  1. Did yoga and played kickball last night. Today is lower body. But man I am tired this week for some reason. Think I am going to buy the P90X recovery drink and see how that works out...
  2. I just got confirmation from Rebeca that the photog does not need a day pass. Just give her their name and time of arrival.
  3. We had some debate over this a while back. Here is the answer from the WC at Dreams PV. [Autumn] Can you please confirm that the package I purchased (Ultimate) includes chairs, chair covers, and all the linens for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.[Rebeca] yes, the package includes, chairs, white chair covers, white linens and bows for ceremony, cocktail and reception, tables and bar set up. It doesn't list that on what is included but I am pretty sure just white table clothes, chair covers, etc are included? Thanks, -Jen
  4. I love this idea. And agree that nailing and hammering during the ceremony might be a little awkward. Try places like World Market/Cost Plus or Pier 1 for some cute boxes.
  5. I'm with Nadine. That dress is going to be hot, hot, hot so no pantyhose for me. Are you wearing a short dress where you will see your legs? The closest thing to pantyhose that I have purchased recently were opaque tights from Target so I'm no help.
  6. Poor thing. Some people just don't think about that stuff and need their friends to help them out!
  7. We used Brides for Brides Photography, Phoenix, Arizona Wedding Photographer for our engagement pictures and my boudoir shoot. We worked with Tamara and she is fabulous. I honestly cannot say enough good things about her and the company. Overall: To begin Tamara totally felt like an old friend and during the shoots she makes you feel comfortable in your skin while still maintaining that professionalism needed to get some awesome shots. Communication: They are super quick at responding to emails and honestly she answered the phone every time I called (never had to leave a voicemail). On Location: We shot the e-pics in Sedona at Red Rock Crossing with Cathedral Rock in the backdrop. Tamara was early to the shoot and helped find the best photo ops even though there were 3 weddings taking place at the same time! We even snuck some shots with the bride and groom in the background of some of our pics. We traipsed through water, climbed in the trees and even stole some shots at the wedding ceremony site once the party had left. Studio: I did the BD shoot in their studio located in the charming Tlaquepaque Plaza in Phoenix. It might have been nice to have a few more props – bed/couch but the pictures turned out extraordinary so I am not complaining. It was cool as they have French doors that overlook a courtyard and the glass is blacked out from the outside so you can get some voyeur-esque pictures in front of the window. Photos: Wowsa! That girl is talented. Mine and FI’s moms cried over how great the e-pics turned out. Need I say more? Well I will because we got a bunch of pictures (250 edited e-pics and 170 edited BD from each of the 1 hour sessions) and I can only hope our wedding photog will be half as good. Also the BD book layout was so well put together that I only had 1 minor change before printing. I actually wrapped the book as soon as I got it so FI wouldn’t catch me looking at it! DW: They were not available to shoot our wedding, but they are willing to travel for DWs I highly recommend them and hope this review can help someone!! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t44113 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t47613
  8. After many long arduous debates, FI and I finally decided to buy stadium cups for our DW OOT bags and AHR favors. We started out liking the plastic beer steins, then moved to koozies, then to travel mugs and finally chose stadium cups. We go by the motto, “If you need a koozie or an insulated mug, then you aren’t drinking fast enough!†I actually grew up thinking that Wurstfest cups (look it up) were the best milk cups in the whole world because we always had a million of them floating around the house. Hopefully our guests will reuse them as well! Honestly though, we just hate the tiny disposable cups they serve beer in at AIs so anything is an improvement over those and besides we are doing a little part to save the Earth from all of the throw aways. And… these stadium cups fit perfect in our floating beer pong table. We purchased the 22 oz smooth cups from Custom Stadium Cups and Personalized Plastic Cups from Discount Favors and were impressed with their art, customer service and quality. Definitely recommend them!
  9. I make glasses all the time and it is really easy. I have used real wine glasses, plastic cups and glass beer steins and they always turn out cute. The pic is from my best friends bachelorette party. I made them out of plastic wine glasses from Target because it was a pool party. I put eveyone's name on them, painted a different design on the bottom of each glass, and put the date on the back. I glued some tulle on the back of the brides to look like a veil. Here's how I do it: 1. Buy paint pens and glass 2. Make your design on the computer and print it out 3. Tape the print out to the inside of the glass with the design facing out 4. Trace away with your paint pen 5. Don't wash in the dishwasher. You can buy sealant, but it always makes the glasses look foggy to me. Good luck )
  10. They turned out so great! I have to admit that I really love Landshark too Your guests are going to love them.
  11. IMO some of the untraditional songs we are using include Hey Ya (Obadiah Parker), 18th Floor Balcony (Blue October), stuff covered by Vitamin String Quartet and My Life Would Suck Without You (trying to find a cover version of this so it isn't all Kelly Clarkson in your face). My $.02 for what it is worth... I think picking songs has been the hardest part of the planning!!!!! Most of BDW wants non-traditional so the ideas you see here probably aren't as cliche as you may think. FI keeps reminding me that every wedding we have been to in the last 6 years have all used the here comes the bride and classical recessional music. So picking something that you love and really represents you and FI will make a statement and be unique in most of your guests eyes. I can't wait to see what other people post as "non-traditional songs"!
