Hi Brides! I got this diet from a friend and it sat in my drawer for 10 months until April 7th I tried it and lost 8 1/2 pounds in 3 weeks. Its strict and I did cheat a little (glass of wine here and there and went out to eat a few times too) but it made me get much closer to my wedding goal weight! Anyways, I wanted to post it for anyone out there looking for a jump start to their weight loss! The breakfast did not come out that well, but it is 3/4 c cooked oatmeal. This is from Oxygen magazine. Oxygen Mag - diet.pdf

But I remember asking one of the girls that got married on here - Jen of Jen & Fred - her pix were from Elizabeth Medina you should search for them - how she got such great flowers and she said she told Karisma what exactly she wanted and they recreated it. So, I am not too worried about it - but I also don't really care that much about the ceremony set up - so I never aksed the questions. You will be able to see my pictures in 4 weeks though!!! Here is the picture I said I wanted my gazebo to look like: I must have looked at 200 weddings on the beach pictures to finally decide so I know how you feel.

Do you think rose petals on the aisle would be too much? Probably? Hmm..ok no petals. And I havent decided what to do with the top of the arch. Flowers? Fabric? I am thinking maybe if I do the planters (even though I got quote $250 each) I will not have to do anything to the rest of that monsterous wooden thing. What do you think?Hmm..I also found this gourgeous vintage/french crystal chandleier on saveoncrafts.com that is super cheap. I am think that would be really pretty to hang above us but not sure how to make that work. Paris Flea Market Crystal Hanging 26" Metal Chandelier Candleholder $28.99 Amanda, it all depends on your budget and what you want to spend money on. And how much stuff you want to lug down there with you (I can't imagine youd get many 26" chandeliers into one suitcase)!!! It would be gorgeous to have tons of flowers everywhere and those gorgeous chairs. I love the fancy weddings featured in magazines with flowers everywhere. I would love to have something like that but we chose to spend our $ on excursions for my guests, welcome bags, and a fabulous photographer. One thing you could do to keep the cost down, is to have cheaper flowers. I am having 2 large glass vases at the foot of the wedding gazebo thing filled with white gladiolas (which I love) and its $43 per vase. Thats better than a $250 planter and you could even have 1 vase per row at the foot of the chairs leading down the asile. Gladiolas come in lots of different colors if you wanted them to color coordinate. Just a suggestion! In any event, get quotes on everything and then determine what is worth it to you and what is not. Defo have everything transferred to your reception too b/c the ceremonies are only like 20-30 mins!!! Quote: Originally Posted by amandamarieb Has anyone booked flights with vayama.com? AB only does one wedding a day b/c it's so small. It would be a huge inconvenience on AB for you to go there. Yeah I totally agree. Sounds like a cut & paste from the wrong email for sure. If you are not having a private event, I bet you could have dinner at almost anywhere on the AS property! I'm looking through my package trying to get a feel for our budget and I don't know what would be more cost-effective. And I know we've all heard 100 different quotes on prices for set-up, etc...so I'd love to hear directly from you if you don't mind Celina, you can see how my set up looks too. I went with the uncovered & no bows on the chairs and have larges vases of gladiolas at the base of the gazebo. I should have pictures posted in 4 weeks - Ahh crazy to say that! The time of year matters with sunset times in mexico. I would google the sunset times for your date and make sure you will have enough sunlight for your ceremony. Also, receptions are 4 hours long and you would want to take pictures afterwards, so I would space out the ceremony from the reception for at least an hour. I am doing a cocktail hour. With 38 people, at $10 pp, then its only $380 to have a 2 hour cocktail hour - plus it makes my wedding 2 extra hours! Everyone says how quickly it goes, so I wanted to prolong the day

Food Question
amybermuda replied to jay45's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I think the Cancun resorts would be able to deal with this. I read a trip advisor report from my resort posted by someone with a gluten allergy and they said the chef knew what they could or could not eat as soon as they mentioned it. I think a well traveled area like the RM has seen it all and has all sorts of requests so you should be OK. When it comes to narrowing down resorts though you should definitely ask each one about this and make sure their answers put you at ease. Thats the last thing you need to worry about! -

How much fun would we all have??!! #2 - omg so obnoxious. I mean, you have one last weekend before mexico -- nows not the time to be dissing the bride! Was this last night or tonight? Hope you have/had a great time!!!!

