  1. Oh I guess I did not realize the inside would have ppl in it. Duh. Do they see you through the glass? I bet they change the policy back --- I had no problem getting them to honor Blue Terrace with 38 guests. So really I should be thanking Wendy and Suzanne for fighting the battle. Well done ladies!!

What weather forecast are you all looking at? I would think weather.com would not be the best b/c its not local (I know that weather.com sucks for bermuda weather - we use weather.bm for example).

It's not like it's going to be reserved for another bride! On a side note, I'm getting the photography thing figured out, which is a HUGE relief. I also decided that I am for sure doing a BD shoot here in Seattle. My FI always jokingly calls me a "prude" and I want to prove him wrong! There's an amazing photographer downtown who will do a 90 minute shoot with a 40-page album (re-touching included) for $500. Seems expensive, but that's what I was going to spend on a wedding gift for him anyway, and this way we both benefit! Now...just gotta lose that last 25 pounds before November...AmyBermuda, I'm starting the 21-day eat clean diet on Monday! You go girl! You can do it!!! I am telling you, I felt great on that diet. It took about 3 days but once I adjusted, I felt fab. Oh and they only have 3 restaurants at Azul Beach - so they dont want one booked off for like 20 people when there are 200 staying at the resort, cramming into the other 2 which are very small places to begin with.
  4. If you ladies PM me with your email address, I will email it to you. .... at least as much as I can with leaving for Mexico in 11 days and working like a stressball
  5. For salads I used vinegar or fresh lemons squeezed on top. My friend (the fish hater!) used fat free Italian. Oh and those that asked about regaining one you are done - I have been off for 2 weeks - and have maintained. I am going to do week 1 again next week to see if I can lose the last 3 pounds before the wedding.

So, if you want to change the set menus it can be done (for a price).
  7. Hi Suzanne! Thanks for the review! I cant wait to check out your teaser pics! Congrats Welcome back!!! Where did you honeymoon?

I know the resort have shows and everything.. so maybe something exciting is happening on Sat night at the resort to have everyone go see I see that you only got few more days before the big day. I am sooo jealous. Wish I was getting marry soon Congratulations!!! Thanks! Yes it is so exciting and rewarding that my time is finally here! I am excited that that there are so many new Azul brides on this thread too - makes it fun to relive all that planning again. Quote: Originally Posted by renee1811 Amy, we leave on the 26th!!!!!! My kids were all 3 or younger; that should not make a difference - really - what kid needs surf & turf - LOL! But I would request the kids menu instead. I was only offered the kids menu a week or so ago. I think they forget to tell you things until you get right down to it.... So glad you found this forum, huh!??!! I did hear that Zavas Plaza was good to block the wind for the chillier nights and since we our wedding is in December that may be the way to go but we will have around 25-30 people and I am not sure if that area is too big? Is it better to have them in two different spots? Thanks! I am getting married at Azul beach so my options differ. However, I am having my cocktails at the Wave Lounge and dinner at the Blue Terrace - because I want my guests to all leave the cocktail reception, find their name cards, and sit down so that my HUSBAND and I can get introduced going into the reception area. I figure that 1/2 hour will be when FI and I go have our pictures taken, just the 2 of us. Is that how you did it Wendy? I know you had more time b/c you brought your photog down, but how did you picture schedule go?

Has anyone ever done a wedding that big there? They said they could handle it, but I'm getting worried because I don't know where this is going to work. They say they can do it at the Blue Restaurant or on the beach, but I'm doubtful. Any thoughts? I am sure they can handle it, but I would be concerned about getting enough rooms for your guests. I have 4 rooms of guests leavong friday & satirday night and staying at AS b/c the hotel was booked up. You would take up over half of the resort with 90 guests - which would be awesome - but I would be cautious of running ou of rooms - esp when people say they will book and leave it to 3 months ahead of time. It was even a groomsman that has to move to AS! No matter what you do or say, there will likely be stragglers!!

