What an awesome song to dance to. Yeah less traditional, but then again getting married on a roof deck in Mexico is kind not following traditions either! I am going to have to iTunes the song when I get home from work. I think I am walking down the aisle to Alicia Keys - If I got you. Does anyone know how to burn CDs where you can delete the first amounts of seconds from the songs? I hate the long intros - esp for the recessional song - need to get right to the lyrics.

Ok so for immigration reasons, Mark & I are getting legally married Saturday February 6th! Woo hoo! I am in between doing a couple things: 1) having it in the Registry General's office and pretending like it doesn't mean anything, or 2) having a small beach ceremony (or nice outdoors) and then going out for a romantic dinner. I really don't think 2 would take away from our wedding and I hate to think that we act like its not special when BOTH days really will be..... He thinks it would be funny to do #1 b/c its next to the Post Office and so lame - they have this screen that they pull down that is cheesy and looks like you are on the beach (no way - totally fake) for pictures. LOL Decisions, decisions.

Lisa!!! Welcome back. I am going to check out your review - I just saw something in that section. Congrats Mrs! I have been very bad but with 4 months left I need to turn myself around. Hope we can help motivate. Hi Deb, I dont eat the snacks, I eat larger meals. I hate eating 6 times a day so I do a bigger breakfast and lunch. That might help you with your schedule. If you need a snack, anytime you could throw in the protein shake? Good luck!!!

Little overwhelmed at this point because my wedding date is so far off, and don't really know where to start, but this forum has been a huge help so far and I can't wait to get lots of advice from the pros. Hi Jamie! Welcome and congrats. Hmmm when I was 11 months out... I would start working on your guest list and thinking about save the dates. I got mine out 10 months before our wedding date b/c that was important to me to warn people if I was going to have a $2k per couple wedding.... What else.... Well you can start also by finding a TA before you book your date. There are some good deals out there and I would reccomend not signing anything until you have a good TA who will make sure you get a good deal. There is one on this site where you can get up to 20% off per room and your event bill. Would have saved me and my guests a pretty penny. I am sure your date will still be available in a few weeks. I panicked and signed and picked a TA and I regret it, so just my 2 cents!! I cant remember doing much more than that and also trying to figure out our theme and colors. There is an AWESOME martha stewart destination weddings magagzine out right now that you should pick up for ideas. Martha is a crazy criminal, but no one knows how to thorw better looking parties than her!!!

Sounds like your situation is better, they sound nervous but just want to get all the info first. Good luck! Amy, I hope they reconsider. If I find anything extra out I'll let you know. Its funny how CRAZY people can get sometimes.

AmyBermuda to do’s: - investigate & order waterproof stickers for mugs & shot glasses DONE - send out room block info for AHR - DONE - contact TA and find out capacity at hotel & email Mexico invitees who have not yet booked DONE - send out email to guests to book flights as wedding is over memorial day DONE - find & buy cocktail umbrellas for seating chart TO DO - get idea of #s for excursions and make preliminary bookings DONE - make FI actually get on the catamaran "rehearsal dinner" booking as he has promised to deal with for the past month! DONE To Dos: - Start song playlist - Start on ceremony design - Get info about babies at the hotel and near by medical facilities ** ** my sister just had a baby 4 weeks ago and her and her husband are freaking out about taking him to Mexico. They were fine before he was born but I think now that they see how little he is and fragile, they are totally freaking. Like - what type of water do they wash the bottles in? Is it safe to bathe the baby in the water in the bathroom? How will they protect him from the sun? And the list goes on. I might even need to start a thread to see about other ppl's guests bringing babies to mexico. I feel bad, but I think in 3 months they will realize their son is a much heartier than he is now as a newborn!

We're trying to do a lot of Bob Marley type music. "Is this love" etc.... My FI wanted to do "no woman no cry" but I kibashed that - lol -

Thanks so much!!! I love "move bitch get out the way" for the bouquet toss! Hilarious -
OK I am starting back CYWT today! I have 15 pounds to lose for my wedding minimum though would rather lose 20 pounds, which is what I weighed when I started dating my FI. I found today to be really hard on low carb even though weeks before I was fine on Sunday, it was Monday that was killing me. Oh well, super motivated now! Hope everyone else is well.

Resorts to Avoid
amybermuda replied to 2010 Bride!'s topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I wanted a small, family friendly resort close to an airport and there were only a few to choose from so I was lucky. You could try to talk to a travel agent and have them narrow down your choices by your requirements: walking distance to things, price range, wedding options & cost, etc. Then you would have a smaller list to start really looking at. I have not heard anyone on this site recommend avoiding resorts. There are pluses and minuses of every place. When I was second guessing my choice I started looking at other threads on here and reading what the other brides were complaining about I realized that there is no place perfect. Weddings, local and destination, are only as stressful as you make them. I find it really hard not to get carried away, but then I remember if I do NOTHING else from here on out I am still going to get married on a beach and have a great group of friends and family with me. Not to mention the love of my life Good luck choosing and let us know your next steps! I love helping to pick resorts and look at their websites!!!