I have a get/axxium nail appt with all my girls tonight with wine in the salon, I don't know how they pulled that off. I think I finished my vows last night too... margarita #2 I got inspiration. Also completed my list/spreadsheet and details with special instructions to the DJ. All I need to do is do a tighter dress rehersal of our dance, pack the clothes, give pre-travel gifts to the girls, hand out suitcases with receipts, get my final appts done, pick up FI's pants from alterations and print out stuff to bring Happy last day of work for 2 weeks ladies!!!!!!!!! I hope you girls have great weekends and get everything ready to go. Seems like neither of you are frantic - so good on you both!!! Love the bathroom vows Amy... so classic. Imagine how different this all was back in the day when you never had lived w/ your husband before marriage - what a shock! haha

Thanks Autumn, thanks a good idea. I am going to add that to my website. Not only do we live far away, but we have to pay 25% import duty on all gifts or new things coming to the island! Thank god I bought a cheaper wedding dress - I had to pay 25% to bring it here to get altered!

Hi Katie! You must be getting so excited! You leave this weekend, right? Typically brides put their E-ring on their right hand ring finger for the wedding ceremony and then switch it over for the reception. Mine fits OK that way but my best friend could not get hers on her right hand so I think her Mom held it for her during the ceremony and then gave it to her afterward. That sux that your AHR is making you stress out! I am doing an iPod and no photog kind of event, caterer will do everything for me - linens and chair rental, glassware, etc. - so its kind of a one stop shop. I am excited to do the food and wine tastings though - and the cake. We are going to Maryland June 25th to do it all - and together - which I kind of missed with planning a DW.

I dont know either area well, but it seems you could do cheaper in St Louis. I suppose if you found somewhere 1/2 way you could do a luncheon and ppl would not have to get hotel rooms?
-
Thanks for posting Autumn! I loved your wedding planning thread - this one is amazing too. Good recycling you did I am doing a Maryland theme for my AHR - gotta love the down home ideas you can get from where you grow up! How did you address gifts? Did you say no gifts? Did you expect them? Just curious b/c I am sending out my invites now.

My Dad lives on Kent Island so we are doing it in this little club house on the property of his neighborhood. I put a picture of it below. There is a thread on this forum under AHRs - I think from JerseyBride - or maybe a different girl - cant remember - but she had hers on the Chesapeake in Anne Arundel county and it was amazing. Very laid back and inexpensive. She was going to do a harbor dinner cruise but then found this venue and it was so much better and her pictures were really impressive. One of those places that does everything for you.

I just found a printer near my work that is going to print my place cards, programs, and welcome letters. Whew! I feel so much better The place cards are super cute - white middle with pink stripes around the sides. They are going to use bright orange ink for the names too so it will go with my centerpieces and the pink stripes will match my table runners. SWEET I was totally stressing last night and now I feel much better. Yes, $2 per place card is probably crazy talk, but right now it makes me feel better that its done and its Bermuda and everything is freaking expensive here - including my peace of mind - haha Oh - and my fellow Marylanders - I have organized my AHR to be a Maryland theme, since we'll be right on the Chesapeake Bay! We are having red & yellow table clothes w/ black and white napkins (to match the flag), black eye Susan flowers, ships and other nautical items as centerpieces, and a cup cake tower with little paper Maryland flags in them all. I am soooooo excited! And of course for gifts we will give little crab knockers and other crab accessories. Oh so easy and fun to do this theme - and such less pressure from the real wedding

I also live in craft stores. There are the coolest glues now, little dots, love em, not wet, sticky as hell, wonderful. Door sign, hmmm do you have publisher? You can also buy a blank door sign or probably download a free one and put whatever you want on it. There are SO many free download on the internet it's not even funny, my doorsign was a free download, same with my moustache signs, I just combined them and put some popsicle stick like wood on the back to keep them upright. That reminds me... I forgot some stuff on my planning thread, haha whoops! OMG the mustaches were so hilarious. I am going up to Boston in 2 weeks and could get some of those glue dots. I use the paper cutter at work - its OK, I am just not patient enough for perfection I had Publisher on my computer at my last company, but not here. I guess I could make one in Word and have it printed on cardstock.... I'll do that!

Yeah, please stay for 3 weeks extra and drag your suitcases down the road to Azul beach and help me! I wish I would have had professional printers make all my tags and stuff. I am so not detailed orientated and everything has jagged edges, and glue squidges on it. How are you decorating the Sky Deck? Are you have the chuppah thingy? What about other decor? I also want to make a door sign for our door being the wedding couple. Anyone have any ideas for that?
