  1. Congrats Kimber! I am so happy you had a great time... and 90 guests?!?! That is so awesome. Enjoy your honeymoon )
  2. I agree with Yael and think you could have your cousin stand on your side and have the younger cousin act as an usher or do a reading. I really don't think having a mixed bridal party is strange. We are only having our brothers stand with us - FI's bro is the Best Man and will stand on his side; my 2 brothers are Bride's Honor Attendants and will stand on my side. My brothers were super stoked with the idea and have been an absolute pleasure to deal with in the planning process.
  3. They turned out fab! I"m working on mine this weekend and can only hope they look as good as yours
  4. Congrats Angela!!!! FI is at the Cardinals game today so I am trying to finish as much of the DIY stuff before he gets home. I would never tell him no because I think it rox that he wants to help, but I swear it takes me twice as long when he "helps".
  5. I absolutely love the turqoise and orange color combo! And what cute little people for the cake
  6. Haha Becks just posted what I was going to add about writing up the story and folding an extra crane so people can actually get a feel for how much effort went into it.
  7. I think #5 looks the best. And wow that is so amazing... I am still in awe that you folded all of them. Blowing it up and putting it by the guest book table on a stand seems like the obvious wedding-y choice. I'll let you know if I think of anything more creative. 1001 Cranes.doc 1001 Cranes.doc
  8. We are just doing 1 guest book for the DW & AHR. It is a coffee table book of Paris (we got engaged there) and guests can sign on any of the pages. I think it would be cool to use a book from the city where you had the DW for the AHR guest book.
  9. Sorry you had to change your plans Holly. I know everything will work out for you!
  10. Great review and your pics turned out great! Congrats Mrs!
  11. Totally up to you. We are not because the location is a trendy loft and we are having mostly loungy conversation areas to sit. We really want people to mingle and catch up instead of show up for free food and then leave.
  12. That stinks. I hope he can get his stuff worked out. I would probably take the hit if I couldn't return it. Or at least try to sell it.
  13. We aren't doing a welcome dinner because people are coming in Wed, Thurs, Fri for the Sat ceremony. We are doing happy hour in the lobby bar every day. Wednesday is just a meet and greet. Thursday is Crazy Christmas Outfit theme. And Friday we are having a surprise birthday cake for all of the guests with December birthdays. People can come hang out if they want or not... it's their vacay too Hahahaha! I can only wish that one night of partying would wear out my friends! Every time we all get together is a total drunk fest for days. Quote: Originally Posted by lisa_k Also, our friends are big partiers. 14. Wow... the transfer costs the same as a gift/hair/makeup?!?! I would say that you have to pay for the transfer since you already told her. And if you are paying for gift/hair/makeup for the other BMs then you have to pay for hers too. Maybe you can check with your TA about finding a less expensive transfer?
  15. Good story. I'm going to pass it on to the folks coming to the wedding. Thanks for sharing
  16. Boooo to dishonest people. I was leary of not very active noobs posting things for sale before and will definitely keep that in mind from now on.
  17. Not sure where you are staying, but you might check with your resort if they have anything planned. I was in the Mayan Riviera over New Years and the resort had a party - balloon drop, dj, etc. Everyone dressed up and partied in the ballroom. It was a total blast.
  18. I've read reviews that the resort staff will recommend and even take you to the fun bars at night (especially since Dreams PV doesn't really have a nightlife). In the back of my mind I am thinking Cheeky Monkey, de Santos, Mandala and the Zoo. My guess is that we will probably spend most of the time on the boardwalk.

  20. Nadine we are the total slacker month. I love being able to do as little as I want and still know my wedding is going to rok. I went and stalked the Nov 09 thread and all of the girls getting married there chat all the time about everything they have worked on. As for the ornaments I am just tying some festive ribbon on a 3" starfish with a tag that says Merry Christmas on one side and PV 12/5/09 on the other. $35 for 36 ornaments. I'm also contemplating adding a small card like the one attached in the bag. Guess we'll see how ambitious I get. I used this site Find Starfish, Beach Décor, and Seashell Crafts at US Shell because I used to work with them when I ran a gift shop on South Padre Island. Just called them up and they shipped the stuff the next day. Hmmm... but I'm not sure about them shipping to Canada. And I just got a call from a good friend and he is going to book his trip this week. He was calling to see if he can bring 2 girls! Bwahahahaha the more the merrier I suppose. I'm sure it will make for some good stories
  21. Hi girls! How's everyones planning going? Seems like my list is getting longer instead of shorter But at least my dress closet is full of beachy stuff since the stores are in full blown winter mode! I decided to make starfish ornaments for our favors and just got the starfish in the mail! Ugh they were kinda smelly fish, but I set them out overnight so they don't stink anymore. Now I just need some Christmas ribbon and I'll be set! I think they are so cute. Also FIs dad sent an email saying he wants to help pay for the cake party we are doing the night before the wedding. So I'm excited about that too! We have 4 people celebrating birthdays (including FIs mom) the week we are there so this party is a mini birthday fiesta - whoop! Ummm is it December yet?!??!
