We high fived each other once we got back to the sidewalk and gave each other a kiss then walked to freemont street and gambled and had drinks! Couldn't have been easier! I am so jealous! I dont think a trip to Vegas is in our plans before the wedding, but that sounds super easy. My FI and I don't live in the same place right now and all of the 2 - 4 day waiting periods are making this difficult.

OK criers - here are some of the ideas I have googled: 1# Blink a few times and look into the light; this makes your pupils constrict and keep tears from falling. 2# Cross your eyes. This is also another way to prevent tears from forming. 3# Also, rolling your eyes works the same way. Now, 2 and 3 might not be appropriate for wedding photos or even your hubbie might think you don't want to be there... 4# Yawn. Yawning helps to loosen the tight feeling in your throat that comes along with crying. Again, probably not appropriate. I am going to start this a month before I go: Do visualization exercises. Lie down and close your eyes. Breathe deeply to relax. Visualize yourself staying strong in the middle of the sad or stressful situation. Study your tearless face. Do self-affirmations as you visualize. Say, "I will not cry" or, "I will stay strong" over and over until your subconscious believes it.

Don't even tell me that!!! This was seriously the reason I picked Azul Beach and I will throw the hissiest hissy fit if there is not a donkey at my freaking cocktail reception! Wow feeling a little Bride-zilla now but this was my big surprise for everyone and I am really looking forward to it! Mark will go bananas if they take this away!

I spoke about my sister at her wedding showing me the way and telling me when it was no longer cool to french roll your jeans. At my Best friend's I told them how we sniffed pepper to see if it would make us sneeze. Laughter is so much easier to get out - but then even doing the cheers to the new Mr & Mrs I can barely get that out! I am going to see if WikiAnswers has anything for us saps!

I dont want to try to block out my feelings in order to NOT cry during my wedding but I dont know any other way! Speaking of ceremony length, I actually want to make mine longer and want to add the Hand Ceremony. Have you guys heard of it: Hand Ceremony In the hand ceremony, the officiant (or person chosen to do this part) invites the bride and groom to view the hands of the other as a gift. As an expression that your hearts are joined together in love, will you please face each other and hold hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to one another. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch. Blessing after: “Our prayer for you today is that both of you will use these hands to build a marriage where all your dreams come true.†I love it. I might tweak the words a bit, but the gist is awesome. I like the idea of holding hands palm to palm at chest level or holding them palms up into each others palms up. I don't know who to read it for us seeing as my parents are divorced and his Mom is widowed.... Maybe his Mom anyways?

Wow didn't realize you both are in Canada! brrrrr cold! Lisa, getting married right after the holidays is tough but hang in there girl! Its not always the #s on the scale - esp when your clothes are fitting better and you're going down in bra sizes! I have been doing arm & shoulder exercises 3x a week before work - they take about 15 mins and you need light and heavy dbells. You guys interested in getting them? I can scan the pages and post them. Let me know! It kinda keeps me motivated to be good throughout the day. --- kinda

OK so I did have to cheat & weigh myself this am and for the 10 days on the diet so far - I am down 4.4 pounds! WOW I am a believer. Thank you Lisa so much for sharing it!!! I love the changing up every 2 days so I don't get bored too. Just need to stay on track the next 2 weeks of constant parties. I'll try to eat within the guidelines but still have a glass (or 3) of wine.

I am going to make programs shaped in a fan with orange and pink paper, and tie them with colorful ribbon and hang on each of the ceremony chairs. I got the idea from the Knot from this picture:

So Kathy you weigh yourself throughout the week instead of once a week? I am trying to break myself of the daily habit b/c if the scale goes down a lot I think I am a dieting genius and start slacking (haha) and if it goes up, then I get all down on myself. I was at my future MIL's this weekend and I am sure her scale was wrong b/c it looked like I had lost 4 pounds my first week on the CYWT plan. Anyways, I am sure it is closer to 0 given my cheating little by little all week. Today is 2nd no Carb day though and I am doing very well. I love the changing up every 2 days. I think I get bored easily and this plan keeps me challenged! I am going to wait for the weigh in until Sat morning and see what has happned over the last 2 weeks. Hope you all are getting back on the wagon after the long weekend (excpet I guess you already had your Thanksgiving last month Kathy!)

Amy, can you share that website with the cheap sashes? I want satin, not see through material, so might purchase some. Otherwise I am going bare too. About the make up.... Everyone who got theirs done at the hotel in pictures I have seen look gorgeous. Even if its crappy make up they use - if you are concerned about that - you can bring your own make up - or have MAC do it at the Mall, buy it all, take a picture, and bring that with you to Mexico. Thats what I was always planning on doing You need to do what you feel is right, but changing hotels now will probably stress you out further. Just think, if you sat back and did NOTHING else to plan your wedding right now - I bet it would still be FABULOUS. And, if you need any convincing of that - read through the "What I would do again and what I would not do again" Thread (I can look for it if you cant find it). It puts things into perspective because 99% of the brides said they would not stress as much leading up to the wedding b/c it turned out perfect and they stressed so much and looking back they were sad about that! I'm not saying its easy though! I am having my own moments too. We're here for support too!!!!

Hi Heather - I am only on Day 3 so I cant really help you much, but to say that the low carb only lasts for 2 days so it was not that hard for me to stick to it. I was so happy this morning having a piece of toast with my breakfast and then some pineapple with my morning snack! On the Low GI days you can use spaghetti squash instead of pasta - which is amazingly delicious. Have you tried it before? And you can have cheese on the low carb and low GI days too! I would start to write ideas down for meals on the different days and you'll be amazed at the combos you can do. Last night I made ideas for different restaurants (sushi, steakhouse, sub shop, etc) for the different days and its amazing how much you can alter your meals a little to fit the plan. I guess the only big thing is to only eat a small portion and save the rest for the snack or another meal.

AmyF - yes - you get a certain # free - I think 12 - then every chair after that is $9. I think they are $4 extra (so $13) if you are having covered chairs & bows. Don't forget to not add up anyone who will be standing with you (BMs and GM). Its totally ridiculous, I know! Actually it was the same at a lot of other places I looked, except that most places gave 30 chairs initially, not 12!

The photobooth is awesome. My best friend had one Oct 10th and it was so much fun. And now I have strips from the wedding of me & my FI and then one of my, FI, Mom, and stepdad. It was so much fun to go in there and take the pix.
