  1. everything looks awesome!!! It looks like you spent a ton of time on it all!! Where didd you get the Eat Drink and Be Married ribbon??
  2. OOh, another thing I've been meaning to ask--do they have music going in the pool area normally? Or did you guys bring your Blackberry or IPOD?

And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process -- a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen! CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning heaven! I love everything you just wrote!! And totally agree!! Take your time choosing--no need to rush! Family were starting to get on me and irritate me with the details, but I wanted to make sure I scoped every last place out--we only get to do this once!! We changed countries and hotels I don't know how many times, but now I am soooo happy with our decision and don't second guess it one bit!!!! :) I like your last comment to about having other people here to listen whos going through the same stuff! That is really awesome--it kinda reminds me of being in nursing school...I'd complain to FI about it and he'd offer support, but didn't really get the same thing as when talking to other classmates about it--cuz they understood, ya know? Planning a destination wedding is lots different than traditional at home wedding, I think so there aren't too many people who can offer advice....yeah BDW!!!
  4. Congrats! & Welcome!! This forum is amazing & you'll find so much friendly help on it!!! Our date isnt until March 2011--I'm glad to see someone with an ever further date--people were starting to make me feel like I was crazy for having it so far out!! But more time to be a blissful bride-to-be I say!!
  5. Congrats!! I'm glad you found this forum--its been amazing in helping me decide pretty much everything for our wedding!! I love reading reviews and ideas from all the girls on here!! Hope you can find some answers!! Also, just try a simple google search for weather in Punta Cana--I'm sure monthly averages for temps and rainfall will be a top site! Good luck!
  6. Hi Girls! Did you and your group go swimming inthe beach much, or just in the pool Does PF provide beach towels? I was thinking of putting them in OOT bags, but maybe it'd be a waste and should spend the $ on something else?
  7. ooooh good question--I never even thought of that! Actually though I think just a yes/no is all YOU need for planning stuff. All their travel info--they'll take care of that themselves, right? Or through a TA?
  8. I can never throw out cards either!! I just end up keeping them all in a box, and don't really look at them, but when I do & read the ones FI gave me when we first starting dating (almost 9 years ago, I was 15 and he was 16!!!) it makes me awww and smile
  9. they look awesome!! I love the post card idea & I love the date in the sand idea!!! Super cute! I wonder how he did that without any of this footprints showing up...ha :-P

GOod to know before I ruined them all! haha
  11. Thanks for starting this thread!! I have mixed feelings about having an AHR. Like everyone's saying, it seems more like for everyone else, which is great, but at the same time...has anyone had anyone complain or give negative feedback about AHR? With destination weddings being a relatively new and not so common concept, do people seem to understand and get excited about it? I just wouldn't want people talking and saying how many parties are we trying to have, we're just trying to get gifts, whatever. Ya know what I'm trying to say?? Also for those who wore their dress again--did you wear it the dress the entire time or for just part of the party? Thanks guys!!
  12. Hi guys, Not sure how to do a search for this, the words I used came up with no results specific to it. I was just thinking about the tradition to keep the top tier of your wedding cake and have it on your 1-year anniversary. This isn't really possible with DW is it? Are you not allowed to bring food items back with you through customs? Also, wouldn't it get icky during the flight? Anyone do anything else? I'm a sappy romantic, so I'm kinda bummed out!!
  13. PS everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got our deposit in!!!!!!! YEAH Playa Fiesta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
  14. Hi Christina! I haven't gotten married there (yet!!!!) but they do list the prices on the website Welcome to Playa Fiesta
  15. ahhhhhh!!! Playa Fiesta is just soooo amazing!!! Mel which ambiance/candle package did you have?? Gorgeous!!
  16. Hello! I don't know a thing about their weddings, but I have stayed there before. Its fabulous--the staff and hospitality are amazing! They have mini golf on campus (or did before hurricanes hit) so that could be a lot of fun with your group! Food was good too
  17. omg are you kidding--they look fantastic!!! Seriously, they look really good--don't fret about it I wish I could do something & make it look that good. But, I know what you mean....I love scrapbooking, but I generally avoid actually doing it because I am too big a perfectionist and just get stressed out about it!
  18. those are great!! it looks like you spent a lot of time on them!! What brand paper did you use for the metallic stuff/where'd you buy it? I want to use that too, but can't find it sold in lrg quantities anywhere... thanks for your help! & again, nice work--super pretty!!!
  19. those are so prettty!! good job!! I love your paper--what brand did you use & where did you purchase it? I want to use a metallic paper for mine too, but I can't find it anywhere in bulk Thanks!
  20. Hi guys, Just wondering your thoughts on something--since there was only 30-50 ppl at the hotel did you or your guests ever feel bored/were there enough things to keep everyone busy throughout the day? I know we'd have the D&E on some nights--but what about the others? I would hate people to feel bored at a small place as opposed to staying at an all-inclusive resort with lots of other people and activities ya know!
  21. Another fan here! We always go out to BWW to watch the fights! Nikki--we were up north camping too...but used our GPS to call everybar to find one that was showing the fights! FI wouldn't have missed 100 for anything. He actually trained MMA for a few months at the Academy here in MN where Lesnar (and Sean Sherk) train. Noah (FI)'s had 2 fights and he is great at jujitsu but I always feel like I'm going to throw up or my heart is going to pop out of my chest right before he gets in the ring!

Actually, the main reason we did it was so that everyone would have plenty of time to save $ for a vacation....but it kinda backfired on us because the people we were doing that for all tell us "I don't know if we'll be able to make it--its so far away..." Argh--we suck at finding the happy medium I guess!!! That's whats making it difficult with the minimum room # rented. Ah well, even if we had to pay for some rooms, may be still cheaper than having a 250+ wedding at home! And way more memorable for all!
  23. Hi all! My fiance and I came across Moon Dance and it seems just beautiful! We've read a lot of great reviews on trip advisor and I skimmed through some of the posts on here about it, but I haven't been able to find anyone's review. Has anyone on this forum had their wedding their yet? Excited to hear about how everything was!! Thanks!!
  24. Yeah they do...I'm talking Jan or March of 2011!! We were really hoping to do Nov 2010 (it'd be our 10 year anniversary!!) but Adam said that week was already booked (actually, the only week of all fall 2010 not avail!)
  25. Thank you guys so much!! I love this thread Meeting the minimum room # is our biggest (well...maybe only) stressor!! Hopefully it'll all work out!! Kate--we're debating btwn Jan & March...what was the weather like for your wedding?? Adam told Noah its pretty much the same but Jan nights are cooler...was it like sweatshirt cool at night?? Aww, anything has to be better than MN January!!!!!
