For our bach parties FI went to Vegas and I went to San Fran Tehehe – it’s Mike Tyson’s tiger My cousin and 2 family friends threw me a bridal shower. This is me and my mom. I have the pearls that my mom wrapped on her bouquet as well as 3 memory frames of my 2 grandmas and one great aunt. They really were a big part of my life and it feels great to know they will be there watching. Well here we go… one of my favorite parts of BDW and I can’t believe it is actually my turn to post a planning thread. The past year has absolutely flown by and I truly wouldn’t have half of the cute ideas if it wasn’t for this forum. Special shout outs to the ladies of the Dreams PV thread, December 2009 thread and the SB! Luv y’all! So the engagement happened while we were gallivanting around Europe on a Contiki trip last New Years. 2 other couples had gotten engaged on the trip and everyone was giving Brett a hard time about when we he was going to pop the question. He was so adamant that he had no intentions of ever being married that he actually brought me to tears. Well then on New Years in front of the Eiffel Tower he popped the question. Crazy boy ) I originally wanted a wedding in Texas where I grew up and where my family is, but couldn’t find anything within a reasonable budget that felt like us. So we opted for a DW. My 2 brothers are my Honor Attendants and FI’s brother is the Best Man. The wedding party clothes – Reefs and linen shirts from IslandImporter.com I did ask my girlfriends to be my un-bridesmaids and gave them scrabble tile lanyards. Everyone coming to the wedding got a pre-wedding brochure and luggage tag  

I made some DIY rhinestone clothes and wanted to share them y’all. I originally saw Erika’s thread and just followed MsShelley’s directions from there. Thanks for being such an inspiration girls! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-undies-44678/ I ordered the rhinestones and mylar paper from ebay and then picked up the tees and hoodie when I found the ones I liked from local stores. The only one I didn’t design myself is the white cover up with the bride & crown.

Um yeah... it's 7 am on Sunday and I'm on BDW while drinking pepto. Yep the wedding jitters have set in. Check. I don't feel stressed, but I just can't sleep and my tummy is all jacked up. We are almost packed and leave on Wed. I am so freakin excited to get to Mexico and hang out with all of my best friends. Oh... happy 1 month Nadine!

Most people just do 1 bag per couple and then give the single guys something a little different like a cooler bag. FI honestly throws away every favor bag that he gets so I opted to just do 1 per couple or single guest. I'm also going to suggest that people reuse the bags a grocery sacks so maybe the 3 single guys that I have won't feel left out... Christmas Traditions Since our wedding is pretty close to Christmas there are a couple of traditions that we mentioned in our Booklet. December 1-12 is The Festival of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta and marks the founding of the city with parades and special events. December 6 is St. Nicholas Day and growing up we always hung our stockings up the night before and St. Nick would leave us an ornament. For some reason my Omie (grandma who lived next day) always knew exactly what St. Nick left us. She passed away 2 years ago and I thought it would be cool to incorporate this tradition into the wedding. It works out perfect since our wedding is the night of December 5th so we made Starfish ornaments and put them in the OOT bags and also included a mini-history in the Booklet. Love the postcard idea! We did a postcard for the Save the Date and everyone thought it was great. The only problem we had was that a couple of people who had signed up for a "no junk mail" service didn't get them. I actually sent the cards twice to these folks and they never received them.
