At some point you have to draw the line about the date. We literally changed our date 3 times to try to accommodate people, but in the end, we just said we can't accommodate everyone's schedules. There will always be this person or that person that won't be able to make it. The best thing I think is like other's have said previously, to tell your FI you are willing to change it one last time, but then stick with it regardless of who can't make it. You can spend countless hours/ days coming up with reasons for not this day, not that day... be firm with people and they will understand the constraints you're working with.

have you thought about a sand ceremony?? instead of each of you pouring your own bottle of sand, have his children do his and that could represent the two families coming together as one. Â or you could choose 1 or 2 poems/ readings that they could share with your guests as part of the ceremony?

I asked my aunt to be my MOH this past February - wanted to give her PLENTY of time before the wedding (MAY 2011). Of course she was delighted and started talking about all the plans and everything - she wanted to throw me a bridal shower, etc. Since then,. absolute crickets. I keep asking her if she went shopping for a dress - which I pretty much gave her carte blanche on saying it just had to be purple, she could pick any style she wanted. She says "Oh, well I keep my eye out when we're out and about..." I don't want to be mean to her, but really that's not the kind of dress you can just pick up at your local Walmart and I'd be a lot more comfortable if she had something in mind. Â THEN, about a month ago, she started a new job. And now, she doesn't know if she can get the time off work. Her new employer told her not to ask for time off until she has finished her probation period of 90 days. I'm absolutely beside myself because I won't even know if she can come until mid to end October. I don't think its fair for me to ask someone else at that point if she can't make it. I empathize with her situation, however, it kind of puts me a situation of not knowing. Every time I try to discuss issues with her she deviates and changes the subject. It feels like she just doesn't have interest anymore. All those plans she was so excited about making...well I guess those never materialized... I don't care so much about that, but she shouldn't have made a big fuss about it only to not follow through. I feel quite let down. Â Should I ask her to step down as MOH? How on earth do I confront her about all of this?? I don't think it's fair to make that kind of commitment to someone only to leave them hanging with 8 months to go. Â Suggestions anyone?

Those really are amazing!! I am doing passport invites myself and have just started -- would you be willing to share your template? I'm Canadian as well and haven't been able to find a template for that. How did you do the front cover? I LOVE IT!!

For any of the brides out there that were married @ Ocean -- did you book your trip with the honeymoon suite or did you ask for an upgrade when you got there? What are the odds that they won't upgrade you if you're getting married there? I don't think it's as busy for wedding as some of the other popular hotels like Excellence so I would think that the suite upgrade should be available?? Â What do you think?

@Thomasjsgirl where did you get your sashes? I'd prefer satin, but can't find in dark purple... Would love to get in on this - if anyone has about 40 dark purple (satin preferred) sashes available for late April/ early May 2011 please PM me. Thanks in advance!

jstar: I also contacted Pauline @ Shinetravel. I agree she has been very helpful thus far. Even though she is out of TO, we will either go with her or another TA that I found, also not from Montreal. It's unfortunate that the TA's here don't specialize in DW weddings. I just don't have the confidence in them that I need for this type of event. We shall see how it all turns out but I'm confident that either of my 2 choices will be more than capable.

It is SO nice to finally find other Montreal brides! I was beginning to think I was alone!! I'm a west islander myself, but originally from Ontario, relocated here about 18 months ago and lovin' it ever since. We should have a Montreal brides night or something!! Happy planning to everyone!!
