  1. Congrats Damaris! Hope you are having the time of your life
  2. This is sooo exciting! Thanks Tammy (and all of the BDW team) for such a great forum. Good luck on the conversion (I'm sending y'all some virtual magic server pixie dust... I work in IT and sometimes just a little positivity goes a long way for these types of efforts!)
  3. Another plus of a TA... ours got us a discount on the Dreams wedding package! Total score
  4. My 2 brother's stood with me and I called them "Bride's Honor Attendants"
  5. chicago ~ have you tried contacting a TA to see if they have any available rooms? They also might be able to tell you what company might be holding rooms and when they would be released... flow ~ my BIL stayed in the old tower with his 1 year old. They booked through our TA because the rates were waaaay cheaper than Dreams or any of the travelocity, expedia, etc. sites. You might have you SILs check with a TA to see what they say about the babies. As for Save the Dates and Invitations, do what makes sense for you and your group. We only sent about 70 Save the Dates, but 170 Invitations becuase the invites included the AHR. We had 50 of our best friends and family with no drama at the DW. That's just what worked for us... april ~ personally I wouldn't worry. We had one guy who didn't book a room and just added on to a single when he got there. I started to freak over it, but then took a step back and realized that he is a grown up and should be able to handle a vacation. If you are worried, you might try hitting up the concierge to check on the bookings, but there is a chance that the TA hasn't sent in the names yet.
  6. Hi Michelle! Welcome to the forum ) Sounds like you have the perfect attitude for an awesome DW. The bonfire on the beach is way cool (one of the best decisions that we made), but I agree that you might check into the weding packages as they are so economical. I bet they would add a bonfire to a beach reception if you talked with the WC. Happy Monday everyone!
  7. You've got the dates correct, but you always run the risk of having a group of annoying people any time you vacation. We got married in Puerto Vallarta the weekend after American Thanksgiving and there are no holidays that I know of during that time. There was another wedding party of college age kids at the resort and they were super obnoxious and rude. The guys were "cage fighters" and tried to pick fights with the guys in our group... including my FIL. They were rude to the staff and all of the bartenders got to the point of completely ignoring them. They tried to crash our private rehearsal dinner bonfire, but I just asked them to leave. Essentially our group got a kick out of how stupid these people were and added a little entertainment and story-telling to our wedding weekend. Sometimes you just have to hope for the best and then take what happens with a smile... especially because... you're getting married )
  8. We flew down 3 days before and I was worried about that stuff, but just came prepared. Strapless tops and suits, lots of sunscreen, paid attention to the drinks and food instead of just stuffing my face, and the best thing was a girlfriend who brought an entire suitcase full of emergency kit stuff: http://licensetostill.files.wordpres...pg?w=450&h=300 But to be honest, the days before the ceremony were not like my normal sit on the beach and eat/drink junk for hours type of vacation. We had meetings with the WC, had to put together OOT bags, and the biggest thing is that we tried to hang out with the guests that we don't see very often. That definitely kept me out of the sun and my mind off of food and calorie filled drinks. Just bring lots of suncreen and go prepared to say no to a couple of drinks and tempting treats before the ceremony. You will be fine!
  9. Don't worry about it sweetie! Just fold the envelopes you have and it will be perfect. I don't think it looks bad at all.
  10. Thank you I made the luggage tags and now sell them at autumnjo.com if you are interested! Quote: Originally Posted by msjulie5475 Loved the thread. I was looking for the luggage tags. 14. I believe that the #10 envelope is 4 1/8" x 9 1/2" so a 4 Bar envelope (3 5/8" x 5 1/8") would fit inside. You can buy 4 bar envelopes in several colors from paperandmore.com. I order a ton of paper from them and really like the company. Pearlescent Metallic Envelopes, 27 Colors - Paperandmore.com
  15. Great ideas! What about using a single J and then have both of your names come off of it?
  16. There are a couple of ideas in this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ml#post1250297 I did "shower" items from Lush from the hostesses, but they were not BMs or part of the wedding party. IMHO I think a handwritten note is a great way to thank someone for a shower, especially if you are already giving them something for the wedding.
  17. What a tragedy. I am so sorry for you and your family's loss. I'll keep you in my prayers during this time of greif.
  18. Guiness beer soap?!?! I'm so buying some for my brother! Thanks for sharing Jess!
  19. You 2 are super cute! I love your monogram colors and the design! I voted for #2
  20. Definitely find a TA to get you some quotes. We had about the same price as Karen and flights from PHX were sooo reasonable. Like Kat mentioned, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in PV after spending 12 days at Dreams PV. The private beach is absolutely the best. And the short, cheap ride into town is a perfect convenience to your guests. Plus Dreams offers a free Jungle Trek from the resort is just amazing (not recommended for anyone out of shape), but super gorgeous and free! We have several guests making return trips because they had so much fun. Come chat on the Dreams PV thread for more info
  21. V ~ DH wore the Beige linen. I can't find any pics at work, but there are some on FB.
  22. They turned out so cute! Great job I ordered DH's Game Over shirt (in my planning thread) from them and loved all of the discounts!
  23. Crystal Havianas on RueLaLa today! Perfect for a DW
