We have the Bahia Prinicipe pre-booked for our wedding on February 25th, 2010. We have been to this resort 5 times and love it. As for the prices, I had my TA, who is also my MOH get quotes from various tour operators. I wasn't surprised by how high they were because February is quite a way off yet. She advised me to wait and she will get another quote in a few months. Our guests of course wanted to know how much the trip would cost so I told them what we have paid the last 5 times we went in February so they could have a number to "work with"...and I told them that the prices were too high to book now and that we would wait until we get a more reasonable quote. Everyone was fine with that. Don't panic on the prices right now...hang in for a bit and check back later. Are you using a TA? Happy planning!

Update! We decided last night to do the Symbolic Ceremony...what a relief to have finally agreed upon this! We are considering the Mexican ceremony as our actual/real wedding and anniversary date and we will "file the paper work" when we arrive home. We are not going to tell anyone. I am grateful to all who have posted here...you helped us make an important decision with your points of view...thank you!

Paloma is the Groups & Events Manager and is the one to pre-book your wedding date with. Simply send her an email with your request and she will take it from there. No TA contact is necessary. You will be required to fill out a form (provide what you can - no need to know your booking number if you haven't booked yet - just provide it when you do) and no deposit is required. I totally agree with your post newyork6156!! We are still deciding whether to do the Civil or Symbolic - I want to do the Symbolic - the paper work being the major factor, apostille this, translate that and when you get home you have to have an copy of the marriage certificate in English - too many hoops and expense. I'm with you...the REAL wedding will take place on the beach surrounded by friends and family - Fiance thinks people will feel duped - I say we don't tell them and we get married AFTER we get back (quietly). I may have to use your post as additonal ammunition for my case of a Symbolic Ceremony!! Thanks for posting it sums up my feelings exactly!

Hi! It is my understanding that when a TA requests a quote for a group from a tour operator the quote usually lasts only 7 days. It is likely that the tour operator equates a "group" to be 10 persons or more. If you do not book that minimum you cannot get the group rate. If you do not book before the 7 days is up, the quote expires and you have to get a new one. If you decide to book with this quote, other people can be added to your group file any time as long as there is space available at your destination (and air seats of course!). Hope that helps!

Hi everyone! This is a great site! My fiance and I are getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe Coba in February of 2010. We have been to the resort 5 times in 4 years and we love it there. During our last trip this past February we got engaged and decided to go back there to get married.
