  2. Congrats and welcome! One of the locations we thought of while looking was Jamaica as well. My travel agent recommended the Riu resorts, but she suggested the one in Montego Bay. She recommedned the Riu Palace Tropical Bay over the Montego Bay resort. Here is what she wrote to me: I had a client insist on going to the Riu Montego Bay resort (they are retired, travel often and have already been to the Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril). After their return of 10 nights, they said they enjoyed their stay, but…. the food was just okay and became redundant. Also, the seaweeds in the water was a bit unusual and not very appealing for a beachfront resort. That same couple just returned from the Iberostar Montego Bay and loved everything about it. Comparing it to the Riu Montego Bay, they said it offered much better food and service. They also said the Iberostar was the quality of the Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril. I have been to all of these resorts, however only stayed at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay. Hope that helps!

  5. Just wondering if anyone has ever had permanent makeup done? I've been thinking for some time now that I would like to have permanent make up done for my eyebrows. Over the years they have gotten thinner do to over plucking and what not. I've tried Anastasia Brow Enhancing and I'm not sure if it really enhanced my brows at all. When I searched for permanent cosmetics in my area, I saw another company, Billion Dollar Brows, they have a product similar to Anastasia. The thing is that I don't want to keep spending money on things that may/may not work. By the time I'm done testing all these products I could have gotten the permanent brows. I'm tired of filling in my brows and with my wedding, I don't want to be worried that they have sweated off!! Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  6. Those are really cute! When I saw them it inspired me to do them myself. Still trying to find the right artwork for them.

  9. It does get a little overwhelming in the beginning especially when you have all these resorts you are looking at. At least you have started to organize the venues according to the ones you liked best by their pictures. I did the same thing. Then I would contact my travel agent and she would give me the pros/cons of that resort. Then you look at cost, not only for you, but for your guests. Also look at their wedding venues. You have to figure out if you want to get married on the beach, gazebo or another location at the resort. My FI just cared about how much it was going to cost for our guests. That was hard. I would find a place that I liked, but the price was not right. You just have to keep thinking of what you want and what you always dreamed your day would be like.
  10. Congratulations! Sounds like you had the wedding of your dreams.

  13. I think it's a great idea to use it on everything. Definitely take advantage of what you can get for free. Using your logo for everything makes it more personal.
  14. Personally I don't think it is tacky at all. It's your wedding, you should do as you wish. As far as the announcements for your AHR. I would just try to send them out as soon as you know when/where. How soon after you come back were you planning on having your AHR? I kind of had a similar situation. We have some people that are coming to the destination, but then we have some people that we do not know if they are coming to the destination or just the AHR. We have decided that we are going to send them both invites. We have designed invites that will be the same invite for both the destination and the announcements, but different wording for each.

    Hello...

My name is Nicole. My fiance and I are planning on a Mexico wedding for 2/6/2010. As far as destination we are undecided right now. I'm hoping this website will give me much needed advice! He would like to get married somewhere in Cozumel, so I've been looking there. The resorts that I like so far are Riu Jalisco, Sandos Playacar, Marival, Occidental Grand and Melia Cozumel. If anyone has been to any of these resorts, I would love some feedback. Thank you!
