Oh Allisa I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I am glad he was able to be there to see his daughter get married and walk her down the aisle. That is very special. My thoughts are with you and your husband. Congratulations on your marriage and I am glad you are supporting each other through this tough tough time. I'll be thinking of you!!!

How did you lose weight before your wedding?
amybermuda replied to inspiredfyre's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Holy egg whites Raychel! I can't believe you could follow that. Then tilapia for breakfast! You are a trooper! -

You are right. The blues in Bermuda are much more aqua. They are only deeper blue outside of the reef. Did you see Stonehole Bay when you came here? It was probably after the hurricane and there were more rocks showing than normal. I bet the sand will all be back by your wedding date. The sapphire color will be perfect compliment to the pink! -
Lindz, love love love the site. I totally feel like TAs are shady. Mine is really nice but does not instill a lot of confidence in me or my guests. I rushed in and chose a TA which is basically a one woman shop b.c I wanted to support small businesses. Bad decision ! My friends keep making fun of me b/c her email address is @aol.com. LOL I do think large tour operators can help you get better deals though. My TA is using a large tour operator and they have the clout to help. I would ask your hotel who is the biggest Travel Agency or Tour Operator they use and try that out. They can also "price match" in case the prices go down after you booked your rooms. Good luck!

Now I need to check out Katie's website! Thanks guys - I love the little umbrellas. I was going to order online but I think I'll just find a Target & crafts store and buy them there. my 3 things to do this week are: 1) book the caterer for my AHR 2) find a couple hotels for room blocks for my AHR 3) send out all brochures to RSVP'ers

Amy, that sounds like a great idea. Would we submit different things to get done then? I think 2 weeks would be a good time to check back! Even if the task takes longer, like booking excursion, you could say : organize ideas and call companies one week then oragnzie transport another week, etc. I just decided on my table seating card displays. I got it off of Martha Stewart Weddings. I am usually not a Martha fan, but her wedding stuff is awesome. I was going to do Mexican tiles, but then I thought of the weight of bringing them with me and being fragile I changed ----> Parasol Seating Cards Aren't they adorable!! And only need a tray, foam, and the umbrellas.

Wow thanks Marne! Vic, I never saw sapphire and fuschia combo before and it will look AMAZING in Bermuda. Good job! -
Rach - I agree with SSNM. As long as everyone knows you want a small wedding, and they still want to throw you a shower, then I would go with it. If its a pain for you to travel to the east coast, I would say just have a combo couples shower/engagement party. Even for non-DWers, there are always going to be showers w/ ppl not invited to the wedding, like at work or what have you. I think being open and honest and grateful that people came even though your wedding guest list is short, is the way forward!

YOU ROCK!!!!! Thanks. I will have to take them to the arts & crafts store and find a paint pen that will write on them. I am having a small wedding so the names will be first names only! I thought it'd be more intimate that way!

I did not do Passport invites b/c they looked soooo involved with the stamps and pictures. I made Boarding Pass Invites - I loved them but Amy is right - they took forever. But everyone I sent them to thought they were so clever- which made the 2 days of hell worth it

Wow - loads of new people today! Welcome everyone! Sounds great Nicole - wow til 4am - that is a wedding done RIGHT My advice is to keep working and reworking what you want until everything FEELS right. A couple months ago I was really down b/c the costs kept going up and up and nothing I did or requested seemed to be exactly what I wanted but I got creative and changed some things for the wedding (sit down meal and added a 4th salad course instead of BBQ buffet) and let go of other things and now I am happy as a clam! Also, take all Trip Advisor posts with a grain of salt. There were some huge creeps that wanted their money back and kept posting awful reviews until their trip provider refunded some of their $$. So, I would listen more to past brides on this site - and they are all so positive. Of course there will be the occasional hiccup, but that's going to happen anywhere.

Did you buy the tiles yet and write on the backs of them? I am just curious what you are using to write on them with. I am not going to do a table number, I'm going to have 5 designs for the 5 tables and you find the table with your tile design in the middle. I will need little holders for that. I might do ribbon with a name card through it b/c I want the pretty side of the tile showing at the place card table!

Hey - great thread! Here's my pink and orange Mexico wedding board! -
Andrea, your funny! Hope you made out like a bandit at your shower. Amy, awesome about the BD shoot. What is your place card tree? Did you already post about it? This weekend Mark came to visit so I really did close to nothing for the wedding - except I finished my "Thanks for booking" Mexico brochure. I'll see if I can attach it. I love it! I used Microsoft Publisher. He took 10 and is mailing them out to the US attendants. I am mailing the Bermuda people from here. Next I am looking into designing a "whos who in mexico" book for my welcome bags. I want to have an intro into each person in attendance, fun facts, and cute pix so everyone "knows" everyone there. I saw it on someone's planning thread and thought it was so cute! wedding brochure.pdf

I asked them in person but thats about it. Although I am not sure I asked my sister to be my Matron of Honor. I am pretty sure that was just a given. We had promised each other since we were 8 & 10 years old! I had never heard of the gifts/cards until I started looking at websites like this one and the Knot, etc. Amy - let us know what happens with the DJ.

Here's my Halloween costume - I went I guess as a Greek Goddess? This is my recycled BM dress! Sucks with Facebook tho b/c people were still tagging me in wedding photos as the Halloween came out. LOL. I had to tell the bride so she wasn't surprised. I mean, they think we'll re-wear the dresses but I know myself and I know I would never wear that dress again so why not trash it at all the clubs in town?!

Happy Wedding Day yesterday Nicole! Cant wait to hear all about it! I think steaming of the wedding dress is included in the wedding packages, right? Or maybe that was all the other places I was looking at. Go on Katie with your 2 runs! Running is such great exercise and you can make great, fast improvements in length which is very motivating! Amy, OMG thats gonna look awesome
