  1. I agree wtih Nadine. We went the AI route as well since we had 50 people and didn't want to worry about meeting everyone's budget needs for dinners/drinks and such. It was really nice to just walk up and grab a drink or snack whenever you wanted and not worry about carrying money with you. Dreams is not walking distance to town, but it is only a $5 cab ride and really easy to get into town and back. Drinks were a little pricey at the clubs and the food in town is not super cheap either.

  3. My gf got it with a pedi and her toes look great even after running and playing kickball for 2 weeks. Apparently the salon down the street is promoting it right now. Good to hear others like it, I'm going to have to try it out!
  4. They turned out awesome! Your guests will love them!
  5. Thank you girls ) My guests loved them and carried the bags all over the resort. It made it pretty easy to find people in our party at the beach or pool. We didn't have any problems lugging the stuff down to Mexico. I did get questioned about all of the hand sanitizer, but I had receipts for everything and a note saying that it was wedding favors. 6. Amy, I got married in December in Puerto Vallarta where the locals swore to me that it "never rains". The sunset was this gorgeous orange, pink, purple the days before the wedding so we took a ton of pics. Then the day of the wedding it was overcast all day. It was a fabulously pleasant temperature for our guests during the ceremony and was especially nice that they weren't baking in the sun. Our pics on the beach turned out really cool as the sunset and ocean were these wonderful cool blues and grays. We had the reception, it started to sprinkle, we jumped in the pool, everyone went and changed then met up at the lobby bar and it started pouring! Definitely a sign of good luck for our new life together. Ahem... I also read the rain on your wedding day is a symbol of fertility and you will have lots of kids... LOL. You have no control over the weather so enjoy what it is and make the best of it )
  7. Just thought I would chime in too. My mom cried and cried when we told her we were not getting married in small town Texas. We fought for a good 3 months. After the DW she has gone around saying that she is eating every bad thing she said about getting married at a destination because it was so beautiful and fun. I actually did want to get married in my home town, but my mom and I would have killed each other so to compromise we did a BBQ reception at home and it really made the wedding feel complete. We also invited everyone to both the DW and AHR. 50 out of 200 made it to Mexico and these are our very best friends in the world and it was awesome to spend time with all of them. About 150 came to the AHR and I seriously think they were just there for the free food, but it made my parents happy... and food/drink only cost $7/person! The key point is that marriage is about compromise and I think weddings were created so you could practice working through stupid fights! Listen to your family and friends, but do what is right in your heart. And don't push your date back too far because people won't save... if they want to be there for you, they will regardless of 6 months or 24 months.
  8. We didn't do programs. Just put all of the info in the welcome letter. We had 50 guests and everyone made it to every event without any problems.
  9. We didn't even give our guests the option to book anywhere else. One person mentioned it and I told him he could stay home if he didn't book at Dreams. I'm such a B Karen ~ I would talk to Rebeca, save everything she says and have copies of it with you. I would also warn your guests that Dreams is very time conscious and to not be surprised if they are asked to leave once the pass expires. Once again it is their loss for not staying at the resort and enjoying the time with family and friends!
  10. Thanks for the info sweetie! I just sent this to my girlfriend who lives in Dallas )
  11. Yea for Patty's Day! One of our friends is making homemade corned beef and invited us over for dinner! I'm pretty sure that I saw boxty and Guiness on the nutrition guide for today ) And Amy I think that mixing the 2 programs will give some really good results. I stopped running while I did P90X and I'm hoping that Insanity will help build up my endurance.
  12. Not sure about the chuppa. But chair bows are 108" long and about 10-15" wide. I found rolls of tulle at Hobby Lobby that I used for chairs. And just a quick FYI... chair bows and table runners are the same thing so if you are looking online, they are interchangeable.
  13. Alrighty then ladies! This is my one week mark! I'm definitely not as sore as P90X, but my body is fairly fatigued... really did not want to get up this morning! The Insanity work outs are a lot quicker than P90 and it keeps DHs attention better than P90 so that is totally a plus. I'm kinda feeling like Insanity gives those "ab-cut" results to people who have that skinny body type. Whereas P90 gives results even for the average body type. I'm not dissing Insanity or giving up on it, but that is just my initial reaction. We didn't do the program exactly so I listed what we did do: 3/9: fit test 3/10: plyo 3/11: rest 3/12: snowboard vacation 3/13: xtreme sledding vacation 3/14: rest 3/15: plyo 3/16: cardio resistance 3/17: supposed to be cardio recovery, but we'll see if a shamrock shake or car bomb call me away! Happy St. Patty's Day )
  14. LOL Andi I did forget to mention that the badges come from China so it took about 3 weeks for them to get to Phoenix. Quote: Originally Posted by Andi Whoa Autumn! that is a smokin deal on those badges! Yes go with these...much better price
  15. I got my holders on ebay from this company: 50 Business ID Card Badge Holder w/ Zipper Vertical ZH - eBay (item 260564428945 end time Apr-05-10 23:16:16 PDT) And wrist coils from OTC. I just did a quick search and ebay has a ton of them as well.
  16. I have 2 packs of 10 bridesmaid cards for sale. I bought them to use for my shower, but my mom decided it was necessary to invite 75 guests and my cards were "too expensive" to send out to that many ladies. I ended up using 1 pack for my "will you be my unofficial bridesmaid" cards, but these 2 packs are left over. The dresses attach to the card with tiny pink brads. This allows you to run them through your printer. Let me know if you are interested 1 pack of 10 for $15 or both packs (20) for $25 FREE SHIPPING to the US! $5 shipping to Canada and I will ship it as a gift. Paypal only
  17. Congrats and welcome to the forum! We had a large reception in New Braunfels... gotta love Texas brides )
  18. Thanks girls! Amymarie ~ the list may feel like it never ends, but it will feel good to check things off of it and the time will fly by before you can even blink! Total cost was about: $50 *8 dz maracas *2 cans of spray paint (you really only need 1 but I let DH spray one batch *and he kinda went overboard *1 roll of painters tape (I taped the bottoms so only the tops were orange *2 paint pens *Ribbon from a fabric by the pound place *Paper for the tags Total time was about a week working on them for an hour a day: It took about an hour to tape and then paint, then dry overnight. Then about an hour to draw the logo and swirls, then dry overnight. Then 30 minutes to make the tags. And the longest part was cutting the ribbon and tying them together. My un-bridesmaids helped with that and I think it took us about 2 hours, but that includes some drinking time Quote: Originally Posted by jdrewett I can't believe you made these! They look amazing! During the wedding people would put them in their pockets and then sneak up behind us and shake them. It was pretty funny. If you like mini-things then these would work. But if you are looking for real maracas you might check out these: Amols' Specialty - Catalog - Traditional Large Maracas 8" Quote: Originally Posted by PaperBagPrincess A few of the reviews indicate that they don't mke much noise, did you find that? 20. Have you checked out the department stores like Macys, Dillards, Nordstroms? I found my shoes on the clearance rack at Nordys.
  21. Hey girls just wanted to let y'all know that the Envelopes and the Tears of Joy packets have been sold. Thanks to the Desties for funding my DIY habits
