  1. Great move with the BBB. We all spend so much money on these dresses and David's Bridal makes it seem so trivial. When in reality it really is a big deal! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience Well this definitely isn't my first rant on BDW about how stupid Davids Bridal is. I usually call them the Old Navy of bridal boutiques but I think that is probably being too nice. I have been to several of them in Texas and Arizona with the same level of service or lack there of in all of them. Only one of them that is in not such a great part of town has actually been nice and helpful. If I wasn't such a cheap butt and actually found the perfect dress there I would have definitely gone elsewhere. The first time I went dress shopping I went by myself and the sales girl was soooooo incredibly rude. She had the nerve to tell me in a really snotty voice, "maybe you should bring someone with you next time so you don't waste my time" and then she stopped helping me altogether! The link below is when I picked up my dress and a whole story about how stupid the girl was. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t41617 I think that as long as people know what they are stepping into when they shop at Davids you can get a pretty good deal. My girlfriends had warned me about alterations and after all of the negativity in the store there is no way in hell I would let them actually touch my dress!
  2. We did set up the RSVP on our site and my friends and immediate family have used it. But some of the stranger side of the family is like, "why do you want to know if and when I'm coming to Mexico?" I really have to bite my tongue and not reply with something totally sarcastic So it is definitely a nice to have (because I am really techy), but chances are most people won't use it unless you specifically ask them. On a side note is anyone else ready for December to be here?!?! I still have a bunch of little things to do, but honestly feel like we could just go get married tomorrow and I would be happy!!!!
  3. We ordered FIs a couple of weeks ago and it is scheduled for delivery this week! I'll post pics once it shows up
  4. If the grat is already in the package don't tip. We were talking about tip stuff over on the Dreams PV thread and here's my take on all of it... For the wedding and reception I budgeted a $20-50 tip for the following (to be on the safe side and note that I say budgeted): WC DJ Photog Officiant Bartender Waiters Hair/Makeup Since the wedding really isn't part of the AI, I think tips are probably a good idea. I'm going to ask one of the un-bridesmaids and her husband to be in charge of the envelopes (for everyone except the WC and photog) and make some judgement calls on the tips. If Rebeca can't accept a tip I'm going to bring a gift (wine, bath & body gift basket). She has been absolutely amazing so far! Photog tipping etiquette varies pretty drastically. From what I can tell, it is not expected or mandatory. The option that I really like is a thank you card along with an offer to write a recommendation or be used as a reference. Or if your photog is from your home town a dinner invite when you pick up your pics is also an option. But if your photog doesn't own the company and does and outstanding job or does own the company and gives you free stuff, a tip would be appropriate. Also, its a good idea to wait until you get your photos before you tip or offer a recommendation... you've already paid in full for their services so no need to feel bad about waiting. As for the rest of the trip we'll bring a bunch of $ bills and even grab some pesos at the airport. I've been to a bunch of AIs and although tipping "is included" you always get better service if you are friendly with your staff and recognize their hard work. But it is Mexico and you will find the snotty waiters who expect a tip before serving you, I always say forget them and go to someone else! Just my opinions - take them with a grain of salt... or lots of grains of salt and margaritas
  5. Congrats and welcome! There are a couple of us getting married at Dreams PV on here. Check out the PV forums for some great info
  6. Got a birdcage veil with a flower for the legal ceremony then wearing it in a pouf when we go out and party afterwards. Birdcage veil ivory or white by anikharchang on Etsy Wearing an elbow length one for the real wedding ceremony, but taking it off during the reception.
  7. Love them! Your girls are going to be so impressed. I cried when I wrote my letters too. I think this wedding stuff is just tear jerking all around. Great job! And I noticed that you had more people book. Exciting
  8. woot woot! girlfriend you are hot love the last pic too. your fi is going to love them!!
  9. Jill - thats so cute! The pop of color will look great in your pics
  10. So here's my opinion on that. Take it for what it is worth! Photog tipping etiquette varies pretty drastically. From what I can tell, it is not expected or mandatory. 11. I agree! Thank goodness for forums like this. FI talks about the wedding all of the time and I swear people are going to smack him one day. I can come online and rant and rave without feeling like I'm annoying anyone... at least I hope

  13. OOooo... I really like the idea of swim shorts and sunglasses or the picture thing. The last wedding FI was in every guy got a bottle of their favorite alcohol along with a gift cert to somehwere that they liked. Every guy got something different and you could tell the groom really put some thought into it. Gift certs were great because everyone was traveling. Some examples were Captain Morgan w/ Oakley card, gin w/ golf course card, wine w/ wine bar card. There were 8 GMs so if you have fewer you could do something more personal than a gift card from the store.
  14. i didn't even realize there was a ruelala thread on here until today. love the site, but sad thats its closed for right now.
  15. Vikki that is so sweet. I don't think you've crossed any lines
  16. I'm so happy for NappyTabs emmy nomination! I think they are even better this year. And where the heck did that amazing routine from Travis come from?!?! Seriously, what is going on between Jason and Jeanine... thought they were going to make out on the stage! Great show last night. Can't wait for Kathy's recap :)
  17. I'm not sure what having the prices has to do with reserving a date? I am using a TA and she booked and took the deposit for my travel and room. She also booked my wedding package, but I sent Rebeca the $500 deposit. Make sure you follow up on the deposit to Rebeca becuase somehow mine was MIA for 3 months. I'm sure it will all work out
  18. Thanks Chantal. I love your new pic Can't remember what is on the P90X schedule for today, but I did plyo last night and my arms are still killing me from Monday!
  19. Speechless. Appalled. Disgusted. Steph - update the post so the title has studioido.net, Studio I Do and Bryce Jenkinson in the title. That way google picks it up and will be one of the first search items that comes back for other people researching him.
  20. I bought FIs suit from here. We got khaki, but they have black linen too. Black Linen Suits [black Linen Suit] - $99.00 : Studiosuits.com, Custom Suits | Designer Suits It is made in India and is currently sitting in customs in New York so hopefully we will have it in the next couple of weeks. I'll post some pics once it comes in.
  21. Along with our parents, we have been personally talking to all of the people that have mentioned going as well as the ones that we really want there so we can get a pre-RSVP count. We set up the RSVP on our website and I don't see anything wrong with asking for an RSVP there or via email. Just make sure you talk to some of the older generations that may not have a computer.
  22. congrats and welcome! my fiance actually found this site when he was surfing for ideas happy planning!
  23. Thanks for the info! We have been running into a lot walls trying to find the right stuff for the guys to wear. I'm off to Target after work
