Welcome to the forum! I was actually thinking about ordering FI a shirt from your site and I think you joining the forum is a sign that I should buy it
  2. I think thats a cute idea if you do it right. I've seen things similar to this where the couple used Jones soda customized with their own pics. Or even mini bottles of wine/champagne with custom labels. Put these in a glass/wedding color ice bucket and I think it would be really cool. Make sure to post pics when you decide Weddings with myJones: great gift and decoration ideas Also, the only flower centerpiece we are having is one that is included in the package we bought. All the other tables are going to have photo cubes with pics and trivia on them. So I don't think it is weird to not have flowers!
  3. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. Look at it as the first opportunity to teach you and FI how to deal with stupid life stuff together. If you can get through this, then you will both know how to better deal with other things as they come up in your marriage! Things will get better ) PS: Love your monogram!
  4. Ooo! Ooo! Oooo! ... Pick me.... My hand is raised for a turn to vent! Talking to mom last night I was complaining about the number of RSVPs still not returned. She tells me 2 things that just made me want to cry. 1. Mom says not to worry about some of their friends because they have been telling my parents that they will be at the AHR. OK cool. I ask if she has kept track of those people and she says (in a very snotty tone) No, because you haven't sent me your RSVP list. OMG! All the RSVPs are coming to my house and she hasn't even asked for the RSVP list. Why can't people just return the pre-addressed, pre-stamped, instructions included, hold you hand RSVP card?!?!? 2. I ask mom if she has confirmed the caterer for the AHR. She says no. She has not even booked them (AHR is Jan 2). Personally I would have been doing the AHR planning, but mom was insistent on doing it, so I figured why not accept the help. Her reason for not booking them is that she doesn't know how many people will RSVP. OMG! FML - that just added another 10 things onto my To Do list. But even through all of this FI just makes me laugh and says thats why we moved 1000 miles away from your mom. Not really the reason, but we can at least get a good chuckle over saying it.
  5. I sent STDs to the people we wanted at the DW (75 sent). Then the invites included the DW and AHR (150 sent). The invites had an RSVP card for the DW and a seperate one for the AHR, but only 1 return envelope. This has worked out really well for us!
  6. I saw this in your pics and it is so cute. What a great surprise! Quote: Originally Posted by estella1007 Here's mine! 7. So beautiful! My good friend is planning a black accent wedding and her mom is totally giving her a hard time over it. I'm sending her your blog right now! As always thanks for sharing
  8. The undies and flowers were totally great ideas... The dollar store flowers were tossed around and I didn't care because they cost like $5. And the undies I showed FI and then the group convinced me to show the limo full of wedding people next to us. So yeah... I basically mooned the Strip with my boy short undies. Classy I know, but hey it was Vegas!
  9. IMO silver or gold would look good, just depends on what jewlery you pick!
  10. My Vegas Thread! I love all of the attention http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-single-50555/
  11. Hey girls we checked off the legal junk last weekend! Pics included http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-single-50555/
  12. We are doing a celebration cake at our happy hour the night before the wedding. We have several people celebrating birthdays and honeymoons and we thought it would be fun to share some of the spotlight. Vegas Dirve Thru ) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-single-50555/
  13. Patti those are way cute! I like the sign one becuase you could come up with something clever about the wedding to write on it. We aren't doing a grooms cake, but I think the cutest one I ever saw was a fishing cake. It had a "pond" with real water and gummy fish in the middle. Then the little guy and gal were fishing into it.
  14. That is so nice of them. You are one lucky gal Can't wait to see pics - I love the brown and pink color scheme!
  15. I didn't make that little indent because most real airplane boarding passes don't have it. Seriously, I am OCD and looked at ones from AA, SWA, US and Delta. Pics in the thread below. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...invites-48691/
  16. Congrats on your little secret!!! Hehehehe I love that so many people do the Vegas legal thing! We are still calling each other FI so people don't ask too many questions. But it is cool to think that I have a husband. Quote: Originally Posted by FutureMsMoulton Congrats!! We did the Vegas wedding thing on August 29th, but we aren't telling ANYONE! Doesn't it feel great to have a Husband? You guys look like you had a blast!
