  1. You did a great job! I know your guests will be impressed. I love that you let your FI play with fire Yay for checking this off the wedding list!
  2. Allyson!!!!! CONGRATS! I saw some sneak peeks from Mishka, and thought the aisle runner was fantabulous! You looked so beautiful and happy.
  3. Aimee ~ Hi fellow Phoenix friend! There are def some brides who had their reception on the beach. This is a link to some pics from Jess' wedding: http://theknottybride.com/fridays-fabulous-finds-for-everything-wedding/12673/
  4. The theme nights start closer to 7. Rebeca did reserve 50 seats for us at the Fiesta. We were right up front and it was super fun. An ipod at the bonfire is a great idea. We didn't do a slideshow at the bonfire, but we did watch a movie on the beach so I would imagine that a slideshow on the beach would be completely feasible. Each night the staff leaves a daily activity sheet in each room. It has the schedule and even weddings and birthdays for the next day.
  5. Here's a link to my rock climbing pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname=AutumnAndBrett09&target=ALBUM&id=5416409999017108337&authkey=Gv1sRgCKa6tKL60vXMtAE&feat=email
  6. I had receipts and a note that said all of the junk was for my wedding, but for some reason they didn't believe me. They said there was no way that the cameras cost me $6 and the hand sanitizer cost $1 for 3. So strange. They called over a supervisor and talked for almost 15 minutes. While I sat there, DH grabbed all of the other luggage and got it out of customs as quickly as possible. But then, they let me go with no reason other than a snide remark about me making up costs. I love love love giving ornaments for Christmas time weddings. I would say make it as hard as possible to find them. Like wrap them, put them in a sealed box, put that box in your luggage. The stuff that I had packaged like that, they didn't go through.
  7. Sweet Lisa! We get in on your wedding day! If you are at the resort after the wedding I'll have to *buy* you a congrats drink. I just checked out your wed-site and it's the same one that I used DH and I both work in IT and met at work too... although we're more on the unix side of life #nerdy Ummmm.... I took real starfish, but they were all wrapped up in boxes and DH grabbed that suitcase and basically ran to the exit so it wouldn't get searched. The bag that did get searched had OOT junk and they gave me a super hard time over the waterproof cameras and hand sanitizer. So yeah, I'm guessing that they totally would have confiscated the starfish if they had found them. Probably better to not take them with you. Maybe ask your WC where you could buy them in town when you get there...
  8. Hi Royal PDC brides! DH and I just finalized our trip for Thanksgiving to the resort, and it looks like a couple of y'all are going to be getting married at that time! Maybe I'll get a glimpse at your big day. Hope everyone's planning is going great
  9. These are great! You did a fab job. I <3 those tequila glasses.
  10. Hello BDW Desties! I’m the Autumn behind AutumnJo – boutique chic for your party week. Before AutumnJo, I was a destination bride infatuated with all things wedding. I joined BDW to help plan our December 5th, 2009 Dreams Puerto Vallarta wedding and I ended up falling in love with the forum and all of the wonderfully talented people that frequent it. So I took my fondness of weddings and online friends then threw in a dash of creativity and opened up AutumnJo – boutique chic for your party week! I specialize in personalized mini umbrellas and coordinating accessories for all of your life events. I have had the opportunity to work with brides all across the world and truly enjoy being a part of one of the biggest days of their lives. Together we have created everything from simple, classy cupcake umbrellas for a bridal shower; bright, blingy hair umbrellas for a bachelorette party; pretty in pink umbrellas with matching tears of joy packets for a Maui ceremony; and elegant escort card umbrellas and with wine glass name tags for a beach-side reception. While I love all of the joy that radiates from working with a bride, I have recently found a special place in my heart for baby showers, birthday gathering, celebratory graduates, holiday festivities and even office parties! If you have an event that needs a little sass, AutumnJo umbrellas and coordinating accessories can help you bring that personalized flair to the table or aisle. You can find my work on Etsy (I know everyone on BDW loves that site as much as me), but I’m also on Facebook and Twitter. I love connecting with my customers so feel free to browse my shop, throw me a tweet, drop by my facebook for a quick chat or email me any time with you custom requests! 11. Thanks for sharing Krista! We bought our DVDs off CraigsList so they didn't come with this chart either. I love writing down my workouts... makes me feel like I did a better job for some reason.
  12. Just talked to my girlfriend who is a climber and this is her quote about the wall, "well I didn't make it to the top so I thought it was hard... but I didn't feel like I was going to fall to my death so it was fun."
  13. I have a picasa album of rock climbing pics. I will post some of them this weekend. The only problem is that while we were there we could only climb 1 day. It is in a cove-type area and a storm rolled in so the waves were to high to even get to the wall. We had 2 climbers in our group and they liked climbing it... siad it was a nice wall for a vacation drinking trip. I'm not a climber and was too afraid to break a nail before the wedding so I didn't make it very far
  14. Welcome to BDW! The Santa Fe was actually our inspiration to have a DW! IMHO it appears that the Palace has more options, but def check out the Riu threads for tons of opinions Happy planning!
  15. Welcome to BDW! We just asked people that we wanted at the wedding if they were coming (after we went the Save teh Date) and that totally worked out for us! It's your wedding... run it how ever you want Happy planning!
  16. A linen blend it doesn't wrinkle as bad as pure linen. We went with the $99 linen/cotten blend and the suit looked great the entire reception. Â
  17. The only thing I moved around was the flowers that were included in the package. I think we got an arrangement for the ceremony table and one for the head table included in the package. But I actually used my bouquet as the head table arrangement, moved the "ceremony table" flowers to a regular table and used the "head table included" at a regular table. The other 3 regular tables had candles and a picture frame as the centerpiece. That's obviously not the same as switching make up with flowers, but they were pretty laid back... doesn't hurt to at least ask. Â
  18. Hmmmm... We got the Ultimate package because of all the little extras that kept popping up with the other packages and al a carte options. So unfortuantely I can't speak to the 4 hour time limit with the Love package. All I know is that we were strickly cut off at 10:30 pm and everyone just went to the lobby bar to finish the evening. Â Â
  19. Hi Girls! Â gowiththeflow ~ If you have something specific in mind for your deco, I wouldn't chance it with Dreams supplies. Figure out stuff that is easy to put in luggage and just bring it with you. Also, if you want it back make sure you have someone in your group in charge of picking it up. I asked some of my girlfriends to gather all of my deco afterwards and then had Rebeca in charge to get it back to me.... I only ended up with half of the stuff I brought. Sux, but I have a feeling that is just how it goes. Â Allyson ~ We just used the videographer for the ceremony that was included in the package. It was really nice to watch the video a couple nights after the big event and we used it at our AHR. IMO O probably wouldn't pay for the reception because people just end up too drunk and I didn't want that on video. The only thing I wish that I had video of is when we jumped in the pool.
  20. Thanks girls! The frame just came from Target Â
  21. The new site looks great! I can't wait to check out all the new features
