  1. I am so sorry about all of the drama! Not sure about invite etiquette, but as for destinations... we are taking our engagement pictures in Sedona next week and going to Vegas for our legal ceremony. I have been to beautiful weddings at both places and had a blast at both. Good luck with whatever you pick!!!
  2. OK. I'm addicted... to woot.com (Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM)). They usuallly sell 1 random item a day at a big discount and charge $5 shipping. FI buys junk all the time - iRobot, Dyson vacuum, iPod case, random shirts. There is a woot-off today and between that and BDW I haven't done a dang thing at work. LOL FI got me this shirt from there last week (we got engaged under the Eiffel Tower). Woot Shirt : One Shirt, No Shoes, No Service (SM) Anybody else woot??
  3. I just love the 2 beach chair theme. Voted for #1 probably because it is close to the picture I used
  4. LOL. Thanks for sharing!!! I just finished Day 7 of P90X and wanted to punch Tony Horton in the face. This post totally made my day :)
  5. This is great Jac! I just PMd you with my order. Hopefully we are close to 300!!
  6. Hmmm... difficult choice as we mostly drink bottles in Mexico, but at home it's the regular koozies that get used on a daily basis. I would say buy the regular ones becuase you can use them for cans, cups, and sometimes bottles. And I love the picture of the 2 chairs, we are using one similar to that on a ton of our stuff Keep the swine sayings... people will laugh about it for a long time after the wedding.
  7. I used printsmadeeasy.com for my save the date postcards. See the thread below. I went with them because I could print out 1 sample at a time (for about $0.67) and have them ship it to me to look at before I sent them. I also found coupons online for 30% off of your first order. Not sure if Vista does this, but printsmadeeasy also lets you upload your addresses and will send out the cards at a discounted rate. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t41121
  8. Started P90X today! OMG... it's killer. I think the worst thing was that we took pictures for comparison in 90 days. Yuk. But it will so be worth it :)
  9. That is great news, but I am so jealous! She is booked for my date... sadness.
  10. I've been going through the same nonsense with my side of the family. Mom “wouldn't let me†send out save the dates to anyone and has proceeded to call me rude, arrogant, selfish, while also telling me to stop thinking that people have indispensible funds to spend on me. She is so crazy she made my dad cry and is forcing my brothers to fly with her. What a nightmare. This is on top of the snippy emails and IMs that keep coming in from people… “Why do you have to get married in Mexico, blah, blah, blah?†For some reason all of the negativity seems to really downgrade the positive responses of “Woo Hoo! Vaca in Mexico!†Quote: Originally Posted by BeautifulBridetoBe A thick skin is necessary, and so is a firm, sweet spirit. You'll have a daiquri in their honour. I think I am going to take the daiquiri advice and even push it further. Maybe I’ll include something in the invites or on our wed-site to the effect of it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. “If you are unable to attend, we ask for your presence in thought, prayer and celebration. At 5 PM CST on Dec 5, 2009, wherever you are in the world, grab a margarita, raise your glass, and join us in celebrating our new adventure together!â€
  11. These are from printsmadeeasy.com. It is a way awesome site with tons of ideas that are super cheap. They also have deals on your first order and will print and send them for you
  12. My take on the food is that you are at an AI so if the dinner stinks your guests can find something else with little effort Also my FI is way picky on food so we mixed and matched for dinner and Rebeca said it was no problem. Poblano soup Crab and citrus salad in mango vinaigrette Chicken breast foretiere Mashed potatoes I'm curious if anyone posts that something was spectacular. It has been my experience at AIs (Riu Cabo & Sun Palace) that the food is almost always delish but never to die for...
  13. Some pics This isn't the orange I am going to use, but it paints the picture...
  14. Those are awesome! I am having such a hard time figuring out what to for my invitations with all of the cute ideas on here.

  16. Welcome to the forum and hopefully you don't have to delay!
  17. Congrats. No clue about the wind, but hopefully you can find some answers here
  18. Well I did it... I sent out the Save The Dates for Mexico in the midst of the swine flu nonsense. LOL. Although, I did not send them to my side of the family because my mother threw a conniption fit. She is already very upset that I am not getting married in the small Texas town where I grew up and the whole flu thing just pushed her over the edge. Too bad that little town has shut down it's schools because there are cases of the flu there. We're not getting married for another 7 months and I figure that since we have survived the bird flu and sars we are pretty safe Anyways, I figure I will send out the invitations 4 months before the wedding and just include the wedding invite and the AHR in the same package. I've already shared our wedsite with the people who matter. Total swine drama.
  19. This pig stuff sux. My heart goes out to eveyone that is being impacted. Remember that everything happens for a reason and you almost always learn and grow from it. Hang in there and things will work out!