  17. My aunt and some family friends are hosting a shower next weekend. My un-bridesmaids also threw me a bachelorette party. I just insisted that for both parties, everyone invited was on my DW/AHR guestlist.
  18. Cruisin’ the Strip After the ceremony we hopped back in the limo and cruised for the remainder of the rental time. We purchased a case of champagne, plastic champagne flutes, shot glasses that we put our logo on and Hot Dam to shoot. We did a shot as we pulled away from the chapel and then popped open the champagne. FI had put together a limo mix on the ipod and we just cruised, celebrated and just acted like we were kind of a big deal until getting dropped back off at our hotel. Sorry this is so long, but hope you enjoyed it! It's kinda awesome being married
  19. Inspiration and Planning Pics Bouquet – flowers from the Dollar Tree Bout – flowers from the Dollar Tree Garter – from the Dollar Tree, I just took off the white ribbon and added my own Hair Flower – I tried to buy a silk daisy, but found out that fake flowers have seasons and no one had any. So I pulled one out of an arrangement in our guest bath, glued bling on it and attached a clip. Day Before & Ceremony Undies – iron on and bling DIY Limo We used Exclusive VIP Limos and rented their F650 Super CruZer with a stripper pole and 52†tv. The limo and we had a woman driver who rocked! Honestly though, we were a little skeptical of their service after a couple of bad reviews came up, they went to the wrong hotel to pick us up, and did not give us their, “VIP red carpet package†until we asked the driver. She actually stopped at the store and bought 2 bottles of champagne since they messed up. We called to confirm the reservation and they sent us an email with the correct information, but they never relayed this info to the driver. So if you do decide to use them: make sure to pay at the end, be prepared to stay on top of them, and don’t stress if something goes not quite perfect. Las Vegas Party Bus | SUV Limos Las Vegas | Exclusive VIP Transportation Tips and Money One of the best things we did to plan ahead was put all of the cash we had to pay into envelopes for each event. One for the chapel, one for the limo rental, one for the minister tip and one for the limo tip. Also, make sure to research the tip stuff beforehand. We found out that 20% gratuity was already tacked on to the limo and the chapel minister would be giving us an envelope for his tip. It was nice to be prepared for this stuff. Little White Wedding Chapel Tunnel of Love Drive Thru Going to the drive thru was probably the best decision that we made in the legal department. They were super friendly and the minister was so awesome. Yes it is on a busy street and yes it is cheesy. But we wanted to make sure it wasn’t too wedding-y so it was perfect! Everyone kept telling us they can now check off “Drive thru wedding†from their bucket list
  20. Yep! We are officially not single anymore! We went to Vegas over the weekend and got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel Tunnel of Love Drive Thru. I wasn't exactly sure where I should put this thread as it contains planning, pics and reviews There are so many discussions among the Desties about when to do the legal part of your marriage. For us, making it legal in Vegas before the DW was totally the right choice. We were already planning a trip for a kickball tournament with 2 of our teams and it was the perfect excuse to get married and party with some of our friends that can’t make it to Puerto Vallarta. We focused more on the celebration aspects and really tried to make the event seem more like a bachelor/bachelorette party (anyone who said marriage or wedding had to take a shot). Overall it was a total blast and we are so happy to not have to stress over legal junk before the wedding. Pics and vendor reviews below! Vegas Marriage License Bureau If you are going to get married in Vegas, register online before you go! It saved us at least an hour! We honestly walked into the bureau, went to the Express line and cut in front of about 20 couples. It rocked! Links below: Marriage Licenses https://aivitals.co.clark.nv.us/webinquiryinternet/ Kickball Tourney We played kickball all day on Saturday with our 2 teams. One of my un-bridesmaids made me a kickball veil and we were totally rockstars the whole day. No one could believe we were getting married that night and ESPN even interviewed us! More to follow...
