  1. thanks for nomination good luck everyone!
  2. For all of you B2Bs out there, RueLaLa has the crystal Havianas on sale today!
  3. I have a friend looking at Vegas for a wedding so I popped over here to see what kind of info was on the forum. Here's my $.02 on hotels... We almost always stay at Mandaly Bay/THE. Fabulous rooms, fabulous pool, love the Eye Candy bar and Foundation Room. That was our back up if the Mexico DW fell through. For DH's 30th brithday we booked a large group at TI and did a pirate themed weekend. The rooms are super nice and we enjoyed the pool. The cabana was upscale, they had a DJ and was a chill party atmosphere (minus all of the meat heads you see at Rehab, Wet Republic, etc.) And agreed that Planet Hollywood's pool is really bad. After typing this I'm ready for a Vegas weekend!
  4. Hope you had a fabulous wedding! We need FB pics ASAP!!!!
  5. Jess your pics are so stunning! Stephanie really did an amazing job
  6. Oh Leslie I just teared up reading this. I agree that you really need to go with your gut instinct. Talk to a counselor and figure out what is really going on. Sorry you are going through this and I hope everything gets worked out. *hugs*
  7. Hmmm... I like #1, but maybe it's just because I am sick of looking at orange from my wedding. Both are great combos!
  8. We had the DJ do it, but he was terrible. Played the wrong music and none of the stuff that I had on the list that I gave him. I recommend renting the sound system from Dreams, making your own play list, and asking one of your guests to be in charge of the music for the ceremony. Quote: Originally Posted by KarenM Hey girls. Did you have music played for the ceremony (processional, recessional) and if so did you hire a DJ to play it or use your own sound system (ipod, etc)? We're getting married on the beach & it costs $100 to hire their DJ for the ceremony. Our ceremony is probably going to be less than 1/2 hour long so I really don't think it's worth the extra cost, but I'm worried that bringing our own ipod & speakers may not be loud enough for either the guests or me to hear (like knowing when to walk down the aisle). Did any of you run into this? If you brought your own system was it loud enough? And who manned the ipod? How did you know when to start walking down the aisle? Just wondering if it's too much of a pain to coordinate and whether I should just suck it up & pay the 100 bucks. Thanks chicas!
  9. I hear really good things about Dreams VM! We got married at Dreams PV and absolutely loved the town. No one will care that your stuff says Punta Cana. I know everything will work out. Maybe hit up some of the girls who had to switch their weddings during the swine flu nonsense for advice (Yael ended up having a fabulous looking wedding in Cali).
  10. Las Caletas is so pretty and we did end up going to Rhythms of the Night. But I get sea sick really bad and didn't want to have to deal with that on the wedding day. Dreams PV is a great place afnd perfect for a wedding. Whatever you decide will be amazing!
  11. Awww... I agree with cougs! You are always so sweet! Quote: Originally Posted by islandbride317 b2b -- sammysgirl Mrs. -- autjo Go get em', girls! My nominees are both so supportive in all of their posts! B2B - KittenHeart Mrs - Poohshek
  12. Frick Nadine I was sooo excited and then only 1 teaser from your wedding yesterday. I'll be a total stalker today! And yes I have all of the images and can do the color stuff myself, but I am just lazy. It will probably take me 5 years to actually print any of the pics. Lol. He posted one teaser on his blog yesterday from our wedding and mentioned that he will be posting more again today so i will be stalking his blog. I wouldnt worry about him getting too tuckered out before you wedding Jess, if you read his entry about his trip to my wedding, I dont think he could get any more tired than that!! And he still rocked it:)

  18. Welcome Tory! My family lives in the Austin-San Antonio area too They were hesitant about Mexico at first, but they had a blast and my mom is going around telling everyone that she is eating every bad thing she said about a DW. You will find a lot of great advice on this forum. Happy planning!
  19. Nat you look so amazing and happy! Your pics are fantabulous!!!! Congrats again )
  20. Thanks for all of the compliments! I just wanted to share that I washed most of these outfits in the washing machine on delicate then dried them in the dryer and they washed up really nicely. Hot fix rhinestones are so awesome.
  21. Aww thanks Anna! DWs are totally the way to go. We actually had an AHR in New Braunfels and I'll be posting my review on that in a couple of days. 22. The stuff came from all over the place - Target, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Ebay and then I made all of the customized labels. Let me know if you want details on something specific. 24. Karen we went to Mandala and had a blast. It is a really nice set up. You will end up paying tourist prices for drinks. We talked to our waiter and he said that Tues-Thurs when most of the cruise ships are docked you end up paying more because everyone in town raises their prices. Also I believe Rendezvous closed at 12 and Desires (the dance bar) closed at 1. Everyone would just move from the lobby to dancing when they kicked us out. It wasn't a big deal. Allyson we lucked out too and only had 1 wedding on our day. There were other wedding parties at Dreams while we were there (obviously Jill's being one of them) and it was actually fun as our guests mingled at night and made new friends at the swim up bar. But, Rebeca was not around during the reception so I'm guessing she had some other event to work as well. This is where an outside DOC would come in handy.
