. -

Hi Tammy, About the cocktail hour and hors d'oevres, is that something that you add to the dinner menu. If so, what is the average pp (if you know?) -

Krebsler- its great to see a fellow Chicago/Cabo bride! You said that going a la carte is the way for large groups. I'm still waiting to hear back from Yesica, but what is the price per person for a la carte? I'm confused. Is there a different price for a plated dinner versus buffet? Also, is there a different price for guest not staying at the hotel (not all-inclusive)? I was told that there is day pass that must be purchased for guest not staying at the hotel. But is that in addition to their meals? Your help is greatly appreciated. -

Reception Food For Dreams Los Cabos
SoontobeMrsDorsey replied to brandy '08's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
Thank you so much Anna! I've been trying to get this question answered for at least a week. Was the set-up fee all you had to pay pp or was there something additional? I'm having at least 60 guest and paying $60 to $70 pp for additional guest (outside of my package) plus day passes for those not staying at Dreams, isnt up my ally. Thats why I choose to do a DW in the first place- to save $$$!!!!