Any more details about the cocktail party you guys know about? I think we need some sitting arrangement for older folks... which will be extra money of course. They are max of 2 hours (which is what I am doing while FI and I take pictures). They dont provide seating per se, but you can try to have it in a location that offers seating. Or you can have your guests go to a bar and all mingle there without offering the canapaes. I mean, it is an all inclsuive, they should be able to fend for themselves OK!!! I chose the donkey cocktail hour with 5 of the food selections. I hope people are not full! I think I remember hearing, food is served for 1 hour and drinks are for 2 hours. Oh, not sure anyone else has children attending their wedding, but they offer a children's menu and they don't charge you for the kids' meals.
  13. Oh yeah I like Ivan's style too. So he is classified as Mexican b/c he works in Mexico & NYC? Did Azul know that he lives in Mexico?
  14. Celina, who then did you want to use that the hotel won't let you? My cousin does wedding photography and charges very little b/c he is just starting out. Eric Wolfinger I am not selling him, I just showing you that there are options out there for budding artists! Good luck! PS - Yes, reading negative postings like that always worked me up to. Amy F was really good at making everyone feel better Too bad she's honeymooning now!
  15. It works by making me feel fuller and detoxed - I have successfully fought 2 colds and got better - something I never do with my asthma (and smoking problem - ha). Losing weight? I don't know b/c I did it in conjunction w/ dieting.
  16. Celina, I think we have all felt that one way or another - wanting to switch resorts. And a couple if us did. I felt like that a few times but the fact that everyone walks away happy from their wedding has kept me with Azul. Go on to the other chat groups on this forum and see the difficulties the other brides are working with and really - its pretty much all of the same thing we deal w/ Azul. And, those brides don't walk away 100% satisifed. You still have time to book and bring down a photog with you and I can guarantee that is cheaper than the other Mexican photogs that the resort does not allow you to use. For example, I am paying $4,300 for Claudia PLUS the $500 outside vendor costs (I booked over a year ago when she was still approved vendor). I know for a fact that you can get a US photog to stay at the resort and take pictures all day and a trash the dress the next day and it will cost you less than I am paying for 8 hours of Claudia. Who/what did you want? Elizabeth Medina would have been nmice but she is $6K plus you have to pay the $500 outisde vendor fee plus she makes you pay for one night at the hotel for her b/c its a long wasy for her to travel. So $7K later.... You could get a seriously awesome photograoher for that cost!
  17. Good to know; I will warn people that ask me that next time!

This may just give me the kick-start I need to get my metabolism revved up again, especially at my age! Thats what it did for me to a T! Gave me the inspiration that I can lose weight!
  20. If your idea of going back to regular eating is eating large portions and bad for you foods, no matter what diet you do, you will gain the weight back. For me, it was more of a motivator to finally see the scale move and now I am just trying to maintain. Its not for everybody (you eat pretty much the same thing for 3 weeks) but it worked for me so I hope it can also benefit someone out there!

I feel great during this diet too! It was heaven. I am not sure why -no dairy, no processed foods - but I woke up every day happy. I also have been drinking 1 Tbs unfiltered unpasteurized apple cider vinegar wuth 8oz water before breakfast and dinner. I have avoided getting sick and my skin looks great. I am not sure its a weight loss tool, but ifit works for you go for it!!

We were supposed to have the whole next day and night after our wedding and a honeymoon breakfast! We don't even get a honeymoon night now cuz we have to be up so early! Who is going to want to be packing all drunk and hungover and exhausted, and how am I supposed to get ready for a wedding as well as make sure i'm ready to go home in 12 hours!!OMG!! There is no hungover - you wont be able to sleep if you have to fly out at 530am - what the hell?! Can you fly out the following day at 530? That means a 3am pick up from AS and if you are flying direct, youd be back in TO around 9am, right? What airline is this? Meghan, we have all had our "surprises" and usually they turn for the best.... so I am defo keeping positive for you!!!! I feel that a lot of TAs are lame and tell you, the bride, ridiculous things before investigating. I bet this is a stupid ass false alarm!! Not to be demeaning, but from my experience (and on this thread) TAs are not good customer service people. You will need to fight, but I have faith that there is a fix to this!!!! Most are not trained to be DW TAs -- those are few and far between!! Given you have over a month to go, you should be able to get diff flights. Let us know how it goes!!