  12. Thanks for the insight!! Quote: Originally Posted by Tlseege I will give you my perspective as a photographer. Number one, thanks for feeding us! No, really... that's needed! That way I can easily take pictures near my seat and get up and move about without disturbing others. However I like to be seated very near the couple (but to the side) because if something sneaks up I can quickly grab my camera and sneak a quick shot. BUT, that's just my opinion.
  13. Jamie - I'm using Nate Cordova (usually he 2nd shoots for Beth so they probably have similar requests in their contracts.) Rebeca told me that my photog did not need a day pass and I would just have to pay for his meal. Actually this is what she said from our email conversation: I have booked Nathan Cordova to photograph the wedding. Do I need to get him a day pass so he can enter Dreams?[Rebeca Gonzalez] if you want him to have dinner, then you will just have to pay for his dinner, if not, just with the name. I'll email her and see what she says about a vendor meal and such.
  14. LOLing at this whole thread. Guys are just so different than we are and it totally drives us both nutso. Di that would be so awesome to have a FI do stuff without asking! FI is always like, "I didn't know I needed to unload the dishwasher or wash the towels" I swear he only thinks about stuff when I put it under his nose. Once he had the audacity to say he didn't do the dishes because he knew that I liked to do them. Notice I said "once" because now he does the dishes all the time Quote: Originally Posted by Lady_Di Haha, I hate the fact that I HAVE to tell him what to do with the chores. 15. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you can get it worked out!
  16. I've seen this done at a couple of weddings and it has looked good every time. But I wouldn't pull them apart. Just have a small empty vase on the tables so each girl just puts them in when they go to the reception. I am going to use my bouquet on our table. And then we have 2 arrangements included in the Ultimate package (I believe they are documented as centerpiece for the bride and grooms table and centerpiece for the ceremonial table). I asked that both of these match and Rebeca will move the ceremony one to a dinner table and the other one will just go on another table. For the remaining tables that do not have flowers I am bringing some picture cubes that hold candles (they cost $3 so that saves a ton on flowers that people can't even take home). I am planning on 7 tables so 3 will have flowers and 4 will have candles. Speaking of taking home flowers, can you bring your bouquet home with you? I'm guessing not, but is it worth trying? Or is this a bad idea? Thanks! Quote: Originally Posted by J&MWedding Jamie, I like your thinking! I'm not sure on that one. 17. Thanks for the post! That is the cutest sand ceremony frame I have seen
  18. Those turned out super cute. And I totally know what you mean with the Martha projects... sometimes they turn out great and sometimes it looks like a 3 year old attempted the project. I'm happy these look so amazing for you!!!
  19. Thanks for posting this! I just bought 3 hand sanitizers for $1 there. Plus a garter that I can throw (since I want to scrapbook my real one). I didn't even think to check out the meds there. Guess there will be one more trip for me...
  20. Jill - I hear ya on the evite for the bach party. Mine is next weekend (we wanted to do it before our legal day) and I don't know anything about it! I have a plane ticket and will be flying with a friend, but that's all I know! It's kinda funny how we plan and plan and plan our weddings, but know nothing about the bach parties As long as my girlies are there and we can get crazy I will be happy Also I heart your new siggy pic Quote: Originally Posted by J&MWedding BTW girls - my friend just told me she rcvd the evite for my bach party in Nov! 21. What a terrible situation. I'm not very good on advice, but maybe this will make you laugh. The ironic thing is that one of my girlfriends sent me this joke today and IMO totally works for you... Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement -- not even her parent's nasty divorce. Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best-dressed mother- of-the-bride ever! A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new Young wife had bought the exact same dress! Jennifer asked her to exchange it, but she refused. 'Absolutely not, I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm Wearing it,' she replied. Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, 'Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, 'Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it. Her mother just smiled and replied, 'Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.
  22. Welcome Amie! That really stinks about your surgery. Just make sure to take it easy afterwards so you can be healed for your wedding and honeymoon. (I totally love that you are sailing for the honeymoon.)
