I dont think I ever posted my final AHR pix. Here is the photog's blog. Besides it breaking records for hottest day on record and us having an outside venue.... it was great!!! http://leodjphoto.com/blog/2010/08/cove-creek-country-club-kent-island-wedding-photographer-amy-mark/ I wasn't going to spend the money on a professional photographer, but I then I thought about the money I was spending and I wanted it to be properlly documented

Hi girls - just a quick note that if anyone wants to ask me anything, please PM me. I do not read this thread regularly anymore - I logged on after 1 week and there are 91 new messages! whew  I hope all of your planning is going well. Sounds like the WCs are getting worse than they were before (which is unimaginable). Know that you can change/add/remove ANYTHING once you get down to Mexico. All you need are your locations picked and everything else can be taken care of at the resort. I bet you can even change your menu if you want!  Looking back on my wedding 4 months later - I think the most important thing was having a great time with my husband and our guests. Everything else is very faded into the background. Your happiness and your love will shine through everything - that's what makes a good wedding!!!  Good luck B2Bs!!!

Amanda - I gave them a list of songs to play to get an idea of what we liked. About 15 new up beat songs, 5 slow songs, and 10 oldies - and said this is the type of music we like. ( I emailed this to the WC in Miami and brought 3 copies of that email with me) Â They played the songs I requested in different order and varied it up a bit. They added some other songs too (like Shout and the Cupid Shuffle) which went over very well. I spoke to the MC during the night to make sure they played what we wanted (ie, "time for a slow song", and what I wanted them to finish with, etc). They did play "I like big butts" which I am still annoyed over - but I should have given the signal to change it. They played another song I did not like and they saw me give the "cut it" sign and very tactfully faded out that song and played into another. I think they did a very good job. Â Â Â

Just got back from the honeymoon - only gained 4 pounds - miracle! I must have had at least 4 frozen drinks a day  Lisa, I might have told you before but I make crustless quiches - this makes 4 servings so its perfect for Sunday - Wednesday breakfast:  6 egg whites 6 whole eggs 1/3-1/2 cup shredded cheese 2 cups of lightly cooked veggies (onions & mushrooms, peppers & onions, broccoli)  With oven @ 350. Pour eggs into an 8in round cake pan. lightly add veggies and mix around so they are all covered by eggs. sprinkle cheese on top. Add a few dashes of spices - pepper, cayenne pepper, basil, etc - and cook for around 30 mins. I usually check on it starting with 20 mins and then every 3 mins afterwards to make sure I don't over cook.  Anyways, the combinations of veggies & different cheeses and spices usually is enough to keep me happy! I also have added sausages or ham as well.  I eat what they call "Deck-fast" - so this is easy enough for me to heat up for a minute once I get to work and eat it. Usually the egg smell is not too overpowering either

That will be awesome! I love that song, we played it at our reception. I had all of the wedding music on 1 CD. I had a piece of paper in the CD case that had all the songs listed like this:  1. Song: Guests entering 2. Song: Guests entering 3. Song: Bridesmaids & Bride walking down aisle 4. Song: Processional 5. Song; after wedding pictures 6. Song: after wedding pictures  They are so professional at the resort - they know how to operate the music - they do it all the time. We told them WCs about the songs and what not at the wedding meeting and they knew what to do. I would have added up to Song 10 had I to do it again. I am not sure how long they let you stay u[p on the Sky Deck and how many pictures you'll want to take up there, but may as well be prepared   Wow - that suits you perfectly! I love it!!!!  Mine supposedly sold out - but when we got down there it wsa maybe 60% full.... Karisma screws themselves with all of the tour operators they use - they really do not sell out of the rooms. Don't stress! The resort is so big and in this economy - no one is booking vacations for next May - come on! I would not worry about it.

I walked down to Alicia Keys "If I ain't got you" - Its a 3+ min song so all of the BMs walked down the aisle to that also. I loved it. If you are taking pictures wherever your wedding ceremony is after the ceremony (which everyone does) - you need AT LEAST 4-5 songs AFTER your processional song for when people are milling around. I would do more like 10 songs. I had Stevie as well as our Processional Song (which was "Hay I love you" or something like that by Michael Franti I think....?). They put my CD on repeat - which was awesome to have music playing during the pictures part - but after the 3rd time of hearing "signed sealed delivered" my brother went and turned off the music - LOL.  Great job so far Amanda! I can't wait to see your wedding pics :-)  So, in regards to what you are deciding on now and paying for...... Make sure you bring down color copies of everything you have on your spreadsheet. I think it works like this: you give your WC a picture of what you want and they use it to get a price quote from lomas. I do not think that picture goes to your Lomas WC at AS. Soooooo make sure you have pictures of your cake, flowers, table set up, etc etc etc to give to your WC. And while you are at it, make 2 copies - 1 for Lomas WC and 1 for Azul WC.  Music - make sure you burn CDs for all of your music. I would also burn them for the music your DJ is supposed to play, just in case they do not have your first dance song. They had everything for me correct, but I wanted to be on the safe side. I also came down with all of the playlists on my iPod so if worst came to worst, I could give my iPod to someone.  We actually created our seating arrangements in Mexico. We oragnized the name cards and gave them to the WCs at our wedding meeting.     Ladies - I leave for our long awaited honeymoon Saturday! I am sooooo excited! Excellence PLaya Mujeres here we come!!!

