Did you expect them? Just curious b/c I am sending out my invites now. Thanks Amy! We definitely did not expect gifts, but having a bridal shower and AHR I knew people would want ideas. I didn't put anything about gifts on our invites, but did put this on our website: While your presence at our wedding is enough, we have registered at a few stores if you are you looking for some gift ideas. Our website was included discreetly on our invites. For my bridal shower that was in Texas a bunch of people actually gave us gifts off of the registry. I just returned them before I left and then re-bought them when I got back to Phoenix. No one brought any gifts to the DW. But the AHR ended up with a ton of cards. I think it helped that my mom always reminded people that we had to travel and not give bulky gifts. Hope that helps!
  2. Hi saza! I'm so happy to hear of someone else that has stuck with it! I'm doing P90X right now and can totally tell that Insanity helped. I loaned the dvds my one of my GFs who is getting married in Oct and she has seen some great results too. Keep up the hard work!
  3. Tash it's all about getting toned! It does help me loose when I've gone a bit crazy, ahem... 8 pounds from the AI and then trying to get life back to normal after the wedding bought me another couple of pounds... so after a couple of weeks of P90X, I'm starting to hit the weight plateau, but reallly noticing lost inches and more firmness. And that's what counts for swim suit and wedding dress season ) Oh and I'm going to start focusing on legs and back because apparently my early 30th brithday gift is more dimples on my bum. FML.
  4. There are threads on both Dreams and Palace resorts and will give you tons of info and reviews. Both are wonderful, it just depends on your taste and what location you want. We wanted a little off of the tourist path and Dreams Puerto Vallarta gave that to us. But the Mayan Riviera is always beautiful and easier to swallow for some guests who are not used to traveling to Mexico.
  5. Dreams resorts are super kid friendly. Welcome to the forum and happy planning!
  6. So true Amy! A spoonful of chocolate makes everything better And I totally agree about getting all of your work out goals done about 2 weeks before you leave for your wedding. That's just one more thing to cross off your checklist and you'll feel great knowing how hard you worked. Keep breathing and working hard ladies )
  7. A lot of airlines don't consider a dress an extra carry on, but call and check. Also make sure to ask about luggage both ways as different countries have different rules. I carried on my rolling bag, a duffel bag and my dress w/ DH's suit in it. DH carried on a rolling bag and a tri-fold. We checked 4 large suitcases. All of it was free since we flew first class from the US to Mexico. On the way back from Mexico we did not fly first class, had the same amount of luggage and had to pay for 2 checked bags.
  8. I went with the stick on bra. I found it at Target because VS was out of my size. Not sure it will work with a D but I love it and wear it all time. I also don't know why sewn in wouldn't work, maybe get a second opinion from a seamstress...
  9. So classic and beautiful! Amy you have way out done yourself! If I commented on everything I liked we would be here all day. I am so in love with the bird theme for weddings right now and just love how you incorporated it. Your guests are going to be amazed at everything you pulled together. Great job sweetie and I know you are going to have a fantabulous wedding! Congrats!!!!!
  10. Yay on the weight loss kwaits! I also have no self control. Seriously I was craving chocolate last night so I ate a spoonful of nutella. Bwahhahahahaha. I suck. I did the chest, shoulders, tri last night and I think it is crazy that people can actually do one handed push ups or the push ups where you jump and clap in between. I just end up falling on my face. Maybe one day...
  11. Awww I'm sorry Steph. I'm sure whatever color you get will work. I actually just had the groomsmen buy their own linen pants and they all ended up looking cohesive. I posted some more wedding pics on FB if you want to check it out.
  12. We had a couple of teenagers but they were all really well behaved and didn't even act like they wanted to drink. I know that my brother in law had the staff take all of the alcohol out of the mini fridge in the room and told the bartenders around the pool not to serve them. It seemed like Dreams relied on the parents to keep the kids from drinking.
  13. Congrats and beautiful pics! Boys are so dumb, but they make for great stories lol. Glad everything turned out great.
  14. Thanks for sharing! Everything looked beautiful. I'm thinking we should go to one of the Velas hotels for our anni
  15. If you go with the clip on extensions, you just wear them for the wedding. Have your stylist at home help you pick them out so you get the right color then have them style them for you like you want for the wedding. They really are super easy to put in/ take out and you don't have to worry about the damage from permanent extensions.
  16. We knew from previous trips that the deserts are just different tasting in other countries. The chocolate is different, the vanilla is different, etc. so just be prepared for it to be good, but probably taste different than what you might expect. For example, the "cheese cake" that we had for the rehearsal was more like a super moist vanilla cake, not like cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory. We also decided to go with traditional wedding cake to Mexico (tres leches) because we knew they would do a good job on it. As for humidity, they didn't even bring our cake out until we were done with dinner. Check with your wedding coordinator with what they recommend. And have fun picking your cake
  17. I've done the Classic and the Lean and got better results with the Classic. I don't bulk up, just end up toned. As for food, I'm actually doing Weight Watchers (it's free at work) and I really like the idea behind it. It is honestly just being more aware of what you are putting in your body. I can't do diets, especially because DH is the pickiest eater in the whole world so just making better decisions about food is helping me. I mean, of course we all know you shouldn't eat the Big Mac or drink that Starbucks Trenta Frap, so writing it down and picking something better portioned honestly helps change your mindset. And on that note I'm down 5.6 pounds after my post wedding slump. I heart feeling healthy! Keep up the hard work ladies )
  18. Awww everything has come together so well. You are going to have an amazing wedding! And congrats on your legal day
  19. Oh they turned out loverly Cassie! I love the envelope liner and the saying at the top of the invite. You're hard work (and patience) paid off! Yay!
