Me too I wish! There is a TO photographer I have my heart set on just don't have the money........but maybe if I could share the costs....... keeoing my fingers and toes crossed. I am almost at the 6 months mark now eek!!!!

It feels great to be booked and back on track again!

An update on our situation--- So we are all re-booked now with Air Canada Vacations. 7 people dropped out (including 2 bridesmaids)!! The cost was a bit more than before. We are also leaving 2 days earlier which isn't ideal but we didn't have a choice. The crappy thing is we have an 8 hour stop over in TO on the way back and it is overnight so people are going to have to get a hotel or be extremely uncomforthable on an airport bench! Our family from UK is flying in 2 days later than us and if we keep the wedding day the same then it is the day before everyone from Winnipeg flys home. Feeling better than a few weeks back and just glad that we are all booked again and didn't have to change locations. Thanks again for the supporting words. Back to the planning! 6 more months! Thanks KPEG. We decided on Cuba because no one that will be joining us has been there before. Seems like everyone has been to Mexico, Jamaica and DR. We also have family coming from the UK and they can fly into the same airport as us. The legal requirements are easier than Mexico (from what I heard) and we also wanted to be on an Island. The planning has been going slowly........ once we decided on a resort/location we contacted a few travel agents and got quotes and the great thing about having a few travel agents working with you is they will price match each other back and forth-as long as you let them you that you are getting quotes elsewhere. We still have SO MUCH to do but it does seem less stressy than having a city wedding! If you have any questions don't be shy! All the best!

Things we/I have completed booked all inclusive and confirmed wedding date dress purchased but not yet arrived engagement pictures sent out resort info bd pics Things left to do find groom's, bestman, dad's and moh attire purchase wedding bands decide on flowers purchase gifts for MOH & Best man book welcome dinner with resort decide on accessories and footwear (or no footwear) OOT bags decide on photographer - not sure what we are doing about this!!! choose music Probably more I am forgetting Happy Planning fellow January 2010 brides

I feel your pain!! We booked with Sunwing 20 ppl Winnipeg - Holguin a few months back and just found out last week that Sunwing will not be flying that route anymore!! So we are back at square one!! How can they book something that doesn't exist? Yes we got our deposits back for the Canadian group but we have people already booked seperately from the UK with non refundable deposits!! grrr...... The only other tour operator that goes there from Winnipeg is Air Canada vacations - we are still waiting for our quote back. Let's both just keep positive and hopefully it will all work out!

Hey fellwo PPers! Thought I would share with you what has happened to us...... We booked through a travel agent a few months back and the tour operator we booked with has decided that they no longer will be doing flights from Winnipeg to Holguin in 2010!! We have family booked from the UK already seperately with non refundable deposits. Sunwing has refunded all of our deposits (20 ppl) but now we are back to square one!! We really really don't want to switch locations for many reasons and the only other tour operator that goes there is Air Canada vacations which involves a stopover in TO. This is just so frustrating. We have to explain this to all our guests and everyone is worried now. We are waiting for quotes back again I just hope that they are not too much more money. I am scared that people are going to drop out! Thanks for listening - feels good to vent!

I am in the same boat. I have not heard anything great about the resort photographer but cannot afford to bring my own so I am hoping to share travel costs with someone to bring a photographer in....................
