Show us your wedding dress!
amybermuda replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Jess - That dress is gorgeous on you! I love the bunchiness of the fabric. Its gonna look awesome on the beach! -
It's nice to consider your guests and what will make them happy, but the wedding is all about you! It is hard with DWs and costs, but nobody HAS to go. And AmyF, what your friends mom said it so nuts! AS is totally reasonable when you add up everything you get for the $. I got the ceremony programs from Tiffany yesterday. If you are getting married legally in Mexico, she said the template/wording cannot be changed. AmyKittenHeart, this looks short and sweet for you Tiffany said the symbolic ceremony can be changed any way you want it. Also, BTW I became an aunt this morning at 1:10am!!!!!!! Little Johnny better get his passport so he can come to my wedding legal ceremony sermon.doc symbolic ceremony.doc

That's so funny!!! Yeah I prefer to have other people make decisions for me. I love love love love having a destination wedding where the wedding cake options were just chocolate or vanilla. My FI is a Gemini. Also an air sign. He fits it perfectly. Talkative, goes with the flow but can change his mind on a whim, and never follows through. haha I guess Virgo and Cancer are similar signs then Amy & Katie! Thats kinda nice, Amy, that your FI has someone to make the decisions. Mine is as wishy washy & "whatever" as me!

Amy KH, wow good for you. You really put yourself out there and got a positive result. That's awesome. I am really happy for you. Katie - No, your friend's text doesn't sound that awful just be reading it - but with the background info its pretty selfish and rude. Its totally not your job to be friends with her Boy friend and go to his birthday party either. And yes, you may love her son, but again, the friendship is about you two and not her family OR her current boyfriend. She sounds like she is pretty unhappy herself and looking to blame you for parts of it. I really feel for you hon, around the holidays and 4 months to go... I think Nicole was really wise is suggesting you give it a few weeks for you both to cool off and see where you stand. Friendship break-ups are just as difficult as relationship ones. It sounds like your relationship has been pretty one sided for a while now and its hard to write off a friend. Honestly though, if this was your fiance or a boyfriend treating you like that, your friends would probably be really mad at you for staying with someone like that. Same with a friend treating you poorly! I have a BM who was mad at me for my Fiance not inviting her Boyfriend to his Bachelor Party. She said b/c she was in my wedding, her BF should be invited to the bach party.... I don't agree and things have been a bit strained between us since then. It sucks, but what can you do? Hope you are feeling better!!!!!!!!!

Just checking in ladies to see how everyone is doing during the most difficult time of year! I have lost 3 pounds - I think it was the first week only - b/c I have been drinking and eating out a lot. Still trying to manage the LC/LGI/HGI days but with the full social calendar its been a little tricky. I think I am going to do the 2nd week option for 3 LC days, 2 LGI, and 1 HGI before the cheat day. I feel like I lose my weight during the low carb days, so by extending it one day, I should be able to lose 1/2 - 1 pound a week during the holidays. Does anyone else do that set up? Hope you're all well!!!

Oh girls that sucks about your friends not being supportive. Its so hard to understand why someone wouldn't want to celebrate with your happiest moments in life. I honestly think that when things like this happen - it is not you - it is their own issues. All you can do is be honest and hope they can be honest with you. SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be thinking of you girls !!!!

Congrats on your recent engagement! I would start a "must have list" first and then start comparing the resorts. Look for things such as size, kids/adults only, all-inclusive, private reception costs, wedding ceremony locations, etc. Definitely get their banquet/wedding costs up front and see if they are running any specials. And don't worry about timing. You'll probably have quite a few weekends to pick from even in a month so enjoy the decision making process. This forum is a life saver!!!! I am sure you'll find everything you need (and add like 1000 ideas that you didn't think you needed too!).

I am getting legally married sometime next year so glad to hear it did not take away from you. AmyF - Damn, I'll search for Caribe on the site and see if anyone has used them. They look cute on their website. When did you sign your wedding contract? If it was before May/June 2009 you should be able to use the longer list of photogs? Or you could also post on the rivieria maya thread and see if anyone is traveling with a photog and wants to share. Not sure how that will work? I actually have been reconsidering my expensive photos. I am starting to think that I really don't care as much as I thought I would.

Here is my Week of Events I sent out in a brochure 7 months prior to wedding: MONDAY: Bride & Groom arrive TUESDAY: Welcome Dinner at ___ WEDNESDAY: Excursion to Tulum ruins and zip lining—more details to follow. THURSDAY: Cancun clubbing bus trip—7pm until…. FRIDAY: Catamaran Boat ride “Rehearsal Dinnerâ€, hosted by ____ SATURDAY: Beach Wedding, Cocktails & Reception SUNDAY: Chillin’ on the Beach MONDAY: Saying our good-byes I think the Catamaran Boat trip "hosted by____" kind of implies that the other events are not paid for. I am going to try and see if I can subsidize or pay for the excursion and the clubbing trip too. I am getting quotes now for the events and will decide then. I figure the clubbing might be the cheapest thing to pay for - its just a bus to Cancun and back. I think after the holidays (so 4 1/2 months to wedding) I will send a mass email asking people what activities they'd like to do and the cost. I have between 35 and 45 guests, and there are a couple older ppl and also ppl with young kids, so not everyone is going to do the activities. I agree, the Catamaran trip is probably the best activity. Seeing the area by boat is always great for a change of scenery. And if you are not at an AI resort, you can ever provide dinner on the boat. It runs about $50 per person - add extra if you need transportation.