My Dad paid a lot towards our wedding and DH's parents paid for the "rehearsal dinner catamaran".... and we still did not get our parents any gifts. I did BM gifts and welcome bags. I will definitely give our parents some printed pro pictures once we get them, but no one I spoke to heard of getting parent's gifts and DH and I were not giving each other gifts, so we did not go the gift route. Full disclosure: DH and I are pretty anti-gifts. We'd rather go on vacation or out to eat than buy each other stuff. And for Xmas, we tell our families to do secret santa or nothing. Â

Murmel, you look beautiful in your dress. Its going to be amazing once it's fitted and you have your hair and make up done. Great choice!! Â Â And all your purple brides - what a great color! The richness of the purples you ladies are posting are going to look so amazing. I probably would have really been reconsidering my options from looking at your inspiration boards. Â One thing I learned from Julia's (I think that was her name, forgive me) wedding was that one color is all you need, with small accents here or there. Her yellow flowers and bows with all white everything else really popped.

I was very happy that we chose to get legally married first. I was so much more relaxed in Mexico. He was too. But on our legal day we both has stomach aches we were so nervous! LOL Â However, we kind of had to do it. FI got transferred to Boston in Sept and was moving back to Bermuda once we got married in Mexico. We needed to be married w/ a marriage certificate for him to be put on my work permit while he looked for jobs. We couldn't wait the -6 weeks to get the Mexican wedding cert and then get it translated and all of that - we would have been living apart for a year had that happened. Â So, its really a matter of preference and your own situation. I did feel bad when 1 person told me not to b/c then Mexico would be like a joke - or a lie - I forget their exact words. So, we kept it to ourselves and that was that.

Beaz, I did not bring a card box or a basket with me and we did not need to. We got MAYBE 3 cards at the actual reception. A couple gave us cards that day before the wedding, a couple the day after the wedding, but the majority of people did not bring anything with them to Mexico. I would be interested to hear what the other brides received. Also, I had an AHR so maybe that was when people expected to give us their cards. My husband ran to the room after the wedding was over and put our cards into our safe. We also had to drop off our toasting glasses and a couple things I wanted to save, and then we made our grand entrance into the tequila bar! You could designate a family member or trust worthy friend to do the same for you if you don't want to have to do it yourselves. In Ireland, its tradition that the best man hold the cards for the bride & groom. You actually give the cards to him. I like that idea. I wore white pants and a blue shirt to my legal wedding. I did not think I needed an outfit and FI wanted to downplay it as much as possible - t make Mexico more special. Deciding on a dress is hard!! What type of wedding are you anticipating? Do you want your guests in shirt & ties and formal dresses? Or do you want them in beachy wear? Go with the theme of your wedding and how you envision it. I wanted flowy and beachy (men in flip flops) so I got a beachy dress. I saw 2 other weddings while there and they were both much more formal than mine - and I have to admit - a formal wedding on the beach was a really cool contrast - I could not imagine it myself until I saw it. And I liked it a lot!

I think he means "plan" like go to the store and buy cheetos on Thursday in anticipation for Saturday. I plan for sangria and pizza and nachos religiously! Your luck your husband does it with you Lisa. Mine kept asking me if I wanted a sandwich or spaghetti on Sunday - I was like "what part of low carb do you not understand?"!!! He was just being helpful - lol

I really dislike the receipes for that same reason. However, he does say in the diet that you can have one service of the higher GI carbs on the Low GI days - like brown rice or whole what pasta. My body reacts better to low carb, so I do not let myself have those items on Tues & Wed - only fruit & beans added for me! Thurs/Fri I will eat starchy carbs, corn, & potatoes. This morning I had an apple and peanut butter with a latte/milk. Delish! These low GI days are my fave!

Good for you Pam! Totally agree!!! I weigh myself (mostly) every day and write in on a small month-by-month calendar on my dresser. I don't get mad when it goes up even 2 pounds in one day b/c I know how finicky my weight can be based on what I ate the day before. If I was dieting and only weighted myself weekly and I gained 2 pounds, I would feel awful though!
