I might have to copy it from you!!! Just to add my two cents...I'm going through the same thing as it seems like all of the other posters here...maybe not as bad though, I don't know how I would handle some of this stuff!!! But I guess it seems like the norm...some people are rude, a nice "that sounds sooo awesome sorry we wont be able to make it..." would be a lot nicer than "I wish you would have your wedding here, you guys have been together so long (almost 10 yrs), we & everyone wants to see you get married, if you change your mind and have it here, then we're in" WTF...like I'm going to change my dream wedding for YOU -

Playa Fiesta Weddings
wsarah2107 replied to kate.com's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Hello ladies! We're pretty sure we're going to have our wedding at PF (yeah!!!!!)....have some questions about how those of you who have gotten married there did things....I know guests book directily on their website, but is there a "deadline" for deposit and/or payment in full for guests?? If not...did you make one up? I'm just worried bc we might be doing January...and then what if 1/2 our guests backout because of too much holiday spending?! We'd be stuck paying for all those rooms!!! -
Congrats! Just wondering if you ended up contacting them right away? We've been engaged since March of this year and are just now trying to set the date in stone!! We have our resort/location picked, but my dream date (would have been our 10 year anniversary!!! We started dating when I was 15!) in falll 2010 was already booked!! So, I'd say pick date and place ASAP! All the details later--I agree with the above py oster, you don't want everything done and then sit around and wait (at least that's what we're doing as well), and enjoy it! Don't have to feel stressed out if you stretch everything out and do a little here and a little there!

congrats!! how exciting to have date and location decided! I can't wait for s to get to that point! haha:) Now, onto the details for ya! But you have lots of time for that--enjoy it!!

Help! Breezes Runaway Bay vs Iberostar Rose Hall
wsarah2107 replied to A2Bride's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hi! Did you contact BRB and ask them about your 13 y.o.? They might let it slide since your paying to have your wedding there! Not sure how lax Jamaica is, bt when I was 17 and went to Mx with my mom, they gave me an 18+ wristband so I could drink... -
i think its a really cute idea!! You guests (and prob you later on if you're still not crazy about it now) will think its fun/funny!! I'd totally go for it

Welcome letter idea??
wsarah2107 replied to Betsy's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thanks guys for sharing!! I def want to use a lot of the above ideas. One thing I was thinking, though, with info like weather, currency, passport stuff...would it be nice to include in some sort of letter prior to leaving (I think it would be useful information for some people, and some of it will help get people more excited about the trip!) instead of that sort of stuff in a welcome letter on arrival to DW? Thanks!! -
Having trouble writing my vows......
wsarah2107 replied to WAJA2009's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Just thought of something when I was re-reading the previous posts... I am confused by the whole vow writing thing, because initially I thought I would write about what I love about Noah and everything he has done for me ect, but then I don't think thats right...I think thats more of what you would say in a toast to him. I think vows are supposed to be what you promise you will do for the other person...like, traditional vows state you will be there for the other in sickness and health ect, and don't really mention why you love that person or anything like that. So, what I was thinking I would say, I don't think that expresses committment like vows are supposed to....but maybe you can do some of both?? -
Having trouble writing my vows......
wsarah2107 replied to WAJA2009's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Hi, I'm sorry I can't help you, but wanted to let you know you're not alone in the frustration!!! Fi's idea to write our own vows...I love the idea, but it really stresses me out!! My g/f is getting married to in Sept and her Fi had the idea to write their own as well...and she's a nervous wreck about it!! ...always would have thought it would have been the bride's idea/easier for her to express than for the grooms!!! -
symbolic wedding question

Is it a law in Mexico that if you have a legal wedding it must be performed in Spanish -
Those looks great!! Love the colors! I'm still deciding wether I want to attempt to make my own, or have them made!! I'm such a perfectionist with stuff like that so it might just end up being too stressful!! But I love scrapbooking and crafty stuff.... Anyways, your guests are going to love those!!!!

wsarah2107 replied to wsarah2107's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Thanks!! Yeah...I kinda thought that might be the case--we were about ready to give up on that idea anyways. When we had originally looked into Jamacia--they are rabies free, so you can't even bring them there & same with Hawaii (except Hawaii you can but have to quarenetene (sp?) them for longer that most people's stay would be!) -
Hey ladies! Does anyone know of any pet friendly resorts in the PV area? My mom has 2 little dogs (both of the dogs and I think my mom will have seperation anxiety issues) and she wants to bring them with, but it seems like most resorts are no pets allowed. FI and I also got a black lab puppy a couple months ago and thought it would be fun to incorporate him into our wedding somehow too! So if we could bring him, that'd be awesome...but if not we're okay with leaving him with family or at a doggy hotel around here (our vet has recommended phermones (sp?) for him to help with his seperation anxiety problems...but we might enjoy some time off from him--hes like Marley (but maybe worse!!? from "Marley and Me"--haha).

Came across this website where you can download a pdf booklet with destination wedding information (resorts, vendors, things to do, ect) Destination Weddings: The Resort Report - StrayWeddings.com - Destination Weddings in Mexico Is a little outdated (2007) but still might have some useful information for those looking to get married in Riviera Maya location! Hope it can help someone!!

I wanted to share with you guys this website I found (sorry if thisis a repeat post--but I haven't seen it on here--not sure how I came across it, somehow through my crazy searching for a destination!) Wedding Directory - StrayWeddings.com - Destination Weddings in Mexico It has a huge list of all the hotels, resorts, villas, ect that typically do weddings in Mexico. Then under each hotel is shows general hotel pics, and wedding pics. Some of them also have wedding pics/videos uploaded from past couples. Usually they have that you can download menu options and get wedding package information for each place. If you search articles it also has most intimate rated hotels for weddings, best luxery hotels for weddings & top all-inclusives for weddings too Hope this can help somebody out!! We've been having a heck of a time deciding...everytime we sit down to actually choose a place, we just end up ADDING places--everywhere sounds so great!!

You should def talk to Adam and Lindsay about them, they are great with answering any and all questions. The cost of the package you choose is for that number of dinners per person during their stay, food or bev station(s), and entertainment choice(s) for the nights of your choice (excluding the wedding night) per guest. You chose the nights you want to have the dinners, food or beverage station(s), and entertainment. It is per guest, not per room. Does that make sense?? We chose package number 1 which is two dinners from category 1, one food or beverage station, and one entertainment selection from category 1. Since we are paying for it, we went with the most affordable package. We are in a four night package so the cost is $12.50 per person plus tax and tip. We are using the two dinners for our Welcome Dinner (Mon night) and Rehearsal Dinner (Tues night). We are having the fried ice cream stand as our food station after the Welcome Dinner and the slideshow with music during the Rehearsal Dinner as our entertainment selection. Let me know if that does not make sense Thank you that helps a lot!! Thats how I kinda thought it was--but wanted to make sure One last thing to clarify--the price is per person per night, so does the $12.50 pp get charged to you once for both your welcome dinner and rehersal dinner, as it includes 2 dinners. Or is it $12.50 one night and $12.50 again. It just seems much more affordable than I thought it would be so I want to double check, ya know!! Of course, we will again clarify all of these things with them if we decide to go with PF--just trying to plan costs first! Thanks again for all your help!!!!
